However,thisyeardifferedfrompreviousyears,asstudentsexploredwindpower,engineering complexities,andthejoysofrepurposing Why?Thisdeeperdivewasspecificallysteeredbya studentwhosuggestedthathisclassbuildawind poweredtractor.Thetractorwasconstructed fromcardboardandwascompletewithworkinggears!Thestudentswereinspiredbytheworkof TheoJansenandhiswind poweredmachines,appliedlearningfromtheintegratedunit curriculum,andthoughtgloballyabouthowthistractorcouldbenefitfarmersindifferent environmentstosupporttheearth'sneeds.Theyactivelycollaboratedandtookownershipoftheir work.
