PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Term 3 2019 was a term to remember, a term to celebrate and a term that established a “new normal in our practices. At the heart of our success was a word we are using much more often – agency. Agency is the capacity of individuals, teams and organisations to take responsibility and control over their own decisions and actions because they have the capabilities and dispositions to do so. In short, agency is “ownership”. Notable highlights for this term are recorded throughout this edition of ML and they include individual achievements, team and year based success, sporting achievements and leadership at all levels of the school. In particular I want to note: ·
The appointment of a new Deputy Principal, Ms Thelma (Caroline) Vuki who was an exceptional candidate in a very highly quality field of candidates. Ms Vuki will lead much of the school’s work in curriculum and professional practice as well as working closely with students and their families in Years 7, 9 and 11 in 2019.

Our school development day where all the staff committed to putting our school’s Reconciliation Action Plan into place, working with students and their families as well as the elders of our community. 1
