WEEKLY SAFETY REFOCUS - RGM PIT ACCESS CONTROL The purpose of this weekly refocus is to make sure that all RGM employees are aware of the hazards and their possible consequences when entering the mine pits and the regula�ons set to control these mine pits. It is also the inten�on that anyone who enter the pit needs to ensure the pit supervisor is informed about his arrival /presence in the pit. MINE OPERATION PROCEDURE L&H-PR-06 RGM PIT ACCESS CONTROL applies to all RGM employees, visitors, supervised contractors, contractors, and suppliers who for any reason need to access the mine pit area. Mine Pit Access This is the point where the pit starts, indicated by a billboard with a road map and instruc�ons for the specific pit. If your working area is not in the mine and you need to go to the mine for any reason, you need to inform the communicator or dispatch personally about your inten�on. The communicator will contact General Foreman to request access. Any person, who operates rubber-�red mobile equipment in the pit, must at minimum have one of the following: Suriname Driver’s License or Interna�onal driver’s License Qualifica�on Badge Level-A Unrestricted Service crews who have a Level-A access permit, must, when they have projects in the mine, be instructed by the General Foreman about the hazards and regula�ons of the area. A documented SLAM with the crew before the job is recommended. Any employee in possession of a Level-A access permit who did not enter the mine pit for an extended period must be guided (mine tour) by a college assigned by the department head who is aware of the daily ac�vi�es in the mine. This is because situa�ons in the mine pit change very o�en. General Foreman or a Mine Health & Safety representa�ve must guide any person who has to perform a job in the mine and does not have a Level-A permit.
