TWT Chichester Cathedral

On Monday, June 8, 2026 eleven of us met to photograph Chichester Cathedral.

Chichester was founded as a cathedral in 1075 and consecrated in 1108. It's the most typical English Cathedral with the exception of having a free-standing medieval bell tower (or campanile).

Inside there are two rare medieval sculptures, the Lazarus Reliefs which are located to the right of the High Altar

it houses many modern art works including tapestries, stained glass (Chagall) and sculpture. many of these were commissioned by Walter Hussey (Dean, 1955–1977)

The spire is third or fourth tallest in the UK depending on who you believe.

After lunch a few of us travelled to Bosham to visit its church.
