History & Highlights 223 Bloomingbank Rd Riverside
Welcome to 223 Bloomingbank Rd located in the historic Village of Riverside, one of the first planned communities of Frederick Law Olmsted, who also designed of Central Park in New York. If you have a moment I’d recommend watching the short PBS Segment “Ten Towns That Changed America” as Riverside is one of them!
This was originally the home of George Hughes, the inventor of the electric stove and founder of Hughes Electric, which late became Hotpoint. Designed by the prominent architectural firm Spencer and Powers .
The flooring in the main living, dining and sun room is a red Quarry Tile and original to the home. Extremely durable and representative of the 1910 Prairie Architecture.
One of the great features of this home is the functionality for a large family. With three full bathrooms on the second floor there is room for everyone.
