Welcome readers to the “News from the Steeple Center”, a publication for 55 plus/seniors in the Rosemount community. The Steeple Center houses the majority of the programs and events for those 55 plus. Programs are offered by the City of Rosemount Parks & Recreation Department.

Asareminder,theSteepleCenterwillclose whenISD196(Rosemount,AppleValley, Eagan)cancelsschoolforwinterweather. WhenISD196callsforadelayedstartorearly releasetotheschoolday,theSteepleCenter willremainopenwithnormalhours. Theone exceptiontothispolicywillbeifschoolsare closedonaluncheonday,theSteepleCenter willremainopenandtheluncheonwillgoonas scheduled.
City Parking Restrictions
FromNovember1toMarch31,parkingis prohibitedoncitystreetsdailybetween2am and6am,andduringsnowfallsof2+inches untilstreetsareplowedcurbtocurb.
RAAC Programs
RAAC’s UFO and PHD Group:
ThePHD/UFO(ProjectsHalfDone/UnfishedObjects)groupisnotacraftsgroup,butpeoplewho enjoycreatingworksofartinvariousFibermediums. Thetypesofworkinvolvequilting,embroidery,woolwork,needlepoint,crossstitch, hardanger,knitting,crocheting,crewel,woolfeltingandanyothertypesoffiberart. Peoplejoin thegroupnotonlytoworkontheirprojectsbutto learnfromothers,showofftheirfinishedwork, andtosocialize.
Thereisnofeetojointhegroupnordoesone havetobeaRAACmember. Anyonecancomeand jointhegroupandbringtheirPHD/UFOswith them. Welovetoseethedifferentfinishedprojectsandlearnnewtechniquesthatothersareusing.
