The Core at Corby Cube at the Highland Gathering Sun 13 July

Join the team from The Core at this year’s Highland Gathering. You’ll find us along the main walkway just down from The White Hart Pub. There’s plenty of activities to take part in, including a music and drama workshop with India’s Bread n Butter Entertainment, dance workshops from Wriggle Dance Theatre and Moves, fun drama activities with Corby Young Actors and family crafts activities for younger children.

Live Bolero As part of the The Big Dance Weekend we’d love you to join us to watch and take part in Live Bolero, a high-energy community dance combining contemporary and street music. To celebrate 30 years since Torvill and Dean’s Olympic Gold Medal winning performance in Sarajevo, Jeanefer Jean-Charles (choreographer of London 2012’s opening ceremony) has created a unique dance for all, but this time not on ice!

You can take part too! People from Corby’s communities will perform Live Bolero at the Highland Gathering and you can take part too. It’s easy – simply email stuart@dance4.co.uk and on Mon 30 June you will be sent a video link to a short dance routine to learn, or find it at www.thecorecorby.com. You can also join us at an open workshop on the day with Moves choreographer Leah Waterfield if you want to practice ahead of the performance.

Made In Corby Come and say hello to the Made In Corby team and find out how to get involved in Corby’s Creative People And Places Programme, funded by Arts Council England, and driven by local people so that more Corby people than ever before see, experience, create and take part in high quality arts activities. The first big Made In Corby event will be a concert with international jazz singer, Barb Jungr, the acclaimed Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Corby community choir Deep Roots Tall Trees and local musicians Head Of Snakes, at Corby Town Football Club on Sat 23 August; tickets are on sale from 1 July from The Core Ticket Office on 01536 470 470 or visit www.thecorecorby.com.
