FADE IN: EXT. KIRSTEN’S HOUSE - DAY Johan waits outside the gate and rings the large metal bell hanging from the post box.

Kirsten opens the front door and leans in the doorway. He has a beer in the left hand and a cigarette in the other.

KIRSTEN Well what do you fucking know it.

Johan-maak-‘n-plan-Maritz.

JOHAN Hey bra.

EXT. KIRSTEN’S BACK YARD - DAY Kirsten and Johan exit the back door and walks through three rows of dove cages. Only one cage has doves in them and the SCATTER about as the men pass by.

KIRSTEN Wat hey jy alles gemis? Die hele fokkin Welkom is anders Grootseun. ‘n Paar nuwe bars hier en daar, een of twee poes aan cherries, die res kom en gaan, net soos die werk hierrond. Oh en die fokkin Casino.

Bly weg van die Casino, daai plek is n gold digger.

The men walk through the garden and pass a mobile lawn swimming pool.

JOHAN Wat hoor jy van Estelle?

KIRSTEN My tannie het gese hulle kom volgende week erens, dalk, ek weet nie verseker nie, wat ek wel weet is dit, Sy het fokkin hot geword en sy’s nou ‘n super slet.

They open another smaller gate and walk onto two rows of small puppies. Kirsten takes a bucket, opens a small tap on the lawn, then refills their water bowls.

JOHAN En die hoefie, leef daai plek nog?

KIRSTEN Die hoefie is long gone. Dis ‘n plek vol Welkom tappets.

Kirsten and Johan enter a small gardener’s hut stacked with tool’s and paint buckets. They stop at a large steel door and Kirsten takes out a key chain.

JOHAN Die laaste keer toe ek hier was was jy die main maccie daar.

Kirsten unlocks the steel door turns around and faces Johan.

KIRSTEN Dit was laas, ons lewe nou in die nou. So se my, is jy reg om die nou te hanteer.

JOHAN Waarvan praat jy?

He opens the steel door and reveals an underground illegal gold exportation operation room.

KIRSTEN Ek praat van goud.

Johan is speechless and Kirsten has an evil grin on his face as they stand in the doorway and stare into the dark tunneled room.

KIRSTEN (CONT’D) en waar daar goud is is daar geld.

EXT. DESERTED STREET - AFTERNOON

An unfinished broken down and deserted residential area just outside Welkom, a small farmer’s town in the Free State.

The SOUND of motorbikes speeding.

Five friends, JOHAN(15), CHRISTO(16), JJ(17), Henko(15) and SEOBI(16) are taking a break in the warm Welkom sunshine.

Seobi and Johan take a piss in the bushes. Henko and Christo sit on their bikes and smoking Princeton filters.

An unknown man walks on a kawasaki ninja stops near them. He climbs off and walks to them.

CHIRSTO (to Henk) Wie de fok is die naai.

Seobi looks over his shoulder at the man approaching them and accidentally pisses on Johan’s leg.

JOHAN (to Seobi) Fok Sobi.

SEOBI Check die fokkin ding.

Christo gets off his bike and walks a few steps forwards.

Henk finishes his cigarette and flicks it away. Seobi and Johan walk a few steps forwards as well.

The unknown man stops and takes off his helmet. It is ANDRIES(16). He smiles and greets them with a nerdy attitude.

ANDRIES Hoelykit ouens.

SEOBI My fok Anna.

CHIRSTO (to everyone) ANNA. Nice bra. (ha-ha) ANDRIES Ja dude my pa het my gister na skool in die garage surprise.
