ROSARIAN GIVES BACK!

Rosarian is very involved with helping others, especially those in need. In keeping with its Dominican pillar of service, students donated non-perishable items to its Thanksgiving Food Drive through the month of November, ending on the 21st.

Seeing all of the people’s happy faces when they have all of this food for Thanksgiving really made it worth giving back.

Holiday in Paradise: Sandi the Holiday Sand Tree!

By Sophia Castro On November 30, Sandi, West Palm Beach’s 700 ton sand tree, was lit to kick off the holiday season! Not only is Sandi the only “tree” of its kind, but it also adopts a new theme every holiday season. This year was the eleventh year of this tradition, and the theme was “Treasure Island.”

On December 8, Clematis by Night hosted “Screen on the Green” showing a holiday double feature.

Clematis hosted a pancake breakfast with Santa and Ferris. Tickets costed $17.00 per person plus taxes and a processing fee. One ticket got you a delicious morning meal, a private meeting with Santa, and a daytime ride on Ferris!

Through December 31, there were nightly synchronized light and music shows in the area around Sandi from 6-10 pm. The festivities extended past midnight on New Year’s Eve!

2023 Auction Success!

On November 10, 2023, Rosarian Academy hosted the yearly auction. This year's auction was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Palm Beach and started at 7:30 pm. The theme of the auction was “A Night in Old Havana,” and Mrs. Richman and Mrs. Mallon stated, “This year's auction was very successful.”

Not only did current Rosarian Parents attend, but grandparents, and parents from past years joined as well.

Attendees had the chance to win different prizes, and dinner was served to all who attended.

Some of the auction prizes included the “Girls Lock In” with Coach Beylo,” “a fishing trip with Mr. Obringer and Mr. Atkins,” and the chance to win the grab bag with multiple homework passes. The auction was a successful event and a fun dinner for lots of parents.

Next year, supporters can help Rosarian Academy have one of the best auctions and have the chance to win some more great prizes.

Soccer Success

By Daniel Coan and Eleanor Caron The Rosarian Raiders boys soccer team started their season against Atlantic Christian. Eighth grader Finn Beylo tied the game 1-1 with a corner kick. Then, they traveled to Jupiter Christian and dominated with a 3-0 win.

The team played against The Benjamin School on November 14 and were defeated 0-4. On November 28, they faced Palm Beach Day Academy in a 5-1 loss. Finn Beylo scored the only goal with a corner kick. On December 5, they had a great 4-1 win, punching their ticket to the championship.

Their record for the whole year was 3-3-1. Coach Cavanaugh said, “The season is going well. We played some very tough teams. If we win one more game we make the playoffs.”

The strength is the defense, led by star goalie Sebastian Lopera’s great leadership. This year, the boys’ soccer team had a large group of 24 players. Fifth grader Liam McCarroll was the only student in his grade to make the starting lineup. Unfortunately, their season ended in the championship game against the Benjamin school in a 5-0 loss.

Goalie, Sebastian Lopera won the Heart of the Team award; Finn Beylo won the Grit award; and Nicholas Coniglio won Most Valuable Player. The Rosarian Raiders boys’ soccer team had a great season, and they look like they're going to be a tough team next year as well.

Girls Basketball Defends Championship

By Daniel Coan and Eleanor Caron The Girls Varsity Basketball Team kicked the season off with a great game versus Jupiter Christian leading with a 46-10 victory on November 7th. Their next game was also a home game, this time defeating Berean Christian 35-3 on November 9. Eighth grader Gabby Fulton scored 25 points and was the high scorer.

On November 14, the Rosarian Raiders defeated the Benjamin School 26-14, and followed that victory by winning against St. Mark’s 37-5 on November 16.

The team traveled to Palm Beach Day where they continued their winning streak with a win of 41-6 on November 28th. Their last game before the semi-final was vs King’s Academy, winning 37-7. In the semifinal, they crushed Jupiter Christian 43-10. On December 12, the girls ended their season with a 39-15 victory over the Benjamin School Buccaneers top claim their third championship in a row!

Coach Gilchrist cheered, “Three-peat! The girls win the championship again!”

Beatrice George won the Heart of the Team award; Tessa Brown won the Defensive MVP award; and Gabby Fulton won the Offensive MVP award.
