RESORT DINING We offer

SEVEN OPTIONS THAT ARE OH SO DELICIOUS

From grab-and-go poolside to gourmet tableside, you can enjoy a different dining experience each day of the week

BY ZANDRA WOLFGRAM

With seven seasonal, convenient — and delicious — on-site dining options, Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa can satisfy just what you crave every day of the week.

It’s always a good morning at Sandcastles Restaurant. Rise and shine to enjoy a bountiful buffet brimming with fresh fruit, steel-cut oats and cereal, made-to-order omelets, waffles, breakfast meats, hash browns and more. Breakfast is just the start here. Sandcastles also dishes up delicious coastal cuisine for lunch and dinner.

The beach doesn’t have to wait. Before you hit that sugar white sand, pop into The Coffee Shop for a handcrafted breakfast sandwich or choose from an assortment of decadent house-made baked goods and treats, courtesy of our talented in-house pastry chef Yascha Becker. Pair it with a cup of your favorite Starbucks® brew, and you’re good to go.

Who says you need a park to picnic? Head to Picnix Poolside Market and indulge in comfort food classics — such as creamy mac n’ cheese, crunchy chicken fingers and fresh-baked pizzas. Whether you dine poolside, down on the beach or up on the Veranda, all the ingredients you need for a perfect outing are right here.

Barefoot’s Beachside Bar and Grill is located right on the resort pool deck, overlooking the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico. Beginning at 11 a.m., Barefoot’s serves coastal-inspired handheld fare, savory shareables and light bites, seasonally. As the name suggests, no shoes are required. So toss off your sandals and tuck into a yummy snack paired with a refreshing piña colada or rum jungle. Drink in the spectacular view while luxuriating in your daily dose of vitamin D.

Do you crave fresh-from-the-sea flavors of authentic Japanese cuisine? No need to head into town, take a seat at Hadashi Sushi Bar and enjoy stunning, hand-rolled sushi, sashimi and nigiri creations — all washed down with your favorite beverage from the full-service bar.

Every evening is a celebration at Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood. Offering seasonal menus of artisanal appetizers, choice cuts of prime beef and the freshest seafood available, Seagar’s upscale ambiance is perfect for popping the question, toasting your anniversary and impressing clients.

If you’re staying in a beautiful beachfront resort guest room, why not enjoy it to the fullest? Indulge in room service and enjoy a relaxing meal with the one you love or the entire family. Though most options are from Sandcastles’ delicious dinner menu, select dishes from Seagar’s and Hadashi Sushi Bar are also available seasonally.

Whether you are hungry for some simple poolside pub fare or famished for an epicurean feast, our friendly culinary staff is ready to serve up just what you crave, from early morning to late night — and always with a helping of Southern hospitality.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner, guests can find their fill on the menu.

SEAGAR’S PRIME STEAKS & SEAFOOD

No doubt about it, Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood is a classic American steakhouse — to its marrow — featuring cuisine prepared with the best of locally sourced seasonal ingredients and a level of service unmatched in the region. Which is why AAA has declared the Seagar’s experience dining at its finest, giving it a FourDiamond rating since 2000.

When you visit Seagar’s, allow plenty of time. Sit back, take in the live pianist and order a bottle of wine. With 600 labels in the wine cellar, you’re sure to find one to pair beautifully with your meal. It’s your chance to take your time to savor a superb meal in an atmosphere of luxurious indulgence.

Menus are designed to take advantage of fresh, seasonal ingredients, and every aspect of a Seagar’s meal is given attention to detail that many restaurants might consider too time- and labor-intensive. The famous Dover sole, Steak Diane, Caesar salad, Banana Fosters and Cherries Jubilee are among the delicious dishes that are prepared with flair and flame at your table.

Seagar’s keeps an emphasis on organic produce and seasonal food to compliment its world-class standards for fine dining excellence. The culinary team works handin-hand with local farmers and purveyors — such as Arrowhead Beef in Chipley, Florida — to keep Seagar’s menu dynamic and true to the local region.

With the bounty of the Gulf of Mexico at the resort’s doorstep, seafood takes its rightful place on the menu. Indulge in options such as seared snapper and panroasted grouper, or expand your range and your palette with Maine lobster, South African cold-water lobster tails or Alaskan king crab. The Dover Sole — recently featured on the Cooking Channel’s “The Best Thing I Ever Ate” — is one of the most popular seafood dishes on the menu.

HADASHI SUSHI BAR

When you want to relax with family and friends, head to Hadashi Sushi Bar, located just off the lobby.

Traditionally trained chefs serve up beautiful, hand-rolled sushi, sashimi, nigiri and other Japanese creations with fresh-from-the-sea flavor. Choose from two-dozen specially prepared sushi rolls including classic favorites like California rolls and Spicy Tuna rolls.

Looking for something more exotic? Try the Dragon Skin roll with cucumber, eel, avocado, lump crab and eel sauce or the Volcano Roll baked with lump crab meat, green onion, cucumber, avocado, crab salad, tempura crunch and a splash of Sriracha. The assorted sashimi plate — featuring ahi tuna, salmon, yellowtail, escolar and white fish — allows you to sample a little of everything.

Toast the end of another perfect day at the beach with a shot of heated sake or an ice-cold glass of Sapporo® imported Japanese craft beer or something else from the full-service bar. Whether you want to get comfortable in the lounge to take in a game on the large-screen TV or land a large dining table that will seat the entire family, you’re guaranteed a memorable evening at Hadashi.

BAREFOOT’S BEACHSIDE BAR & GRILL

Imagine shaded seating on a sweeping outdoor deck with an “invisible” railing that affords unobstructed, expansive views of the emerald surf and sugar-white sand … listen and you can hear the lyrical beat of waves lapping ashore and smell the salty sea air. This season’s refreshing menu at Barefoot’s Beachside Bar & Grill is the perfect compliment to the postcard perfect views surrounding the restaurant.

Plenty of fruit-filled salads join traditional burgers, wraps and sandwiches on the menu this season. Seek out updated classics such as the Mango Fandango salad, which now features red onion and curry mayo to accompany fresh sliced mango.

You’ll still find popular seafood choices such as peel-and-eat shrimp, snow crab clusters and oysters on the half shell, but some dishes — such as build-your-own tacos — will be prepared with a tropical twist: think pico de gallo with mango.

After playing poolside and basking on the beach, Barefoot’s bar and The Sand Bar, open seasonally, are perfect places to cool off with your favorite brew, wine, specialty cocktail or frozen beverage. And when the temperatures lower in fall, you can look forward to snuggling up with an after-dinner drink next to the fire pit on the deck before the restaurant closes for the winter.

No need to stir yourself from your relaxing lounge chair, because Barefoot’s will come to you. Use your smart device to visit the seasonally available BarefootsOnline.com; there you can place your order for food and drinks and a “sand kicker” will deliver it to you on the beach or to your poolside perch.

THE SAND BAR & SANDKICKERS

Located right on the sands of Sandestin, The Sandbar (open seasonally) will keep you refreshed during the day with its selection of frozen tropical drinks, bottled water and signature cocktails.

SANDCASTLES RESTAURANT

Sandcastles Restaurant and Lounge, conveniently located directly off the resort lobby, is perfectly named as its menu is going “coastal.”

Highlighting the freshest local seafood that guests travel to Northwest Florida to enjoy, Sandcastles embraces the flavors of an old Florida fish house.

The menu features a variety of fresh fish from both the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean. Growing the focus on seafood, the menu includes duo appetizer plates with Gulf shrimp, Gulf oysters or Louisiana seafood gumbo.

Our all-day menu features a wider variety of seafood entrees such as royal red shrimp boil or a crispy fried oyster po’boy. Need a sushi fix? You can also order items from the Hadashi Sushi Bar menu.

Not a seafood fan? No worries, land lovers can enjoy classic burgers in addition to the Sandcastles Lounge fare.

Not only is there a variety of fish and shellfish available on the menu, but Sandcastles is also excited to embrace the trend of health conscious dining. Diners are welcome to share their preferences, whether they be vegetarian, gluten-free or have any other health and food allergy concerns.

Beyond dinner, this bright, open and airy eatery is the one restaurant at Hilton Sandestin Beach where guests can go for a gourmet breakfast buffet, lunch, dinner and late-night snacks in the Lounge.

Sandcastles also has a children’s menu that’s more extensive than most. It features breakfast, lunch and dinner items as well as snacks and desserts.

The breakfast buffet is popular with guests of every age and includes an omelet station, waffles, breakfast potatoes, sausage, bacon, seasonal fruits, cereals, yogurts and breakfast pastries freshly baked by our pastry chef.

Lunch options include gourmet salads, sandwiches, wraps and soups.

The relaxing Sandcastles Lounge, located across from the restaurant, offers a great wine list, specialty martinis and a sampling of lounge fare to indulge in.

OUR MEMORIES

• Food For Thought Outreach has partnered with Hilton Sandestin Beach for the past four years. As a local nonprofit, partners such as the Hilton Sandestin Beach make our work fighting childhood hunger possible. The team at Hilton Sandestin Beach is very generous in their support. The team goes the extra mile to ensure the small staff at Food For Thought Outreach is supported, and they take all the stress of hosting large fundraisers off our plate.

In addition to their fundraising efforts, Executive Chef Dan Vargo has been a wonderful contributor to our Emeril Lagasse FullCircle program. The Full Circle kitchen program brings middle and high school students in our area into the kitchen to learn about cooking from local chefs like Dan. The program is created to empower at-risk students to learn how to prepare food for themselves and their families.
