We have an exciting and diverse range of excursions as part of the Summer School package. As well as providing a g reat day out, they will broaden the students’ cultural, histor ical and geog raphical understanding of the United Kingdom, and they are a g reat opportunity to tr y out the English language skills they will have lear nt. Travel, food and g roup activities are included in the course fees. Additional dr inks, refreshments, souvenirs and personal shopping are extra and should be paid for by the student. We offer the following excursions* at Rossall Summer School:
MANCHESTER
A city alive with character, Manchester is r ich in art and her itage, and as proud of its music scene as it is of its world-famous football teams.
YORK
A place of extraordinar y cultural and histor ical wealth, York is a beautifully preserved medieval city.
LIVERPOOL
The city that gave us The Beatles, Liver pool has moved on from its industr ial roots to become one of Br itain’s most dynamic and vibrant cultural centres.
CHESTER
Encircled by a glor ious 2-mile r ing of Roman and medieval walls, Chester is a rare blend of the ancient and traditional along with a dash of cosmopolitan chic.
LAKE DISTRICT
Students will visit the stunning Lake Distr ict twice dur ing their stay. Tr ip 1 will include a boat tour around Lake Winder mere, a shor t tr ip on a steam train and the opportunity to indulge in some shopping in Bowness. On Tr ip 2, students will enjoy activities at an outward bound centre in the Lake Distr ict.

HARRY POTTER STUDIO TOUR (WEEK 1)
Students will have the opportunity to sur round themselves in the sets, props and costumes used in the making of the Har r y Potter films on this tr ip to the Har r y Potter Studio Tour in Watford. Students will also have the opportunity to take part in other local excursions including: cinema, bowling, theatre shows and much more. The students will leave Rossall in the mor ning, retur ning to school in the evening.
