Food may be a necessity, but it transcends its role of mere sustenance.

It is a staple of celebration and a window to one’s culture and traditions.

When we gather with friends and family to share a meal, the flavors are just as important as the memories we make. That’s why Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa prides itself in offering seven seasonal on-site dining options, ranging from grab-and-go quick bites to multi-course gourmet feasts.

No matter your taste, each morsel should capture the ethos of your escape to paradise. Gary Brielmayer, General Manager of Hilton Sandestin Beach, believes the resort is more than capable of doing so with its new group of culinary experts.

“From the top down, the culinary team we’ve assembled at Hilton Sandestin Beach is truly exceptional,” said Brielmayer. “It’s gratifying to see our family grow and provide an even greater depth and energy to our guests.”

Last year, Hilton Sandestin Beach bid farewell to longtime Executive Chef Dan Vargo as he moved on to pursue his dreams and spend time traveling with his family. Knowing he was leaving behind big shoes to fill, Vargo embarked upon a widespread search for a successor, sharing the search with Angelina Covington, Hilton Sandestin Beach’s operations director.

When the pair encountered Dan Tederous, it was fate. Most recently the Executive Chef de Cuisine at Delmonico Steakhouse in Las Vegas, Nevada, Tederous boasts over 20 years of professional culinary experience in fine dining restaurants and luxury hotels, including the Waldorf Astoria in Orlando, Florida.

He has already demonstrated his prowess in overseeing all kitchen operations to optimize on-site dining experiences and has been working closely with new culinary team lead Steve Withall to bring you Sandcastles Restaurant’s new open-air kitchen.

It’s important that we keep things fresh for you, the guest. Whether visiting for the first time or a perennial visitor, you’re invited to explore the vast, seasonal selections showcasing locally sourced produce, fresh-from-the-Gulf seafood and all the palatial delicacies the Emerald Coast offers.

There truly is something for everyone. Grandma and Grandpa may wake early and opt for a sunrise stroll on the beach. If they first swing by The Coffee Shop, they can take with them an enlivening cup of joe and a homemade pastry.

While they have a head start on the day, the rest of the clan can catch up with a delectable, buffet-style breakfast at Sandcastles Restaurant. Whether you nosh on fresh fruit and cereal or go all-out with a custom omelet, you’re sure to work up an appetite for lunch after a few hours in the sun.

Parents know how hard it can be to pull their children away from splashing in the water. Plan ahead and take a lunch to-go with mac ’n cheese or chicken tenders from Picnix Poolside Market, or keep an eye out for one of Hilton Sandestin Beach’s “sand kickers.” These team members walk the beach and place your order for tasty handhelds or cocktails at Barefoot’s Beachside Bar & Grill.

Sushi lovers can spruce up for supper at Hadashi Sushi Bar, which offers some of the freshest rolls and sashimi around. If it’s a special occasion, consider taking your significant other for a prime steak and seafood spread at Seagar’s, where the atmosphere is just as tasteful as the cuisine. If the sun’s got you bushed, inroom dining options can deliver dinner and dessert directly to your door.

“I believe we have nailed every aspect of dining in this hotel,” said Angelina Covington. “With a little bit of everything to offer, no one needs to venture off property for a fabulous meal.”
