ELECTION MANIFESTO
INTRODUCTION Dear Friend, Many of you will be aware of my past experience in United Kingdom, particularly if you have managed to keep track of my past usernames. A lot has changed over the past few years, both within United Kingdom, and with my political experiences across NationStates. There have been multiple Prime Ministers who have been unable to continue, whether those be personal or political reasons and there has been a considerable number of Parliamentary by-elections. In more recent times we’ve seen few too many new faces that decide to stay. I have served in Parliament, and this past term, I have had my first real taste of Government, where I have succeeded in the roles given to me. My service as Foreign Secretary allowed us to create solid relations with The Communist Bloc and saw initial contact be made with President Sopo, in order to strengthen our relations with Europeia. It has seen a process of transformation in the structure of the Foreign Office and our Ambassador system. My service has been one of activity and dedication, and it is upon these principles that I will build our administration. I may not have the greatest deal of experience with the executive here, despite my experience abroad, however I am going to appoint a cabinet of the best people, which will see new and old members alike come together. In our fast changing world, we have one vital question; do we want to continue to be an open society, confident and optimistic about our place in the world, or do we want to become a closed one, increasingly insular and backward thinking? For me, there is only one answer; I want an optimistic, open-minded and outward looking United Kingdom. Yours,

Partnership Daniel has been in United Kingdom for quite some time. In this time, he has come a long way; serving as Chief Justice, Prime Minister and a Lord of Parliament. He has led the way when Alec unfortunately had to resign, and has most recently begun the important Citizen and Constitutional Conventions which, has bought about meaningful change to provide an opportunity for everyone. He compliments the skills that I can bring, to our executive, with his vast amount of knowledge and experience, which will only continue to benefit the region. The Deputy Prime Minister is traditionally more of an inactive role, but will become one of activity if you invest your trust in me. Daniel and I have worked together on quite a few occasions; the development of the foreign office, building an economic plan and reorganising the cabinet. We think alike and have many of the same ideas, I have witnessed, as have you, his outstanding abilities, and have complete faith in selecting him as my Deputy Prime Minister.
GOAL: to begin creating a culture of collaboration between all Government departments.
Promise: To be active in the continuation of the Constitutional Convention, and to act as my partner in Number 10 through responsible advice and assistance.
POWER TO THE PEOPLE: CONSTITUTIONAL CHANGES For freedom to be meaningful, people need the power not just to make decision about their own lives, but about the way their country, their community, their workplace and everything related to them are run. We have made a good start on modernising and decentralising, but we there is still more to do to reform our politics. We have begun to see the meaningful change that we as a region want to see through our Citizens’ Convention and we are beginning to implement this through our Constitutional Convention.
GOAL: to create a fairer legislative system through supporting an open lower house of Parliament.
GOAL: to reform the powers of the Monarchy, in line with wishes of the public. Unfair votes, over-centralisation of decision-making, the power of sponsorship and the influence of the ‘old guard’ mean ordinary citizens are too often excluded and side-lined in politics today. We need to reform our politics to make it more representative and more empowering to our citizens so it commands greater public confidence.
To lead a fulfilled life, people need power over more than just their government. We need to spread democracy in everyday life by encouraging participation and increasing opportunities for people to take democratic control over the services on which they rely. We will encourage citizens to engage in practical social action, seeing government as an enabler and facilitator rather than just a commissioner and provider of services.
Economy: Building a sustainable economy A responsible approach to the implementation of the economy, allowing for responsible finances underpins the success of a fairer economy. High debt and deficits are a risk to economic stability and it is simply not right to borrow too much money and create a ticking-time bomb of debt. Our economic system has a real chance of success, if it is implemented successfully and engages the people. We need a strong economy not just to help fund public services but because growth and enterprise create jobs and opportunities for all.
GOAL: to support a salaried approach to personal incomes, rather than a pay per post system.
GOAL: to support the ‘start-up grant’ for all citizens that is fair and practical.
Supporting everyone in our community: the HUB I believe that everyone deserves a great start in their NationStates career, and I am determined to make sure that our new hub finds and nurtures the best in everyone. I want people to face the future with optimism and confidence. Our support for everyone in our society needs to promote positive images of people and their successed.
Promise: creation of the well-being hub.
GOAL: to reform the support systems that are in place for new and existing citizens. If we want a more equal society, we must get help to all those who might fall behind, right from the start. That means improving our welcoming services, and the support offered by the members of our community.
We must ensuring that here is a comprehensive mentoring programme that enables our new friends to fully understand how our region works and the opportunities it can bring. But we must also provide the opportunity for support to those who are already with us.
