At the heart of outdoor recreation and relaxation is the Nancy Lopez Golf Course at Spring River, a place where focus, patience and skill come together in a calm, scenic setting. Nearby, the Spring River Zoo invites visitors of all ages to enjoy a leisurely winter walk while learning about animals from around the world. The zoo’s close‑up exhibits and educational moments make it a favorite destination for families looking to explore, ask questions, and connect with nature. For indoor fun and discovery, the Roswell Recreation & Aquatic Center and the Roswell Public Library offer warm, engaging environments where kids and adults alike can thrive. The Recreation & Aquatic Center provides opportunities to move, play, and stay healthy through swimming, and engaging in sports and fitness programs, while the Roswell Public Library serves as a hub for learning, creativity and community connection.

Dial-A-Ride
Roswell Transit operates its Main Street route seven days a week. Rides cost $0.25, Children Under Age 5 and U.S. Military Veterans ride FREE. Personal attendants ride free when accompanied by another rider.
Roswell Transit’s Dial-a-Ride service, which operates seven days a week, offers transportation to and from bus stops that are not part of the Main Street route.

Begins at the Roswell Transit Terminal (515 N. Main St.) and heads north. After the bus reaches Roswell Mall, it crosses over to Wal-Mart to begin its journey south. Travels to the Roswell Air Center and Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell. Heads north to return to the terminal.

2026 is the Year of the Rocket! In honor of the 100th anniversary of Robert H. Goddard’s rocket achievements, 2026 will have a mixture of fun, STEM-focused activities. Free & Open to the Public Come learn about the Roswell Museum’s current flood recovery efforts during a free public event and “mix and mingle” at Stellar Coffee. Staff will be available to answer questions and you’ll be able to get updates on the museum rebuild, view images and videos about the recovery and learn what you can do to help. GODDARD CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION Saturday, March 14

Free & Open to the Public Join us for a fun-filled celebration of the 100th anniversary of when physicist and inventor Dr. Robert H. Goddard launched the first successful liquid-fueled rocket. This significant milestone paved the way for Robert and Esther Goddard’s move to Roswell and Goddard’s further pioneering efforts in rocket development. The event will include Goddard and rocketthemed displays, launches and family-friendly activities presented by the Roswell Museum and organizations, museums and educational institutions from around the region. Presented in coordination with the 250th Roswell Committee as we celebrate Roswell’s historical achievements.
