Gardaí in warning after spate of burglaries Local Gardaí have warned Roscommon homeowners to ‘lock up, light up’, and be on the lookout for any suspicious activity following a spate of burglaries throughout the county in recent days. A Garda spokesperson said: “We would remind homeowners in Roscommon to keep the lights on and be sure to lock up, and also to keep Christmas presents or packaging out of view. “We would also encourage them to check on vulnerable or elderly neighbours at this time of the year and to report anything suspicious or out of the ordinary to Roscommon Garda Station on 090-6638300 or 999 in an emergency. “Gardaí would rather receive a preemptive call and will ensure a car is on the scene to investigate any reports of suspicious activity”. Roscommon Gardaí are currently investigating a number of burglaries which took place last weekend (see page 4).
