ABOUT US

Conductors’ Collective is a society made up of students from across the university where we learn conducting skills together in a fun, relaxed, and creative environment. This term, members of all abilities have improved their skills at working with both orchestral and choral groups. The whole society has been working really hard to put this concert together and we hope you enjoy it!

ABOUT THE SHOW

In their final concert for the year, we are taking a trip around the campus. With an interactive version of the campus map on the screen, host Oliver describes how each place on campus has a link to a famous piece of music which stretches from Classical, to Dance, to Pop - and everything in between [this shows off the variety of genres we cover as a society, makes sure to include all musicians - like saxophones and electric bassists, and engages a wide range of audience members].

For example, doesn't the founders building remind you of BBC's 'The Traitors' Castle, or the SU remind you of the best times dancing with your friends to Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky', or The Packhorse remind you of karaoke night where you belt out 'Defying Gravity', or even when you walk past the chapel and hear the phenomenal poise and elegance of The Choir of Royal Holloway practicing Bach's 'Jesu Meine Freude' for their upcoming services! Well this concert will have extracts of all of these . . . plus more!
