WELCOME We are Rosary Academy, an all-girls, Catholic high school, empowering the next generation of women leaders. Since its founding in 1965, Rosary Academy has been inspired by the charisms of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange. Students are challenged to become academic, social, and spiritual leaders of the CSJ mission. We ensure that women find their voice and are given the skills to compete at all levels regardless of what their life aspirations might be. The character of our alumnae represents the success of the multidimensional foundations imparted to each girl during her four years. Rosary’s transformative educational experience allows a young woman to explore opportunities to embrace her faith, find her voice, be herself, find her passion, and be fearless. Rosary offers an innovative approach to learning that is collaborative, applied, and focuses on areas important and relevant to today. Each young woman learns to be a leader – a force for change in the world. I invite you to come to our campus and meet us. There is a tangible energy and excitement around learning and an authentic sisterhood that permeates our grounds and our halls, where young women learn of their own strengths while valuing and respecting the gifts of others. Rosary is an exceptional place, and I am confident you will understand when you step foot on campus. Come experience Rosary. Yours in Christ,

Shawna L. Pautsch, Ed.D.

ABOUT ROSARY Founded in 1965 under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and administered by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange (CSJ), Rosary Academy opened to provide greater opportunities for young women. In 1976, Rosary moved under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Orange and continues to offer a diversified college preparatory curriculum complemented by an extensive co-curricular program. Rosary empowers the next generation of women leaders by encouraging each student to become a woman of faith and a citizen who is knowledgeable, creative, ethical, and responsible. The Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange, and those who work with them, are called to live a charism of unity, reconciliation and “service to the dear neighbor without distinction.” Since 1965, Rosary Academy has journeyed with the Sisters of St. Joseph in this mission.

ROSARY’S MISSION As a college preparatory diocesan Catholic high school, Rosary Academy empowers the mind, body, and spirit of each young woman in a transformative educational experience. Guided by the Blessed Mother, Rosary Academy embraces and challenges its students with an innovative instructional curriculum to achieve academic success and ignite the call to serve the dear neighbor.

ACADEMICS At Rosary Academy we know the importance of an all-girls education. Rosary understands that how girls learn is just as important as what they learn. Rosary girls learn to think critically, communicate effectively, strengthen their voices, and make empowering choices through real world problem-solving. Our academic program facilitates spirited class discussions, interdisciplinary learning, and oneon-one interaction with faculty.

ALL-GIRL ADVANTAGE Recent research illustrates that an all-girls learning environment is imperative for a young woman to enhance her self-esteem, leadership skills, confidence, and goals and aspirations. The benefits of an all-girls education are recognized in our Rosary alumnae with over 6,200 women finding success in colleges around the country and professions around the world. With over 220 leadership positions, and through programs like Speak to Inspire and G.I.R.L. Mentor, Royals gain the confidence to remove barriers and strive to find a passionate purpose to make a difference in our world. Media often portrays the opposite of the positive impact that is the reality of an all-girls environment. Through a collaborative, supportive, and empowering community, our young women experience a welcoming and nurturing environment that allows them to thrive inside the classroom, everyday life, and where they will create lasting friendships.

WELLNESS Rosary Academy empowers the mind, body, and spirit of every young woman. Through the wellness program, tools and resources are provided to find balance in her ever-busy life. The program’s three main goals are to empower and motivate students to take control of their lives; to give students time to reflect on their passions, aspirations, and challenges; and to provide opportunities for students to gain self-awareness and experiential learning. The sisterhood of Rosary students and alumnae provides a welcoming environment where girls are supported and encouraged to thrive. The Wellness committee is comprised of faculty and staff who plan activities during the school day that allow students to balance their academics with healthy outlets. Past activities include yoga, therapy dogs, walking in Acacia Park, journaling, meditation, and guest speakers like Katie Koessner, Scott Hogate, and Jean Twenge. PAL (Peer Assistance Leadership) is a student group trained to help mediate disagreements between students. Personal counseling is available to all students through our Director of Social and Emotional Learning.

TRADITIONS At Rosary Academy, traditions are integral to the Royal experience. Many traditions have been celebrated for decades and connect current students to our rich history, while promoting school spirit. Traditions revolve around faith, friendship, family, and fun! Rosary’s most cherished tradition is Red & Gold - a completely student-run school-wide endeavor that presents a unique challenge for students as they create, develop, direct, and perform in a musical theatre production based on an assigned theme. The process provides students an opportunity to exhibit creativity and collaboration, employ critical and analytical thinking, and exercise initiative and personal accountability. The experience is project-based hands-on learning at its best. Preparation time is scheduled during the school day for six weeks in the third quarter. As a friendly competition, the Red & Gold experience unifies the school community and profoundly deepens school spirit, loyalty, and pride. Other favorite traditions include: Rosary Day (October) Father-Daughter Dinner Dance (November) Mother-Daughter Reflection & May Crowning (May) Big sister/little sister program Clash of the Classes Flag football Lunchtime dances School pep rallies
