As I reflect on the past year, I am filled with gratitude for the incredible impact your generosity has made at Royal Palm Academy. Your support has directly enhanced our educational programs and enriched the lives of every student and teacher within our community.
Last year, thanks to your contributions, we have significantly expanded our field trips and student experiences, ensuring that each student at RPA has the opportunity to engage in learning beyond the classroom. We have grown partnerships with local organizations like The Naples Players, Gulfshore Playhouse, The Wonder Gardens, The Conservancy, and more. These partnerships have brought enriching experiences to our students, fostering creativity, confidence, and a sense of stewardship.
I am also pleased to report that we have significantly grown our school clubs and enrichment opportunities to include 14 diverse activities, catering to the wide range of interests among our students. Additionally, the introduction of a flag football team as a fall sport has added excitement to our competitive athletic offerings.
Technologically, over the summer we have made substantial upgrades to our IT network infrastructure and increased the number of devices available, significantly enhancing both teaching and learning capabilities across all grades. This work was specifically made possible as part of our spring Gala, and directly ensures that our students and teachers have access to state-of-the-art resources.
Another exciting milestone this year was the addition of a brand new 14-passenger bus on campus! Our brand-new bus will be a beacon of the RPA brand in Naples and an essential resource for supporting student activities and athletics. Our bus will help reduce our reliance on parent-drivers for school activities, and also elevate the safe and efficient travel for our athletic teams and student field trips.
Furthermore, our commitment to making a Royal Palm education accessible to missionaligned families remains strong, with continued support for high-impact financial assistance. This commitment ensures that more mission-aligned students can benefit from the unique educational experience RPA offers.
As we look forward to the next school year, we invite you to join us in sustaining and expanding these valuable programs. Your continued partnership is crucial in funding our Athletic Sponsorships, Annual Fund, Lilly Pulitzer Fashion Show, Day of Giving, and Gala. With a commanding 6-0 victory over St. Ann, the team showcased their prowess on the field, solidifying their reputation as champions. Under the exceptional leadership of Michael Bussman, our Head of School, RPA has reached new heights. Within his first three years at RPA, Mike has significantly increased enrollment, improved our financial stability, strengthened our teacher and staff compensation and retention, and invigorated our community with new programs and initiatives that underscore our commitment to developing future Catholic leaders.
As we look to the future, I am excited to hint at our next chapter—we are laying the groundwork for a transformative era at RPA. In the coming months, we look
forward to unveiling our Master Site Plan and sharing more about our strategic objectives. A visible testament to this bright future is the arrival of our new RPA-branded bus—a symbol of the Board’s commitment to our school’s future, enhancing student life, and a tangible first step in our ambitious plans for the future of our school.

Especially in these troubling times, which can be confusing for many, we find comfort and strength by leaning into our faith for strength, clarity, and guidance. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the priests from St. John the Evangelist, whose guidance and partnership have been invaluable. Fr. Tomasz Zalewski, Fr. Mark Harris, and Fr. Nicholas Thompson have been steadfast in supporting our mission, helping us to grow and strengthen our foundations. Their spiritual leadership has nurtured our students, faculty, and families, fostering a deeper connection to our Catholic faith traditions.

LOUIS DEPRISCO
We celebrate the life and legacy of Louis DePrisco, who passed away suddenly at the age of 93 on March 17th, 2024. Lou is survived by his wife Mary and their four sons: L. Richard, John, James, and Joseph, along with fourteen grandchildren.
Lou played a crucial role in founding Royal Palm Academy in 1998. His vision and dedication were instrumental in establishing our school. Despite initial challenges, Lou helped secure the first campus, starting with three trailers on a five-acre field off Golden Gate Parkway. As the academy grew, Lou generously donated the land on Livingston Road, which became our permanent home in 2001. His contributions were pivotal in shaping the foundation and future of Royal Palm Academy.
We honor Lou's unwavering dedication to Royal Palm Academy and his profound commitment to shaping future generations of leaders. As we mourn his loss, we celebrate his remarkable life and the enduring impact he has left on our community. Lou DePrisco will forever be remembered as a true visionary and a founding member of our Royal Palm Academy family.
