Why Volunteer

Why I joined the RPS I joined the RPS more for social reasons than anything else but with the thought that I might be able to use my photographic experience to perhaps help less experienced photographers improve their skills. However, after joining I was sort of coerced into applying to the Southern Region committee as a volunteer by two former members. I originally contacted the then RO who, at the time as I learnt later, was unfortunately quite unwell. After not hearing anything at the time a little while later I was contacted by the new RO Pail Gilmore who asked if I'd care to join his committee and the rest as the saying goes is history. David Ashcroft and myself joined the committee at the same time and both have now been volunteers for about 8 years. Dave Peckham ARPS
