IN 2023 WE HOPE TO OFFER FURTHER RESIDENCY OPPORTUNITIES UNDER THE “AIR PROGRAMME” THROUGH AN OPEN CALL. OUR RESIDENCY OPPORTUNITIES, WE AIM TO CONNECT WITH:

NEW VOICES: We are committed to nurturing and developing creative talents and voices from a multiplicity of backgrounds, practices and contexts and are particularly interested in hearing from people who are under represented in our programme including ethnic minorities, Black artists, LGBTQ+ artists/companies, deaf, vision impaired and disabled artists/companies. NEW AUDIENCES: We aim to inspire more people to discover and access the arts. We’re looking to support socially engaged, pioneering work from a multitude of voices that reaches and meaningfully engages with new audiences. NEW IDEAS: We want to support the development of work that explores new methods and approaches, challenging the idea of what art can be. We are interested in work that crosses art forms and embraces innovation. NEW CHALLENGES: We are looking to support and develop artists who are being ambitious, challenging themselves and experimenting. We want to ensure this opportunity has the maximum possible impact, helping artists to develop their practice and move to the next stage of their career.

Roscommon Arts Centre is committed to connecting with new and diverse communities, inspiring more people to discover and access the arts, through socially engaged and pioneering work from a multitude of voices that reaches and meaningfully engages with new audiences. As part of this, the “Artist on My Green” summer residency programme, has opportunities for 3 socially engaged artists/collectives to engage with residents in Roscommon housing developments or estates over a six-week period this summer. Each participating artist will engage via the Residents Association as one evening a week, the artist hosts an open session on the communal/green area in that development/estate which residents are welcome to attend. Over the course of the six weeks, the artist will introduce residents to their practice and facilitate opportunities for them to both engage with and respond to their work/artform. A residency outcome is encouraged in some form, which could be a sharing, reading, performance or exhibition that incorporates the work of both the artist and the residents. Open to professional artists working in all disciplines, register your interest via: artscentre@roscommoncoco.ie before March 31st 2023
