Spring-Summer 2020 Campaign Ft. Naomi Campbell - YouTube

This campaign was communicated to the audience through a series of photographs on the Vivienne Westwood website and a YouTube video. The visual aesthetic of both these mediums immediately captivatesthe viewerthrough the experimentation with lighting and the uniqueness of the clothes.
VIDEO TAKEN FROM THE VIVIENNE WESTWOOD YOUTUBE CHANNEL.
This campaign captured my attention by using three fashion icons: Naomi Campbell,Vivienne Westwood and Andreas Kronthaler.
Both the visuals and sound in the video work together perfectly to represent Vivienne's influence from mythology and her idea that 'we were on our way to paradise, and we were all going to change from fish into birds… '
The combination of music and movements in the video communicates fashion as magical and aspirational, the diverse representations in the video also show fashion as an individual form of expression for everybody regardless of race, age and gender.

My interpretationof this photographwasthat it representsfashionas inclusive and diverse, the lack of the model'sidentitycreates the idea that it could be anybody-making fashionrelevant to everyone.

Juxtapositionof an everyday mundane background and a highly posed/styled outfit reflectshow surroundingsinfluencefashion.
Subvertsgender stereotypes by showing a male in typicallyfemale colours/clothes Therefore, communicating fashion as a place where peoplehave the freedomto be who they want to befashionhas no gender.
