Robert Zamora's Tony Hawk Encounter
RTM: What was your first impression of Tony Hawk?
Robert: “Star struck but he had a Very good sense of humor. I was blown away by his skateboard collection.”
RTM: How did it feel having skating sessions with Hawk?
Robert: “Skating with Tony was like being in one of his video games in real life, I felt like I could do anything and land my trick. He’s one of the best skaters in the world so it was hard to believe I was skating alongside him.”
RTM: Is there anything he said that really stuck out?
Robert: “Asking for him to help with our new skatepark project and hearing him say he’s down to support it was really heartwarming, Roswell is after all, the last Level in his first Tony Hawk Pro Skater video game!”
RTM: Right on. And finally. What can we do as a community to help improve the skate scene in Roswell America?
Robert: “Having the community support is huge cause it gives the youth and young adults In Roswell a way to have fun and utilize they’re learning skills in a creative and unique manner. It helps not only the community but the rollerbladers, BMX riders and scooter riders as well. I think they can help by coming to the skatepark events or if they wanna help donate to future events we can work that out as well, even if they’re just coming and showing support by being there is awesome.”
Thanks again for your time and readers, please be sure to follow Robert @bobgnarly420, the community skate page we support @ufoskatebash on social media as well as his “Bobs Boards” @bobs_boards_ page to pick up some of his art, and PS we picked up a piece ourselves and can’t wait to sport it! See you next issue.
While Robert is known for skating he also has a creative side where he recycles broken skateboards into wearable jewelry art. This side of him is called Bobs Boards.
