From the President Fellow Tablers, Well done to all tablers that took part in the November Campaign by creating awareness for Mental Health issues and ultimately driving Impactful Change in our communities. We need to remember to reach out to our brothers during the entire year. The physical activity part has rolled over in a Side-by-Side project with Ladies Circle, with various tablers and circlers taking part in the “Holiday Challenge” . the Tablers and circlers take part in frequent running, walking, cycling, swimming activities. I have also seen various social media posts of various clubs hosting various Christmas functions for the less fortunate. Well done gents, December is the time for giving and more than ever to serve our communities. We must also keep in mind that various families struggle in January to provide adequate stationary products for their children for the school year. I am happy and proud to announce that the BMG , Free State/Stnofs/Northern Cape tri-areas and Namibia will run a “Back to School” campaign with their respective local region’s radio station. This campaign will drive Impactful Change in the relevant communities and promote RTSA within these 7 areas and frow the relationship between these areas and the relevant radio station. I know that the festive season is a busy period for some, but please do take the time to spend quality time with the family and your loved ones and please travel safely to and from your holiday destinations. December times are magical in that most if not everybody is happy and the normal day to day conflicts has taken a back seat. It also creates an opportunity to reflect on the year that was an do some planning or setting goals for the year to come. I wish you all and your families a merry Christmas and a happy new year!!! Making Waves and Creating Conversations: The Big Splash at Sandbar The Sandbar floating restaurant played host to an exciting and anticipatory event this past weekend - The Big Splash, where many gathered in the spirit of fun and camaraderie, eagerly awaiting the question of who would get wet! In a splash-worthy fashion statement, Jacques van Wyk clinched the first-place spot with his eye-popping Round Table slimsuit, setting the tone for a day filled with both style and substance. The delightful atmosphere was complemented by a side of fish and chips, specially prepared by our esteemed hosts, creating a perfect blend of flavors for all to enjoy. We're eagerly anticipating the next one and can't wait to see more of you there! But it wasn't just about the water and the wardrobe – Jacques van Wyk took a stand for an important cause, donning the latest from the 'Don't Camo Yourself' clothing range: a multi-colored lumo camo wrestling singlet. Beyond being a fashion statement, this attire served as a powerful conversation starter, focusing on the current challenges and stigma surrounding Male Mental Health issues. As part of our commitment to raising awareness, fake mustaches were sold at the event in support of the month of November and the collaborative campaign between Round Table Southern Africa and the Men's Foundation of South Africa. The Big Splash was more than just an outdoor extravaganza; it was a celebration of community and a reminder that great fellowship can be had for a great cause. This event, with its blend of fun and purpose, has the potential to become a significant annual affair, encouraging both the young and old to come together, enjoy the outdoors, and contribute to meaningful conversations that matter. Impala 157 - As jy nie snor nie, sal jy nie score nie With a fully packed year behind us and in the midst of running our “Manne aand”, Round table Impala 157 did not necessarily focus on raising fund for the course but rather awareness. As a collective we took on the motto “As jy nie Snor nie, Sal jy nie Score nie” now the scoring part is debatable and each tabler would have to elaborate on that themselves. I can however confirm that we had numerous members of our Tablers
that looked a lot like Piet Swiets and I can not confirm nor deny that all was allowed in close proximity of schools. As much as we wanted this campaign to be all inclusive, we unfortunately have members that have not been blessed with the growth of facial hair genes, however in spirit they participated all the way. But on a more serious note, at it is always said that charity starts at home and growing the mows had a certain renewed awareness of our wellbeing,

UNLOCKING WELLNESS: ROUND TABLE GAUTENG’S HEALTH WORKSHOP In the spirit of knighthood, Round Table Gauteng recently undertook a noble quest to enhance the well-being of its members as part of our Movember “Grow and Show” Campaign which took aim at the biggest challenge facing young men – The ability to speak about your problems. The journey unfolded through a transformative Health Workshop, an evening dedicated to both physical vitality and mental resilience. Knights and leaders alike gathered, driven by the ethos that a healthy brotherhood forms the cornerstone of a thriving community. The workshop, held on a warm spring evening, commenced with a riveting discourse by Mr. Munnik Marais, an electrifying speaker with three decades of experience in event planning and people management. His insights into physical health illuminated the path to a robust life, emphasizing the importance of balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and fostering mental strength. As knights absorbed these teachings, they found inspiration to fortify their own well-being. Following this, the indomitable Cobus the Viking Visser took the stage, his fiery spirit captivating the room. Cobus delved into the realm of mental health, sharing his personal journey of triumph over adversity. His words resonated with the knights, reinforcing the idea that mental fortitude is the armour that shields the spirit. The practical aspect of the workshop saw knights engaging in physical activities, from walking on broken glass that tested both strength and camaraderie to learning how to give a hug properly. Laughter echoed through the hall as knights broke barriers, not just in physical prowess but also in strengthening the bonds of brotherhood. As the day concluded and we ending in a great social event, the workshop left an indelible mark on the young men of Round Table Gauteng and our newfound guests, a reminder that a knight's journey involves not only external battles but the internal quest for well-being. The bonds forged during this evening of shared growth will undoubtedly resonate, echoing the commitment of modern knights to embody not just strength in body, but resilience in mind. Thus, Round Table continues to champion a holistic approach to health, ensuring its members stand strong, united, and ready for the noble quests that lie ahead. A shout out to Round Table Edenvale 63 for the use of their clubhouse, all the members of Round Table Gauteng that attended and our newfound guests who attended the evening with us. Dean Pedro League 2023 Stutterheim Round Table 103 Stutterheim Round Table 103 brought the cricketing community together once again for the much-anticipated annual Dean Pedro League (DPL) on 18 November 2023. Hosted in memory of the late Dean "Noddy" Pedro, this event has become a cherished tradition for the community, fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship. Six businesses vied for the coveted title of DPL Champion 2023 in a thrilling six-a-side cricket tournament. The cricket field transformed into a hub of excitement and friendly competition as families gathered for a day of fun and action. The unique team composition added an extra layer of challenge, requiring each team to include a Tabler, a player over 45, and a lady – ensuring that everyone, regardless of age or gender, was an integral part of the festivities. The Stutterheim heat did little to dampen spirits as participants, both young and old, embraced the energy of the day. The cricketing battles were accompanied by ample hydration, thanks to the warm hospitality of Stutterheim. The sense of community and shared joy was palpable, creating an atmosphere where memories were made and friendships strengthened. In a display of exceptional skill and determination, the Wauldby Rams emerged victorious, securing the DPL title for the second consecutive year. Their achievement not only showcased their cricketing prowess but also highlighted the spirit of resilience and teamwork that defines the essence of the DPL. The success of the event would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors who rallied behind Round Table 103. Heartfelt appreciation goes to Stutterheim Country Club, Newden, Bolo Club, Wauldby, Rance Timber, Square Deal Engineers, Stutt Poles, CJ Scholes & Son, Big Daddy’s Liquor, and Stutterheim High School. Their commitment and contribution played a crucial role in bringing the DPL to life, enriching the community spirit and fostering lasting connections. As Round Table 103 reflects on another memorable DPL, the fellowship among Tablers and the Stutterheim community remains at the heart of this cherished tradition. The Dean Pedro League continues to be a testament to the power of sport in uniting people, celebrating diversity, and creating lasting bonds. Association of Southern Africa understands that Round Table Southern Africa is their past and their future. Because of this common understanding both organisations undertake to work together to achieve the following goals:
1.To ensure the growth and continuity of each organization in all geographic areas, each organization will assist the other in creating
and strengthening the number of clubs and/or members in areas where assistance is required. The aim is to increase membership for the mutual benefit of each organisation. 2.RTSA will encourage all Tablers leaving Table to become 41ers by joining the 41ers Association. 3.The 41ers Association will continuously encourage their members to identify potential Round Table members within their families, friends or workplace. The aim is that with the increase of quality members for Round Table, the eventual benefit will be additional members to the 41ers Association. 4. The 41ers Association will be given an opportunity to host an information “kuier” at ARTSA with Tablers leaving Table at said ARTSA. 5. The RTSA VP will invite the 41er Exec to attend Shadow Assco where the two Execs will meet to discuss the year ahead. 6. Each organisation will invite the Vice-President or representative to attend their AGM and cover the registration and accommodation cost for the delegate and his partner. The aim is to cement friendship between these organisations.
7. At the above-mentioned event the aim is to discuss and ensure the above is achieved or make necessary changes to the aims or outcomes that want to be reached. It is recognized by both organizations that member clubs can only be encouraged to do the following: a) Create links between RTSA and the 41ers Association and international websites. b) To mutually publish articles in each other's magazines.
c) The RTSA and 41ers Association Presidents write to outgoing RTSA members about the benefits of joining the 41ers Association. d) Encourage local Tables and 41er clubs/branches to meet regularly. e) Any other methods of encouraging mutual growth for both organizations. 8. This Memorandum of Understanding will be reviewed and signed every two years by the boards of the respective organisations to discuss updates or changes. “ ThE ”God Father” Appreciation Post Dear Marinus, We at Kirkwood 78 would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all that you have done not only for our table or our area, but for Round Table Southern Africa and beyond. Recently, we want to thank you for the assistance you provided when we as Kirkwood 78 had the priviledge to host 2nd ASSCO. We all know that you are not someone who likes to be in the spotlight or have a big deal made from, but for all your time, effort, support, willingness to always help, donations and the list goes on and on, we feel that a “big deal” thank you must be sent your way. Set aside all the material things you provide us with, we would also like to thank you for the part that you play in so many of our lives. Weather it being the role you portray as friend, mentor or tabler, in your own special way, your presence it felt by all. You will always be a huge and integral part of our table and there will for always be a seat in our clubhouse, at our functions and meetings with the name Marinus “The God Father” Rautenbach on it. EP Spring Conference 2023 - Kirkwood Over the past two days Kirkwood Round Table 78 had the privilege of hosting the 2023 Edition of the Round Table Eastern Province Area Spring conference. The conference kicked off on Friday evening with an awesome fellowship between tablers, 41er’s and their families. The evening was filled with great laughs, delicious braaivleis and great company. On Saturday we held our Spring Conference meeting, which was held in a very professional and fun manner, befitting our Area Chairman Nico
Scheinder. Congratulations on a well-run and successful meeting to you and your committee Mr. Chair!! Well done to Cradock 37 on winning the “steek jou dood” challenge after the meeting. The ladies and children enjoyed a lovely ladies tour that was also filled with great laughs. The weekend ended with a steak braai at Annerkant Venue last night where we all got together for a last fellowship of the

Story of a Tabler, Hein Joubert Hein Joubert grew up on a citrus farm in the Sundays River valley, hunting, fishing, water skiing and building things that fly, shoot, or drive in his past time. He completed school in Kirkwood, and really enjoyed the freedoms which growing up on a farm has to offer. In his matric year his science teacher convinced him to enter one of his projects into a science expo, where he won a few prizes and a bursary to pursue mechanical engineering at Stellenbosch University. Hein really enjoyed his degree and won the prize for the best final year project in mechanical engineering upon his graduation in 2016. In 2018, he furthered
his studies by completing a master's degree in mechanical engineering with a specialization in concentrated solar energy. Following the completion of his studies, Hein embarked on a professional journey at an engineering company in Cape Town before returning to the Sundays River valley just before the onset of the Covid pandemic. Hein is currently the co-director at Katbatt, a company producing locally manufactured Lithium batteries for the housing, electric farming vehicle and golf cart market.

Ballots of Allegiance: Upholding Democratic Ideals and Patriotic Duty amongst the membership of Round Table Southern Africa The practice of participating in elections, including the act of casting a deliberately spoiled vote or an intentional abstention, aligns seamlessly with the obligations created by the Aims and Objectives of Round Table Southern Africa to “cultivate the highest ideals in business, professional and civic traditions” and to “foster responsible citizenship and loyalty to their Country.” This logic must equally apply to Tablers of all other nations. By being IEC compliant and engaging in the act of voting, South African Tablers demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards of civic tradition. It is a practice that goes beyond mere compliance - it is an active engagement in the processes that shape the governance and future direction of their community and country. In business and professional realms, such commitment reflects a dedication to transparency, accountability, and ethical participation, which are cornerstones of good governance and responsible leadership. Furthermore, the act of voting—even through spoiling a ballot or choosing to abstain—is an expression of fostering responsible citizenship. It is a conscious decision that reflects a citizen's understanding of their role in a democratic society. It serves as a reminder to the country's leaders that their authority derives from the will of the people, who require their policies and actions to be in line with the nation's values and expectations. This practice exemplifies ‘loyalty to one's country’. Loyalty does not imply unquestioning acceptance but rather encompasses a deeper sense of allegiance and commitment to the nation's welfare and progress. By participating in the electoral process, members of the Round Table Southern Africa are upholding the democratic ethos of their country, contributing to its democratic health, and advocating for a system that resonates with the principles of good citizenship and the collective aspirations of its people. Spreading Early Christmas Joy Carletonville50's Christmas in November project, made possible by the funds raised at our recent golf day, was a heartening experience alongside the Rotalia Center for people with disabilities. Our goal was simple: to share the holiday spirit with this special group in our community. The day was a blast! The Rotalia crew, along with their amazing staff, joined in the fun. And guess what added a touch of magic? Christmas Vader's grand entrance in an ambulance from Gladiator Community Protection! It was a fantastic surprise that set the tone for a day filled with smiles and enjoyment. Everyone got presents – that was a must. But here's the thing: what these people really wanted was our time and love. We played games that had everyone laughing and having a blast. After a delicious lunch, we all gathered for a special moment – dancing to Bernice West's hit song "Die Here het ons mooi gemaak." It filled our hearts with joy and wrapped up the day on the happiest note. This day wasn't just about the Rotalia crew; it was about all of us in the Carletonville50 family. A big shoutout to businesses and community folks who got involved – whether by contributing or being part of the action. Your presence made this day extra special. It's more than just a holiday event; it's a reminder that what everyone truly wants is our time and love. A massive thank you to everyone who played a role in making this Christmas in November project a success. Swingin' for Good Charity Golf Day Hits the Greens Friday, November 3, Carletonville50 threw an epic charity golf day at Goldfields West Carletonville. They teamed up with STNOFS area and Stillfontein53 to make it a massive success, drawing players and tablers from all around.

Build up to KOSH Kids In our community’s big mission, the KOSH Kids Project shone bright, touching the lives of over 400 children in KOSH. This massive effort became our most significant project, driven by our unity and a shared goal of making a positive impact on these young lives. Our path to KOSH Kids had its hurdles, but our community faced them head-on with creativity and determination. To gather funds for essential stationery, we organized a two-day braai where we cooked up 1000 delicious wors to perfection. NWSOD Annual Bar Takeover Triumph In a whirlwind of creativity and camaraderie, the annual North West School of Design (NWSOD) event took an exhilarating turn as our dedicated team 45 orchestrated a bar takeover for over 800 attendees. The mission was clear: not only to shake up a night of fun but also to raise funds for our upcoming charity endeavors and set the stage for the exciting plans on our horizon. The challenge of running our own bar was met with enthusiasm and a shared sense of purpose. From mixing drinks to managing the crowd, each team member played a crucial role in transforming the event into a bustling hub of activity. The NWSOD bar became more than just a place to grab a drink; it became a testament to our ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and bring joy to others. As we worked hard behind the bar, there was also a chance for some of us to take a breather and appreciate the designs and models that adorned the venue. Chicken Braai 2023 The round Table Potchefstroom 47 has an annual event which they call they call the Chicken Braai and this year the event took place on Saturday the 04th of November 2023. This project is not there to raise funds for the public but could be seen as the yearly party and an opportunity to raise a bit of funds for the clubhouse. The idea is that all the members of RT47 come together at the clubhouse and have a massive party and day with our friends, family and loved ones. We call it the Chicken Braai because that is exactly what we do… We braai chickens for an entire day whilst having fun and staying hydrated around the fires. It is always a massive success as we are joined by the local Rotary Club and past Tablers or 41ers. Since this was attempt number two, it was a bit of a confusing story as we ran around to finalize everything after we were forced to postpone the original date. However, in true Tabler spirit we were all eager to help and assist to make sure that the show would go on. This for me personally showed our dedication and commitment to our projects as it is sometimes difficult to continue with a tradition if one skipped a year or two. Regardless, on that fine Saturday morning, the gents rocked up at roughly 07h00 to start preparations for the day. The mood and atmosphere were already lively as for most, it was their first time at a Chicken Braai. Décor went up, tables
were set, fires were burning, and the music filled the air of our little piece of earth in Potchefstroom. We were eager to get this show on the road and waited patiently for the clock to strike 12h00 and for the guest to start pulling in. Not sure if it is because of their age or their well learned manners, but our first wave of people were the past Tablers or 41ers. They always support with great passion and commitment, and we rewarded them with a quick Jaggie and a cold drink to mingle with. We had the opportunity to exchange stories about their previous event at the Chicken Braai and caught up with what was going on in their lives. Soon the tides changed, and we were suddenly filled with people attending from here, there, and everywhere. The party have begun and we as the convenors were in the heart of it… We started to line up our fires and grilles for what laid ahead, 150 pieces of Chubby Chick Chickens. The smell enticed the people attending to join the conversations at the fires and they soon became experts on the perfect cooked chicken. Luckily for us, the gents from RT47 were up for the challenge and we did not need to many pointers. The ladies began serving up plates with a variety of salads and rolls and we put the main attraction on top as it was the only space left on the plate. The day continued with laughter and stories and full bellies all over. Children

were running around and playing with their mates they knew and those they just met. It was a joyful occasion and heartwarming to see that a simple thing like this could attract so many people at once who shared our passion and love for each other and the Table. Daytime turned into nighttime or rather almost daytime again and people slowly made their way to their transport units after a massive party at the bar. Compliments were received and gratefulness were returned on the way out. Takeaways were taken with as most people could not have finished such a plate. The gents came together for one last round as we took in what we just accomplished and appreciated each other and the work we did. Followed with a quick and powerful cleanup, we locked the doors and parted our ways for a good sleep. It is confirmed that it was truly a massive success, and we want to thank all who attended and helped with making the day possible. Hosting an old Brother from across the DAM With very few notice and with very few time to plan an expedition, the Gents of RT47 made a week happen like no other… To give a short backstory, Christer from RT47 Karlstad in Sweden was a temporary honorary member for two years in Potchefstroom when his wife decided to come and study again at the NWU. Seeing that we were a sister club for him, the 41er spend the years of 2021 & 2022 with us before they headed back to Sweden to resume normal life. So when the man from the north rang us up to inform us that he will be attending with his wife for her graduation, we quickly made a plan to host them and give them a jolly old good time. They arrived on a Monday morning in Potchefstroom and got some sleep in before we met up with them to have a fun braai, which they obviously missed a lot and caught up on all that is currently happening in their lives in their homeland. We exchanged stories and reminisced about the past as we enjoyed a feast and social gathering. It can be said that this was however the peaceful evening as Maggie was scheduled to be at the university early Tuesday morning. Graduation Day! While some of us had to work or had other responsibilities to
attend to, the Swedes had a fun day at the NWU and obviously the main attraction was to graduate as well. We met up with them shortly afterwards and then we felt like celebration was in order. Tables were pushed together, and 16 friends had dinner, drinks, and fun with the mindset of having our family back. The night was beautiful and so much fun! We celebrated each other, and Maggy especially, enjoyed each other and were thankful for what we had in this moment. Then it was Wednesday. Whilst the two travellers slept in, the rest of us again had to work or had other responsibilities for the day. But the evening there was no such thing and plans were again made to spoil and treat our friends. We decided that you can never get enough meat in from a braai, and the plan was formed to make homemade burgers with a side dish of corn, which is obviously fitting for Potchefstroom. Once again, we discussed all thing possible and had fun whilst doing so. We forgot about time, and we just lived for the moment. After Wednesday comes Thursday and Thursday means Meeting Day. For a special treat, we arranged that we should have our social meeting then and there to accommodate our old brother and to show him that we are still going strong. We made a point of it to invite

all the comrades he Tables with as well as the new faces on the block. You could see it was a very special moment for Christer and that he truly enjoyed the meeting aspect extremely so. We had the opportunity to ask him through the Table to address the youngsters on international travel and to encourage such ventures. Weekend showed up and for one last time we had the privilege to host for one last gathering. After the night before, the tally was a bit lower, but the impact remained the same. Good oldfashioned steaks with chips and beer were served and a feast was had once more. It was sad to think of the flight back the following day, but we limited those emotions till the very end. It was good to see our family again and to enjoy such an impulsive week with them in our town all the way across the dam. It was well deserved for us all and heartwarming too. Showcasing once again that with Table everything is possible and that relationships will never fade. The start of a new career a different type of Career I all started with a Chicken braai and weekend of gees, fees en Brannas well maybe more like R&R. This was Chicken braai 2022 on 24th of September, I had some braai day plans of my own but rather was invited to attend the Flagships Chicken braai. Now this was my first exposure to the Round Table, there were quite a few excursions after that, that made it even better. But I am not writing to reminisce about the past or rather not that far in the past. The date was the 15 of August 2023, I was invited to a Whiskey Draw with our Chairman when most of the members of our table rocked up. Turned out that the gent wanted to invite me into the Brotherhood of the Round Table Potch 47 and of course everyone else who is and has been a Tabler. We had some good Whiskey and was talking about this and that when the other gents showed up. The conversation changed a bit after they showed up. The guy's told me to take your time to think it through but since my first meeting as a guest at Table I knew I wanted to be a part of the organisation. Being so single it's scary I did not need to consult with anyone or anything. Hannes Lourens was going to accept the invite to join the Round Table Potch 47. I received the Adopt Adapt Improve coin from our Chairman Mr. Christo Du Plessis - Check him out for your legal needs ;). And the fellowship mug was passed on to me by the Area Chairman Mr. Mike Menezes. Our next social meeting was Thursday night the 17 of August and my name was added to the Agenda for the last time as a guest. The whole week, not the whole year of becoming a pipeliner and now a Tabler was a journey that really made me into a more mature and different type of Person. The one thing I can say is that when our Sec Wouter told me this was the Start of a table career he was right. So we recently watched the Rugby World cup and for many Tablers I believe this was a stressful and exiting time. Now in Potch there is alot of places one can watch the rugby. For instance at the Elgro hotel which some off you know because of the Vat ‘n Bietjie Potch Tri area. The world cup kick off for South Africa was the Scotland game. In Potchefstroom we have a couple of 41 er’s from our table and from a few other table’s like no. 1, 88 and 72 and so on. One of our 41 er’s Mr. Craigh Comfort invited us to his guest farm for the Start of the Bokke’s world cup. The spirits were high during this first braai, there was no stress, after the game we had one big party. We made a promise the 41 er’s and the Tablers that if the Bokke make the final we would do it again. This time the atmosphere was different; tensions was high and although we were happy to see one another again we could not get the 1 point wins out of our heads. The spectators at this braai setup differently we pulled close to the TV and no one was stepping out to smoke. We were al at the tips of our seats, some of the guys was video calling their brothers to watch the game in America and other were stress drinking alot. The 50 or so of us was so quiet the last 90 seconds of the Final that one could only hear the TV. But after the final whistle blew, we were so loud one could not here anything, other gents lost their voices. The atmosphere of relief that blew over the spectators was instant. There was alot of joy and pride in our Bokke and the guy’s went crazy. This just shows that through table one can make friend from many different places, backgrounds and ages. Welkom 40 - Raid Harrismith 140 & Ficksburg 98 Robby Du Plessis and the Free State Area Vice Chairman candidate Stephan Theunissen decided to take a long weekend to the eastern Free State with a raid to Harrismith and Ficksburg, if Bethlehem was available we would have probably raided them too. Harrismith hosted us at their clubhouse with a social meeting and braai, and it was a great evening to spend time with the members. Thank you Koos Maartens for home-hosting us and can’t wait for the visit to Welkom. The next morning we took the scenic route to Ficksburg with a pitstop in Clarens to enjoy the view from Clarens breweries. We went to the farm of Vice Chairman Phillipe Fouche where he and the Chairman Christo Potgieter hosted us. We had a full day schedule which included quad biking, shooting, and braaing. Thank you Ficsburg for moving your Meeting to a Friday Night to enable us to see how you run your meetings. Thank you again for a great time and can’t wait for your visit to Welkom. Welkom 40 Bowling for Boobies with OFM Welkom 40 had the great opportunity to be part of a great project hosted by OFM called Bowling for boobies to raise money for Breast cancer awareness. It all started when the chairman of Welkom 40 Hennie Breytenbach and the area Chairman Jurgen Schoeman were approached by Anchen and Bianca from OFM who asked if we could help with ticket sales and to braai the evening of the event for the guests. The event was at Welkom Bowling Club and it was an eventful day with a lot of rain pouring down just before the bowling needed to start, but luckily the rain stopped for a while and the bowling commenced. There was excellent fellowship between tablers and visiting tablers from the Northern Cape. The evening was a great success and OFM also donated 25% of all ticket sales to Welkom 40 for an amount of R11 000. Welkom 40 held a “Cars in the park” day, a joint project together with Old Auto club, with an estimated 1300 Feet on the day, with approximately 70 hours of man hours. We had a fantastic day, with tons of fellowship, branding, and great exposure, and lots for the community, we ran the gates of the entire project as well as our own “Boerewors” roll stand. We received R5000 from the Old Auto club and made another R2800 on the boerewors roll stand. This was also featured in the local news Paper the Vista. 13 July 2023, Bloem 25 had our final meeting in our Bush Pub clubhouse. Due to the premises being sold we were asked to vacate the clubhouse however this had no damping effect on the mood of the final meeting. We would however like to thank Bush Pub for availing the premises to us for the last 3 years. We were joined by 2 raiding tables, Welkom 40 and Bloem 158, the meeting went smoothly, and the sergeant did his very best to keep everyone in line. The agenda was moved through rather swiftly as to get to the fellowship as soon as possible. What made this evening more special was the fact that Welkom 40 and Bloem 158 were the only two tables to attend the opening of the Bloem 25 clubhouse in 2020. So, it was a fitting end to the tenure of the clubhouse, the three tables that started it were also the three that ended it. Many memories as well as projects were successfully run form that clubhouse as well as many good moments of fellowship. While Bloem 25 will be “homeless” for a while, we are still carrying on as best we can to drive Impactful Change and be the difference we want to see in the community. OFM – Bowling 4 Boobies October has always been the “Pink Month” nationwide and well known for hosting drives, fund raisers and donatory events in suppor t of Br east Cancer Awar eness. Being par t of the central south African community one should know by now that an event like this, casually slots in with one of the 3 impor tant 3 B’s in our r egion, with the other 2 being l eft to the imagination of our r eaders and fellow Tabl ers. OFM gave us as Round Tabl e 25 the oppor tunity to form par t of this gr eat initiative wher e the final goal was to raise R500 000 within the month of October in aid of CANSA SA; a goal which was surpassed by a long shot. With very littl e effor t from our end we took car e of the other 2 B’s on the day as well as some gees and of course the fellowship which comes with it. In conjunction with Round Tabl e Bloemfontein 158, the day turned out to be a huge success. Keeping the end goal in mind, we do believe that the object was met which is to aid CANSA in making a massive differ ence in br east cancer patients and survivors’ lives. Although Bowling 4 Boobies is still in its infancy phase, the potential is ther e to become one of the most sought after social events in the Freestate, whil e raising funds for a good. Round Table Grahamstown 11 Update The last three months in Grahamstown Makanda have been a festive occasion with Running, Rugby, Restaurants and Raids all contributing to a great middle quarter of the Tabling year. July started with the distribution of Winter Knights collections alongside the Joza Police department amongst townspeople and specifically a local orphanage caring for over 30 children aged three months to 16 years! A special thanks to the Joza SAPS for their support during this endeavour. Grahamstown 11 further supported primary schools, soup kitchens, hospice, and other local NGOs and charities, distributing R7658.00 over the last three months. Our Tablers got together for a bit of “over-the-counter” fellowship alongside a local pop-up restaurant in late July/ early August. The restaurant ran over
three weekends, allowing Grahamstown 11 to showcase our beautiful clubhouse (not so-beautiful members) to the public. Alongside the restaurant, the RWC2023 allowed for further fellowship (and many would agree, heart attacks) as our Tablers cheered on the Boks through the playoffs! Since Winter Con, some of our members have also been getting out of Makhanda with a small raid to Adelaid 194. As always, the boys in Adelaide delivered with a good meeting and lots of “gees”. Thanks, chaps. The long and tedious drive to Graaf Reinet was another good travelling opportunity taken up by some of the Grahamstown Tablers; unfortunately for most, it was a workfilled weekend, and they could not attend. The highlight of the last couple of months

was the November business meeting, which saw an unexpected but welcomed raid by the former Grahamstown 11 Tabler and former Umhlanga 155 Chairman Jono Bellingan riad our meeting alongside a couple of 41ers. In true fashion, the meeting was disruptive, boisterous and unmanageable. The 41ers and Mr Belligan reminded us again of the importance of fellowship and tabling alongside one another. They also left a lasting impression on the two guests in attendance, showing them what true tabling is all about. To the last quarter of the 2023/24 year! This limitation added an element of creativity and resourcefulness to the event, as participants had to find affordable, reliable, and charming vehicles to tackle the journey. Round Table Football C.U.P. 2023 The Round Table Football Cup is not one to miss when you are in Walvis Bay in November. It’s when this beautiful coastal town's workforce battle it out for bragging football rights, free marketing and amazing prizes to be won by the best performing players and teams. But most importantly it’s when our most appreciated companies and round table come together to uplift the community in this big project through donations, entry fees and sponsorships. This year the project had its first ever Netball Cup which saw four teams battle it out for amazing prizes and contributions to the community. In all this high intensity fun and competition members of Roundtable Walvis Bay 36 give their time to organize and make sure this event runs smoothly as well as later on distributing the funds raised to those in need in our community. A lot of tasks are divided among roundtable members and I was fortunate enough to be at the announcers table where the footballing action was visible from all angles. I witnessed players give their all to battle for the trophy including some amazing goals from Denver of Benguella Eagles FC and a goal celebration from Charles of the Namibian Pie Company strikers. Definitely one for the cameras. I captured a few amazing pictures during the course of match day 1 and 2, some selfies with supporters and the medics who did an amazing job on all 3 evenings. I also conjured some courage to speak on the microphone in front of people as I was asked to announce all man of the match awards. It was a beautiful experience I think my roundtable chairman wants me to be the club’s MC now😁. It was a lot of fun and exciting experience, if you missed it make sure to put it on your to do list for November next year. UNICEF’S WORLD CHILDREN DAY There is an African proverb that says, “It takes a village to raise a child”. The UNICEF goodwill ambassador Mrs. Yvonne Chaka Chaka quoted this proverb in her speech at the World Children’s Day Welcome Dinner in Walvis Bay on Friday the 17th of November 2023. In her remarkable speech she called upon the community (“the village”) of Walvis Bay to come together and strengthen child welfare systems because it takes a village to raise a child. In particular, the disadvantaged and less fortunate. One such welfare system is our very own Sunshine Walvis Bay Child and Family Centre who hosted this fun filled WCDW dinner which had various delegations from Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Among which a new table member in myself was fortunate to be invited and attend to represent Round Table Walvis Bay 36. RTWB36 was among the partners in recognition that evening for the continued donation of the building facility being utilized by the SWBCF Centre and maintenance thereof. The theme for this year’s celebrations was Inclusion for every child, which Mrs. Yvonne reiterated with a vision that children should be heard and should be seen. And there was a lot to witness from the children at the dinner. From dance performances, poems, to song performance by SWBCF Centre featuring the legend herself Mrs. Yvonne, Namibia’s gospel sensation Maranatha Goroh, and the classic Dollar. The performances were all captivating, entertaining, and some got the audience quite emotional to see children with physical challenges perform so beautifully with their hearts. The passion the children gave was not short inspirational and we were all kept engaged through the evening that felt short. As they say time flies when you are having fun.
Apart from Mrs. Yvonne, other speakers also graced the stage with word of encouragement and recognition of the work being done and to inspire more work to be done to improve and continue to grow child welfare systems. Among these speakers was His Worship, the mayor of Walvis Bay, Trevino Forbes who started us off with paying respects to the children that are losing their lives due to violence and negligence across Africa. His worship looked amazing up on the stage with his regalia shining with leadership, one would easily confuse him for a round table chairman. He closed his remarks by calling the region with representatives present at the dinner to amplify the voices of our future leaders. The first Paralympic gold medalist in Namibia’s history Ms. Johanna Benson also graced the stage with special praise from Mrs. Yvonne and a standing ovation from the crowd for her historic achievements as she is one of the children that came up through the SWBCF Centre welfare system among others that have managed to get full time jobs and become productive members of the community. Showing that disability should not be regarded as inability, words that were echoed by the director of ceremonies. The executive director Ms. Luzelle Lestrade also spoke and gave special thanks and recognition to all donors and partners of SWBCF Centre. Among those mentioned were the teaching stuff who sacrifice a lot to make sure daily operations continue even though they do not get paid, the active board of directors, Walvis Bay municipality, Round Table WB36, Welwitschia Hospital, Walvis Bay Salt Company, to mention a few. She closed of by announcing that their goal at the Sunshine Center is to generate income to cover at least 50% of their expenses by 2026. They are currently at 30% which the

majority of comes from their catering and baking projects. One of the highlights of the evening was when Mrs. Yvonne and her Princess of Africa Foundation donated ten thousand Namibian Dollars. This gesture started a pledging war which ended up raising a total of one hundred and twenty-six thousand Namibian dollars from The Mayor’s Office, UNICEF, Maranatha Goroh, and a group of local children from Walvis Bay. Mrs. Yvonne closed off the speeches by challenging all the visiting countries and Africa at large to let children be children, let them grow, and let them learn. Let us empower them! From the evening I gathered that our communities throughout Africa and the world need to continue to recognize and promote agents of goodwill because they make the world a better place for children to grow, learn, and have a prosperous future. At this point in the evening, I was saturated with words of inspiration and powerful emotions of gratitude for all that are working tirelessly to look after children that are disadvantaged and neglected. By the time dinner was served I could barely eat, meat became dessert and there is always space for dessert no matter what. I called it a night with a very full stomach and plenty of smiles and selfies. To my fellow Tablers, I am inspired by the amazing work you do in your communities, and I look forward to work with this beautiful organization that brings impactful change. Celebrating the Boks! Round Table No.1 East London hosted an unforgettable fundraiser centred around the Rugby World Cup final. Held on a thrilling evening, this event marked one of their most significant steak nights, drawing in numerous members of the public for an unforgettable gathering. The atmosphere was electric as attendees poured in, filling the venue with an air of anticipation and excitement. The aroma of sizzling steaks wafted through the air, setting the stage for an evening that promised not only delicious food but also an array of entertainment and shared experiences. Before the Rugby World Cup final took centre stage, the attendees were treated to a lively evening featuring music bingo and live entertainment. Laughter and cheerful banter filled the space, creating an ambiance of joy and togetherness. The excitement was palpable, and the hall was decked in a sea of green and gold.
As the much-anticipated rugby match began, the room buzzed with fervour. Mr T’s Nam Area Experience The anticipation I had for the October Namibia Area Conference 2023 cannot be reduced to words. I was very excited and looking forward to this event which had many highlights to write about. I found Chris and Monique having a smoke in front of my house as they eagerly waited to pick me up after work at 1.15 pm on very warm Friday the 13th afternoon. It was such a beautiful day for one associated with many negative superstitions. We loaded up my bags and we were on our way to Swakopmund. This very short drive was long enough for Chris to have me redefine what I call strange music. We fuelled up in 145 territory and started off what felt like a very long drive where we witness strange drivers that frustrated our driver to an unplanned lay-by stop. Eventually we made it to the Smokey Mare, the would-be venue. The reception warm, loud from RT36 and welcoming from everyone as most tablers had already arrived and fellowshipping at the venue. Drinks were served while we waited for diner. Members of Hochland invited me to play a game of billiard pool with them, a moment they would soon rue because they underestimated a man from Walvis Bay. My host, Sathy, was threating to make me sleep outside if I didn’t let him win at least one game. The food eventually came and after the night was now late, but my host had other plans than to go and show his guest where he was sleeping. If it wasn’t for the highly anticipated meeting the following morning, I doubt we would’ve gone home.
For a couple of tablers who slept at 4.30 in the morning we were up early for the area business meeting that started somewhat on time as Chris and I were not looking at the watch but rather our aims and objectives to resight at our induction, plus the mysterious table song not known to tablers. The long meeting went well as many important issues were discussed, but my highlight of the day was being able to resight our aims and objectives in front of the Namibia Area Table family. The induction went smoothly except for the absent induction packages but it was an honour standing in front of all of you to make this commitment. I am looking forward to help further the aims and objectives of Round Table Southern Africa in my community and personal life. After we were released by the area chairman, we went for lunch, and I was looking forward to catching up on some missed sleep as my host promised more of the same party from the previous night. I did take my sleep as the brain had ordered but we slightly overslept and lost time I need to prepare my glow sticks properly for the evening. But after arriving at the venue, we came up with something that wasn’t too bad. The neon party was fun packed as it was lined up to have the buffalo induction, the boat races, award ceremony and most importantly dinner. It was during and after dinner that I decided to sell myself for the numbers box draws. As the box was getting more and more attention, I was getting disliked by tablers and their partners who were drawing big numbers from the box.

During this money box craze I also had a great honour of receiving pins from Tami the president of Ladies’ circle Namibia herself. The fun and joy that came with this event can not be reduced to words. Here is but only a few. The pool games continued into the night, the fellowship, the cheers. The conversations, meeting people, learning about Sathy’s big city ambitions, his knowledge about Jägermeister and more cheers as the last man standing contest continues. Sathy could not be defeated so we headed out to more party. I danced into the night celebrating my induction as the rest of the tablers went to their homes, including some that missed their beds so much they couldn’t spend another night away. Even though there wasn’t much night left. Going to sleep at 5.00 am and travelling that same morning is probably not a good idea but it was worth it. We woke up 2 hours later than we had planned but Sathy, Monique, Chris, Mario, and I met up at Grove Mall and we had breakfast and on last chat with our Windhoek brothers before we started of our return journey. At approximately 5.00 pm we were safely back in Walvis Bay, home of the best table that took almost all the area trophies. 36! Yours in Table, Taonga (Mr T, Black unicorn)
Walvis Bay 36 Knobel Championship The First leg of the second ever Westerdale Knobel Trophy started on 21 February 2023, dubbed Knobel on Tuesdays. We met weekly on Tuesdays at 6pm where we’d have play some amazing games of Knobel. The league started off amazing with some fierce competition. 15 Weeks went by with games every Tuesday. A total of 31 players competed over the course of the league. Melissa Kotze took first place at the end of the league with Brian at a close second place. On Saturday 21 October we had the “Finals”. Each player present received 50 points, but each leg (Been) they received was minus 5 points. We played 10 games with no eliminations. After these types of tournaments there must be a winner. Top 3 are: 3rd Place – Leigh Westerdale 2nd Place – Sammy (Wynand’s Guest) 1st Place – Brian Langer Congratulations to Brian for winning the tournament. You have been very competitive. Meet our Pipeliners! Meet our Pipeliners! We chat to Barney and ask him what does being a Pipeliner at No.1 mean to you? "My experience so far has been nothing short of amazing. I remember a few months ago, when I was invited to my first Table meeting as a guest. I didn't know what to expect. I was nervous and was going through a particularly rough patch, but the Tablers at number 1 welcomed me with open arms. One of the first things I noticed was the strong sense of camaraderie and solidarity amongst the Tablers; it's something that I had never witnessed or experienced before. Among the diverse group of individuals, I found that the relationships formed here were similar to those of a true brotherhood. The atmosphere fosters unwavering support, respect, and a shared commitment to personal and collective growth. I have witnessed people from different walks of life come together as brothers, forming connections that transcend superficial differences. As I reflect on my journey within this community, I'm reminded that it's more than just a group—it's a family. The bonds formed extend beyond our meetings and events. They are a support system for one another, celebrating each other's achievements and offering a helping hand during challenging times. The sense of belonging and unity within this brotherhood is truly unparalleled. In my time here, I've learned that it's not only about the topics we discuss or the ideas we share but the genuine connections we build. This experience has left an indelible mark on my life, reinforcing the belief that true brotherhood transcends the boundaries of superficiality and that the value of shared commitment is immeasurable. The Carpenter's House Author Unknown An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family. The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career. When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front-door key to the carpenter. "This is your house," he said, "my gift to you." What a shock! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well. So it is with us. We build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up less than the best. At important points we do not give the job our best effort. Then with a shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had realized that we would have done it differently. Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely. It is the only life you will ever build. Even if you live it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity. The plaque on the wall says, "Life is a do-it-yourself project." Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today.

Walvis Bay 36 Helps the Papmansion It is rare to find a person who would open their home for children who come from less fortunate homes who cannot afford to feed them every day with all the nutrients they need to grow and develop, provide sanitary needs or clothing for general health and hygiene. With that said it has been a blessing to have the pleasure of meeting one such diamond in the rough, Ms Barbra Kavita of the Papmansion. Barbra has been opening her home, dubbed Papmansion by locals, to children of the less fortunate and struggling households in her community of Kuisebmund Walvis Bay since as early as 2004. She is taking care of her own son and three foster children. She has been working as the secretary for Kuisebmund Secondary School and supports most of the Papmansion from her own pocket but occasionally from donor organizations and private sponsors. Barbra and the Papmansion runs a soup kitchen that cooks and feeds the children from her neighborhood and beyond on Saturdays in the afternoon. She gets the help to prepare the food from her son and some of the children from the community she helps take care of. What I found most inspiring about the children is that the ones that grew
up through Papmansion often come back to assist in food preparations, clean up, and occasionally with food parcels from those that are now working. The help that Barbra gives to these children goes beyond feeding. Most of these children have found Ms Kavita’s house as a place to come and hang around with friends, play games, and sometimes study or do homework. Some of the kids come and stay with her for more than a day some even weeks, Barbra does not turn anyone away. The kids are usually running away from unfortunate home circumstances, neglected or unwanted. She has provided home to some children that lost their homes in shack fires in the past. When they are feeding on Saturdays, they make sure that they enjoy it, dance, and sing along to popular Amapiano hits. The soup kitchen is always lively, and everyone filled with joy and smiles all round. Children from the community also come for sanitary pads, soap, deodorants, and old clothes that Barbra also collects from generous ‘good Samaritans’ as she refers to them. To help her with such a noble task she has dedicated her life to Kuisebmund Shop 4 Valu supermarket opened a shopping

account under the name Papmansion where they provide discounts and special prices for her soup kitchen. Mr. J.M De Barros referring to Barbra wrote in a letter to the community, “She has our utmost respect and support for her continued community service”. From my visits to the Papmansion and conversations I had with Mr. De Barros including some community members who know Ms Kavita, she has earned my utmost respect as well and I am hoping to add support to go with it whenever I can. Ms Barbra Kavita referred to as ‘Walvis’ mommy to many’ in a June article of 2017 by The Namibia newspaper and featured in a second article in July 2021 is truly a source of inspiration to the community and the children she helps take care of as some do come back to offer the same help. I wish her and her house (Papmansion) the best and hope the love in her heart spreads to many who can offer the same love that she tirelessly and effortlessly gives. Yours in Table, Taonga (Mr. T)
Hosting of Dominik and Monta During the month of September RTSA had the privilege of hosting the RTI World Meeting in Cape Town South Africa. With this event attracting so many international guests to our continent, there will always be a few that decide to travel a little further after such event, and this was the case with Dominik and Monta What a lovely couple to host. We made contact just after ARTSA this year to start planning their trip though our wonderful country, Namibia. They were here for a 2-week journey through our country and had a 2-day layover in Swakopmund. Coming in late on Thursday afternoon 14.09.23 from Sossusvlei, I directed them towards the CBD for an afternoon walk around town where there are loads of tourist attractions. At around 18h00 I met them and took them back to our house to get showered and ready for the evening. Jo and I took them to Altstadt Restaurant in Swakopmund for dinner and we were met by Pj, Elmarie, Brian, Jacqui and Gary for dinner and lekker chats. Friday morning, I had arranged for them to go on a catamaran cruise and then off to sandwich harbour on a dune tour with clients of mine. They really enjoyed the experience even though they brought half of the dune back with them. They returned to Swakopmund around 17h30 that evening just to take a quick shower for us to hit the road again, we went for dinner at The Jetty Restaurant before heading over to Walvis Bay to visit our clubhouse after Walvis Bay 36 business meeting. We arrived just in time to see our National Rugby Team loose to New Zealand. A few drinks were drunk and one of our tablers were cleaver and did a coin drop, to his surprise, my honoured guest already received a coin and was a part of the festivities as said tabler had to buy a round. Later that evening we headed back to Swakopmund to get a good night’s rest before they hit the road to Uis to further their journey through Namibia. They stayed over at Brandberg Rest Camp, to their surprise also a past Tablers lodge. They had so much fun there and moved along to Damaraland and Etosha before heading back to Switzerland. It was an honour to host such an amazing couple, the memories made are for a lifetime. African Tour 103 Numbers meeting And just like that, the 2-week African Tour 103 Numbers meeting comes to an end. What a ride!!! These 2 weeks have been filled with so much laughter and Geez. It was honestly one for the books. It was a busy time with every day filled with fun activities and more festivities in the evening. Round Table Aliwal 55 - Bringing Joy to Huis van der Horst In a festive and philanthropic spirit, Round Table Aliwal 55 hosted a memorable Christmas-themed braai for the residents of Huis van der Horst, the local old age home. The event, filled with laughter and joy, took place on 2nd of Decemeber at the charming Huis van der Horst premises. The highlight of the day was the soulful live music performance by the talented Oom Hennie, who captivated the audience with his show, creating an atmosphere of warmth and holiday cheer. The residents and guests alike enjoyed the music, creating lasting memories. The success of this heartwarming event wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Santa Flight is a combined George service clubs initiative that takes place at the George Airport (Flying School adjacent), each year. This year will be on Saturday 2 December. The goal of the day is to deliver the joy of Christmas to roughly 100 children, from disadvantaged, special needs, and orphaned backgrounds. For these children, everything they experience on the day, is most certainly a first, and for many it will be their last. But for those few hours they spend with us on the day, we change their lives by making a lasting impact. Activities on the day include;

Impala 157 ”Manne Aand” raised over R500,000 As they say, aim for the sky and fall on the clouds. It started of with a dream to host the biggest “Manne Aand” on the Polokwane Calendar. Planning of the Impala 157 “Manne Aand” started early in the year, putting the vision on paper to ensure the result is what we envisioned. The Rugby World cup 2023 laid ahead of us and we had to capitalize on the event. At first, we wanted to host our “Manne Aand” before the World Cup, building up to the vibe. We then decided that we were going to take the risk and do it after the World Cup, if all went well the hype would have been great and the Rugby fever would be running high. And it was indeed the case. The “Bokke” once again pulled trough and with a couple of nail-biting 1-point matches, managed to seal the deal for a second consecutive time, and also then becoming the only team to have sealed the deal 4 times in the history of the cup. This played very well into our decision to host the event after the World Cup. We managed to secure the all-time Legend Duane Vermeulen as well as well as yesteryears legend Danie Gerber that brought something to the table for young and old. Nico Nel, legendary comedian ensured that all present rolled of laughter. The host of the evening was “Oom” Tiny Van Rensburg an absolute legend and a master of his craft. Vos Botha (project convener) and Dario Cremona (Chairman) opened the event setting the stage for a very successful fundraising event. Round Table Impala 157 hosted 440 men from Polokwane on the night. 44 Tables was sold, and the tent was packed. We wanted to keep to the “Rugby vibe” and opted to set up a Marque tent on the HTS Tom Naude Rugby field. We set out plots that was sold to sponsors, mainly vehicle dealerships, that had the opportunity to market their brand. This was a perfect opportunity as there was 440 Men from a lot of different companies across the City of Polokwane.

Impala 157 ”Manne Aand” raised over R500,000 Biltong, nuts, and chips welcomed all gests to the table as a starter and some salty snacks to ensure “die manne is dors”. Thereafter, delicious “Plankie Steak” and Wings was served to the guests with some lekker Garlic loafs. The bar was set out and run as just the Boys of Round Table Impala 157 can do it. All of the elements came together perfectly, many late nights of planning, brainstorming came together, and it is safe to say that we aimed for the sky and most certainly hit the sky dead centre. This was the first project of its kind done by Round Table Impala 157 and we most certainly broke records. We had great feedback from all that was part of the event especially the sponsors, all of them is very keen to be part of our “Manne Aand” in 2024 and there is many other companies that is already in contact with us to be part the next event. I would like to thank Duane Vermeulen, Danie Gerber, Nico Nel and Oom Tiny for their efforts to ensure our event is a great success. Noddy Party Noddy Party, an age-old tradition that has captured the hearts of the Somerset West community for over 50 years. Started and run by Round Table Somerset West 31, this is a long-standing tradition where tablers organise and star in a show, containing not only Noddy and his friends Wally and Mr Plod but also a whole host of other characters like Barney and friends, as well as The Avengers and Elsa and Anna from Frozen. At this show, children are treated to a fun tractor ride from where they arrive, to the entrance of the magic forest, where they can take a walk through the forest and see some of the many characters they will get to see in
the show. Upon arriving in the arena the kids are given chips and sweets to enjoy while they wait for the show to start. A high-energy show then ensues with lots of music and dancing and a theme that teaches them a valuable lesson about bullying, while they enjoy some water and ice creams that are handed out during the show. At the end of the night, Santa makes an appearance and hands out gifts that were purchased by the parents of the children, bringing a magical end to a wonderful, fun-filled evening that the whole family can enjoy. This show is Round Table Somerset West 31’s largest fundraising event of the year and enables us to raise a large portion of

our public funds for the coming year. Over the course of the first two weeks of December, we hosted yet another successful Noddy Party, attended by nearly 4000 people. With the aid of several sponsors and volunteers, we were able to put on 6 very successful public shows as well as one very special charity show for the less fortunate children of our community. We would like to say a big thank you to not only our families and friends who participated in the show but also to the other Round Table members from around the Western Cape who took the time to join and support us at this event.

OUR FIRST STEPS TOGETHER In the heart of Tembisa, a bastion of hope and resilience stands tall - Tshepang Care Centre. For the past four years, Round Table, has woven a tapestry of compassion and collaboration with Tshepang, illuminating the lives of over 700 children and 200 adults.
2019: A DAY OF DISCOVERY AND FELLOWSHIP Round Table's odyssey with Tshepang embarked in 2019, marked by a day of shared laughter, treats, and insights into Tshepang's noble quest. From feasts to cake and quality moments with the children, this initial encounter set the stage for an enduring fellowship.
2020: A RESILIENT RESPONSE TO LOCKDOWN TRIALS As the world grappled with the challenges of a global lockdown in 2020, Tshepang faced an unprecedented surge in demand. Growing from 180 to over 500 kids within three months, their need for support soared. Undeterred, Round Table and partners rallied, defying the odds to host the first Tshepang Christmas event during lockdown level 5, feeding over 500 children and providing vital sustenance during these trying times.
2021: ILLUMINATING A PATH TO EDUCATION AND EMPOWERMENT The journey continued in 2021 as Round Table, in collaboration with the Chartered Institute for Business Accountants and Build Our Bridges, a US-based non-profit specializing in online education, embarked on a campaign to bring solar power to Tshepang. The installation not only elevated safety standards but also paved the way for educational empowerment. Witnessing the first graduates taking flight was a testament to the profound impact of Round Table's commitment.
2022: NURTURING MINDS AND FORGING OPPORTUNITIES In 2022, Round Table extended its support by transforming Tshepang into a vibrant learning sanctum. The installation of a laptop and projector enabled the children to delve into subjects like math, accounting, and English, providing them with essential skills for their educational journey. This initiative bore fruit as Tshepang witnessed a remarkable transformation, with more than five graduates annually emerging from adversity.
2023: A MILESTONE CELEBRATION AND JOYOUS REVELRY This year's festivities were not merely a Christmas event; they were a jubilant celebration of Tshepang Care Centre's 10th-year anniversary. Collaborating with the Chartered Institute for Business Accountants, Sage Foundation, Round Table orchestrated an unforgettable event. Over 700 children and 200 adults were treated to a day filled with sumptuous feasts, entertainment, and heartfelt celebrations. The day unfolded with a moving opening prayer, welcoming words by Mama Sibiya, musical performances, touching speeches by Tshepang children, and expressions of gratitude from sponsors. Round Table and our partners, stands with unwavering commitment to the community, ensuring that the event transcended a mere festivity; it was a manifestation of shared joy, hope, and the power of unity. The smiles on the faces of the children and the warmth shared among the community reflected the impact of Round Table's dedication to Tshepang. As the sun set on this memorable day, the echoes of laughter and the spirit of celebration lingered, marking yet another chapter in Round Table's ongoing quest of making a meaningful difference.

Westville 189 - Winterknights 2023 Winterknights was a great success for Westville 189. This year we took a different approach to accommodate everyone’s busy schedules, we had a generous donation from the our local KZN Knitwits for 67 Blankets for our winter knights project.

Gryphons Hockey Club fundraising Westville 189 takes great pride in developing and plowing back into our younger generation of our community. We have taken up this great project to assist in raising funds for the developing of young Gryphon hockey players. The day was extremely well supported we have sold out on the bacon and egg rolls by 9 am. We had a full team assisting in the day and well supported by 41’ers and legs.

Christmas Bingo East London 1 runs a monthly event at a local old age home namely, Stirling Lodge, whereby we purchase biscuits and chocolates and play a couple rounds of bingo with the residents. This event is a highlight amongst the residents and gives them a much-needed break of routine and interaction with “strangers” This project has been running for many years and will run for many years to come. At Christmas time, we host a very special Christmas version of monthly bingo. All the tablers, pipeliners, wives and children come together to create a special edition. We dress up with some Christmas hats, bring in some delicious snacks, cakes, and pastries. We play bingo as normal but then afterwards we sit and chat to some of the players. You can tell this time with them is so needed and is a definite highlight for them as well as being a highlight for the tablers. This project for us has always been a feel good project. MATLOSANE 45 As we gather for the final meeting of the year, the energy is contagious, and there's a sense of accomplishment in the air. This past year has been a blast, and it's heartening to see the positive changes we've brought to our community. Together, we've grown stronger with each meeting, project, and social event. What makes us especially proud is the tangible difference we've made in our community. Whether it was lending a hand in projects or simply spreading joy during our socials, we've seen the ripple effect of our efforts. As the 2023 season comes to a close, we reflect with pride on the impact we've had. The smiles we've shared, the challenges we've overcome, and the unity we've fostered have all contributed to making our community a better place. NORTHRIDGE LADIES CIRCLE 7 - ICE CREAM WITH SOME SWEET HEARTS! While the weather continues to confuse us in Jozi at this time of the year (Rain in October), we know Ice Cream is best enjoyed in cold! It was an overdue visit and unforgettable Ice Cream Day with the precious little angels at Just In Time. Seeing them filled with smiles, laughter, and, of course, scoops of delicious ice cream was just pure joy! WITBANK LADIES CIRCLE 26 – CELEBRATING TWO INCREDIBLE YEARS On the 25th of September 2023, Ladies Circle Witbank 26 marked a fantastic milestone, as we turned 2 years old! To commemorate this special occasion, we hosted a social event, and we couldn't have done it without the generosity of Round Table Middelburg 126, who graciously opened their doors to us. PORT ALFRED LADIES CIRCLE 29 - JARS OF HOPE COLLECTION We are so grateful to Port Alfred High School who decided to support our Jars of Hope project with Round Table 177 Port Alfred for their 4th term “Challenge your Child” as part of their 140th celebrations. We met up at PAHS on the 20th of October where students from Grade 4 to Grade 11 donated ingredients and empty jars and helped pack jars. We packed and collected an astonishing 177 jars. We are still asking for donations of rice, soup mix, stock cubes, lentils, soup powder and empty coffee jars. Our next drop off day is on the 28th of October outside Pick and Pay at the Heritage Mall.

We were donated a bunch of bags filled with wool and thread from the Port Alfred Round Table 177 on the 20th of November, towards our Blankets for Babies project. Our intent is to give this to Knitters in our area to make blankets, mittens, socks etc. for babies in need at our local hospital ’s maternity unit.

PORT ALFRED LADIES CIRCLE 29 – BOERIE ROLL FUNDRAISER We took it upon ourselves to try and raise some funds for one of our own local mothers who was diagnosed with Lymphoma and struggling to get by. We opted to do a Boerewors Roll sale at our local Pick and Pay on the 4th of November, we were well supported and looking forward to doing so again.
