PIANO ACADEMY Rossall’s International Piano Academy is a specialist programme for talented pianists aged 11–18, combining intensive musical education with the opportunities of a leading independent boarding school. Students receive weekly one-to-one piano tuition alongside keyboard skills, musicianship, theory, sight-reading, quick study, scales and conducting. All supported by masterclasses, performance opportunities and assessments.
Rossall is an All-Steinway School, giving Academy students regular lessons and performances on a fleet of Steinway & Sons pianos, including one of the only Model D Concert Grands in the North West. Tuition is led by Head of Keyboard Victor Lim, RNCM Gold Medal winner and City Music Foundation Artist, alongside Associate Professors Kathryn Stott and Martin Roscoe, two of Britain’s most distinguished concert pianists. Each student’s programme is individually tailored; whether preparing for conservatoire auditions or developing as a committed pianist alongside a broad academic education. Recent students have received scholarship offers from the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Royal Northern College of Music and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland – a track record that speaks for itself.
