Closing out this final issue of Porsche Parade for 2025, I’m struck by how quickly this milestone year has passed. We’ve packed a lot into our 50th anniversary, and looking back through these pages, it’s clear just how active and engaged our Club continues to be — not just because of the cars, but because of the people who keep showing up.

Our Spring Celebration Day at Mt Duneed Estate was one of the biggest gatherings we’ve held in years, with more than 400 members filling the Barrel Hall for lunch (pages 10–15). The photos say more than I can here — plenty of smiles, a very healthy turnout of Porsches, and a relaxed, positive atmosphere. Exactly what an anniversary event should be.

around the pit lane (pages 24–25). Events like these show why the motorsport side of the Club continues to grow: people try it once, enjoy it, and usually come back for more.

What stands out across all of this is the consistency. Committee members, volunteers, admin staff, register captains, marshals — they’re the reason we’re able to run such a full program year after year. The President’s Report in this issue highlights the strength of the Club at the end of our 50th year, and it’s worth a read if you want the full picture.

The Gala at Zinc in Federation Square followed a similar pattern: strong attendance, good energy, and a genuine sense of pride in the Club’s 50year journey (pages 18–21). The awards, the entertainment, and the effort from the organising team all came together really well. Even after two decades of editing this magazine, it’s still impressive to see how much work goes in behind the scenes to make nights like that happen.

President’s Day at Sandown wrapped up the celebrations in fitting fashion. A mix of track action, passenger laps, and a lunch that kept everyone happy — plus the usual blend of nerves, excitement and friendly ribbing

As we close the book on 2025, the Club is in a strong position and the enthusiasm across all activities suggests we’re heading into another solid year. I’ve said it before, but it remains true — the magazine is only as good as the people and stories inside it, and this year has given us no shortage of material.

Thanks for being part of it, and I’ll see you trackside, roadside, or behind the lens in 2026.

Social Reflections

The last quarter of this year was all-consuming. After organising and hosting the final Club Night & AGM while celebrating our 50th anniversary, it was all hands-on deck to deliver our key anniversary events — the Spring Celebration & Family Day at Mount Duneed Estate, and the Annual Gala Dinner and Awards Night — all while keeping our other events running.

The Mount Duneed event commenced on a smaller scale with a dinner at The Sands Torquay, attended by a group of our members that had an overnight stay there, before the big celebration at Mount Duneed Estate. Kayleen Mahony organised the dinner and everyone had a great evening. Thanks Kayleen.

The family day at Mount Duneed was superb, with an array of Porsches on display to feast one’s eyes on, and being envious of other members beautiful machines, that one would love to own. The venue’s Barrel Room dining hall was beautifully set up, to provide seated lunch for 407 members. The lunch served was scrumptious, with an open bar for members to purchase their drinks. A great group photograph was taken. I encourage you to play “Where’s Wally” with your own image.

Our Club Night at Porsche Centre Brighton, which also encompassed the Club’s AGM, was held on Tuesday October 21. We had a good attendance, with plenty of food, drink and stories regaled by our members. Members gave the night good survey feedback, with a lot complimenting the venue. Porsche Centre Brighton has always been very welcoming and now with Flavio Parletta as General Manager, the dealership will continue to have a number of members visiting and taking benefit of their retail or service.

The popularity is now well recorded for the Midweek Runs (latest held on Wednesday 12 November) due to a great effort from Natalie Griss and Leigh Norrie. The weather looked ominous, but enough blue sky appeared and given midweek traffic is less, provided good driving conditions. The roads and vistas through Ballan to Trentham are beautiful, although parts of the road condition in the area are a challenge. Lunch at The Cosmopolitan Hotel is fantastic having dined there myself on several occasions. Thanks to Natalie and Leigh.

The Presidents Day for Social at Sandown worked very well. Our Social members enjoyed gourmet BBQ catering and were also able to take advantage of Passenger Laps in a Club

Track Vehicle. Social members were able to glean how a club track day operates and I am certain some will take advantage of joining their Competition colleagues. The morning was a touch gloomy but then continued to improve and a great day was experienced by all.

Our final Celebration for our 50th Anniversary was the Annual Dinner and Awards Night, held at Zinc. If I may say so myself, the night was excellent. I was approached by numerous members complimenting and lauding the night.

Members showed their enthusiasm by registering and being part of the largest attendance in the last two decades. The decorations were all about the 50th Anniversary. Members were welcomed on the red carpet at entry with a choice of wines, red, white, sparkling and beer. Canapés were excellent with the entrees, mains and desserts continuing the excellence.

Our MC for the night Lehmo was professional, humorous and managed the evening very well. Our entertainer Patrick Roberts was brilliant, on the violin and if you missed the night, do google and feast on some of his clips on You Tube. The band Like This Entertainment totally complimented the celebrations and got one and all up on the dance floor singing and dancing.

As always, I encourage feedback and ideas, please contact me directly on social@pcv.com.au .

It is goodbye to this year, a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your families.

A special Key Ring with a Porsche crest on one side and the 50th Anniversary badge on the reverse was handed to all our attendees. A special memento to be cherished of our celebrations. Special thanks to PCA and Penske Automotive Group for their financial support.

Greetings everyone,

For those I haven’t yet met at the track, I’m your new Motorsport Director, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be taking the wheel of this fantastic program. Before I continue, I want to give a huge shout-out to Bill Toohey, who’s done an outstanding job over the past two years; his dedication has perfectly set the stage for 2026, and we thank him for his tremendous effort.

50th Anniversary Awards Night - What a Celebration!

What an incredible evening we had at our 50th Anniversary Awards Night! A massive thank you to Carly and Lisa for organising such a wonderful event. The attention to detail, the atmosphere, the whole package – absolutely first-rate. These things don’t just happen by magic, and their hard work made it a night to remember.

Congratulations to all our class award winners – seeing the talent and dedication across every category really showcases the depth of skill we have in this club. You have all definitely earnt these awards and I thank you for your support of all the events during the year.

Congratulations to our new Club Champion Danny Loypur. Danny last won this title 35 years ago and he’s back on top! The man was on such a comedic roll during his acceptance speech that I actually unsuccessfully tried to usher him off the stage at one point. He had the crowd in stitches, and honestly, who was I to interrupt a master at work? Congratulations, Danny – your driving is as sharp as your wit. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly Stefan Wojciechowski’s induction into our Hall of Fame. This recognition is richly deserved for a driver who has been consistently competing since 2016. Winning 3 Outright Championships and holding 10 lap records. Stefan’s competitiveness embodies everything we value in our club – speed, consistency, sportsmanship, and a genuine love for what we do. It’s an honour to recognise him with this award, and I’m sure everyone agrees he’s a worthy addition to this prestigious group.

From Pit Lane

Presidents Day at Sandown – Rain & Roar

Despite the damp weather greeting us in the morning, Presidents Day at Sandown was a roaring success. I should mention that quite a few cars were given warnings for being too loud. Apparently, “hearing it before you see it” is not the stealth approach we’re going for at Sandown. After 19 drivers were given noise warnings and then a hastily scheduled drivers briefing it seemed the front straight was transformed into more of a Sunday drive. No further noise warnings were issued and most importantly no one was sent home for bad driving. Thankyou everyone for driving within your limits as we don’t want to put future days at risk.

Rule Changes for 2026Evolution and Inclusion

We’ve made a few important updates to our rules for the coming season that I wanted to highlight:

Firstly, we’ve changed the sequence of the GT classes to allow for future expansion. This might seem like a minor administrative tweak, but it gives us the flexibility to grow and adapt as new models and categories emerge. Think of it as future-proofing our club structure.

Secondly – and this is a big one – we’re now allowing EV and hybrid Porsche vehicles on track! This change ensures we keep pace with Porsche’s innovation and, most importantly, increase the number of competitors to offset the increased costs of running these events. If you have a Porsche Hybrid, you are now welcome to join us. Porsche’s engineering excellence spans all powertrains, and we’re excited to see these incredible machines in action.

Now, I need to give enormous credit where it’s absolutely due: Peter Harrison and Andrew Bonwick. These two gentlemen have put in an immense amount of work establishing the benchmarks for our classes, especially for new models. This is painstaking, detailed work that involves research, analysis, and countless hours of dedication. The integrity of our competition

depends on getting these classifications right, and Peter and Andrew have done exceptional work ensuring fairness across the board.

Thank you, gents – our club simply could not do it without you. Your contribution often goes unnoticed by the wider membership, but it’s fundamental to everything we do on track.

2026 Track CalendarMark Your Diaries!

The moment you’ve all been waiting for – the 2026 track calendar is now officially released! Here are the first few events to get excited about:

Phillip Island - 1st February

We’re kicking off the year at one of Australia’s finest circuits. Start the season in style on the island.

Winton - 22nd February

Just three weeks later, we’re heading to Winton for some classic Victorian circuit action.

Calder - 28th March

This one’s special. We are potentially running under lights at night! How’s that for something different? More details to come, but this promises to be an absolutely unique experience.

The Bend with MSCA - 18-19 April

Our South Australian adventure! This is a twoday event with MSCA, and I cannot stress this enough: book your accommodation NOW Don’t wait for entries to open – The lack of a week day public holiday is not helping us out this year so please plan around this weekend.

I’m genuinely excited about the year ahead. I am looking forward to competing again after being out of action for almost a year and a half. The calendar is shaping up beautifully, we have an incredibly talented and passionate membership, and I’m looking forward to seeing you all at the track.

Drive safe, drive fast, and let’s make 2026 a record season!

Cheers,

PCV at 50: Spring Celebration Day at Mt Duneed Estate

“Spring Celebration Day” was the second leg of the PCV 50th Anniversary celebrations. And what an event it was!

The focus for the day was the Mt Duneed Estate, only 3 kilometres along the Princes Highway beyond Geelong’s south-western suburbs. Yet the day encompassed far more than that. Three 1 ½ hour “pre-arrival drives” followed scenic backroads routes to the venue while a fourth, one hour direct highway group, started at Lorbeks in Port Melbourne. Overall, some 75 cars joined one of these routes. A further 64 members selected the drive-yourself option. In addition, one- or two-night stayovers were available for members at The Sands, Torquay, and 16 rooms accommodating 32 adults and two children enjoyed this opportunity.

Sitting on the northern slopes of Mt Duneed, Mt Duneed Estate looks out across the rolling, green Barabool Hills. The venue offers sealed and lawned circular and linear parking areas capable of holding around 100 cars, plus an extensive backup carpark. Added to this were extensive lawn areas, a children’s playground, a mini golf course and the opportunity to wander through some of the Estate vineyards.

The first arrivals on the day were our hardworking committee members and their support team along with a group of CFA members helping with vehicle marshalling. These were followed from around 10am onwards by a mix of some 55 Porsches offered by their owners to fill the central display area. The cars were all beautifully prepared for the day and encompassed variants

of some 20 different models with some rare and wonderful machines: a GT2 RS and GT3 RS; a 993 Targa; a half dozen Caymans and Boxsters (including R’s, S’s, GTS’s and an R); a Spyder; the Club President’s immaculate black 924 Carrera GT; a 944 Turbo; a 968 CS; a Spyder and a Panamera. Who could ask for more?

The wider Club membership soon started arriving to fill the next line of parking and the overflow carpark. It was pleasing to see two more GT3 RS’s, a 930 and even Macans and Cayennes amongst them. The beautiful morning weather and scenic outlook encouraged people to gather and chat and the coffee line grew long.

Come 12.30pm and we were shepherded into the cavernous, high roofed Barrel Hall Restaurant with a glass of bubbly to smooth our passage.

by: Ken Marriott
Photos by: Achilles Prinos & Ron Widdison

The restaurant, which sits under the grape crushing and barrelling plant of the winery, soon had its long tables filled with some 407 people (to be precise!) including 35 children of 12 and under.

All catering was undertaken by the in-house kitchen team at Mt Duneed with a special menu produced for the day. The food lived up to the importance of the event and was very tasty. It included delicious, moist, flame-grilled chicken; seared and sliced rump; glazed carrots in a hazelnut sauce --with all of this beautifully balanced by tasty salads with beetroot, fennel, rocket, rosemary, each with a range of dressings. Dessert platters featured fig, maple and pecan slices; orange, almond and coconut cake; tonka and vanilla crème brulee tart and chocolate and caramel cheese cake. If that sound excessive, it wasn’t and it has been listed here in detail to make those who didn’t make it regret their absence! Wine service at the Barrel bar never paused and the house wines were widely acclaimed.

As lunch was concluding, the day moved to the formalities. Club President, Russell Sturzaker, gave a fascinating talk outlining the history, successes

and events of Porsche clubs around the world (of which there are now 700, with 145,000 members) and of Porsche Club Victoria, the most successful in Australia. Russell described the Club’s first events in 1975, the expansion into increasingly high-level competition events, its Club nights, concourses, economy runs, the formation of registers, the evolution of the Club magazine, and the role of committees and volunteers.

It is a fascinating story, and Russell is to be congratulated for bringing it all together: you can read it in detail on the Club web site. Russell concluded by saying “Having now passed 2,300 members, our club continues to grow, and we will keep growing due to the dedication and enthusiasm of our committee members, volunteers and you, the members, in proposing new and varied ideas for events, to broaden PCV’s activities and enjoyment, all of this being how the Porsche Club of Victoria has become the largest and most successful Porsche Club in Australia’. Russell gave special thanks to the Club’s Admin team, Carly Pasco, Lisa Gillespie and Kellie Walker for organising the day’s event, and to Kayleen Mahoney for arranging the dinner and overnight stay at the Sands in Torquay.

Following his presentation, Russell introduced the special guest for the day, Daniel Schmollinger, CEO of Porsche Cars Australia, and his wife, Constanze. Daniel congratulated the Club on its longevity, its successes, and its contribution to the successes of the Porsche marque in Australia.

Keeping things in the PCV family Carly’s daughter Delani drew our door prizes winners. For a change, all children’s names were included in the draw and our three lucky ones walked away with a Porsche remote control car each. In addition, Kellie’s daughter Darcie managed the children’s marquee and activities.

The event concluded with a massed group photo at the front of the restaurant. Our esteemed Editor Ron Widdison was operating the drone, while Achilles Prinos ascended a step ladder to get us all in!

A wonderful day and another success for Porsche Club Victoria’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

50th Anniversary Gala - A Golden Night

The city lights of Melbourne shimmered across the Yarra River as guests arrived at Zinc, Federation Square. A red carpet stretched out before them, and at its edge gleamed a Porsche 911 GTS in Bahama Yellow — a golden beacon marking fifty years of the Porsche Club of Victoria. Just inside, another treasure awaited: a 1967 Porsche 911S, painted in the same radiant hue, a bridge between past and present.

The evening began with laughter and clinking glasses as members and special guests, mingled in the cocktail area. Whist enjoying the selection of canapes, Peking Duck Pancakes, Spring Pea & Mozzarella Arancini, Green Apple Rice Paper Rolls and predinner drinks, their conversations weaving together decades of memories. At 7:30, the curtains drew back to reveal a dining room bathed in gold, its elegance promising a night of indulgence and camaraderie.

Clyde White commenced the evening, welcoming the members, special guests, Toni Andreevski from Porsche Cars Australia, Susan Andreevski, David Zoloto of Penske Automotive Group, past presidents of the club and the current president, Russell Sturzaker.

Music filled the air as the deluxe band Like This Entertainment set the rhythm. Nearly

250 attendees — the largest gathering in twenty years — took their seats at 24 tables. Anthony Lehmann, better known as Lehmo, guided the night with wit and humour, while violin virtuoso Patrick Roberts captivated the room with a twelve-minute medley that danced between classical tradition and modern flair. The atmosphere was electric, laughter and applause echoing against the walls.

Dinner was a feast worthy of the milestone: roasted scallops and pan-fried gnocchi to start, slow roasted lamb and chicken breast for the main course, and decadent dessert canapes (passionfruit pavlova, vanilla panacotta and lemon curt tart) shared across tables. Wine flowed freely, conversations deepened, and the dance floor beckoned. Every detail — from the menu to the service — spoke of celebration, of community, of belonging.

Then came the awards. Russell Sturzaker, current President, took the stage with Daniel Reynolds, newly appointed motorsport director, to announce the six major Awards. Russell led the way whilst Daniel displayed the energy of a seasoned auctioneer, announcing winners with humour and precision. Mark Horton Andrews was honoured with the Life Member Award, Stefan Wojciechowski entered the Hall of Fame, Peter Hemphill was named Darvall

Club Member of the Year and Motorsport Club Champion – Danny Loypur. The crowd erupted when Janet Kane was crowned Women’s Champion — the first since 2017 — a sign of the growing strength of women in motorsport. Some speeches stretched beyond their minute, but no one minded; every word carried the weight of passion and pride.

As the night drew to a close, Clyde White, the club’s social director, stepped forward. He thanked Geoffrey Mould, Natalie Griss, Kayleen Mahony, Carly Pasco and Lisa Gillespie and those who had made the evening possible. Then came the final surprise: each guest received a Porsche key ring stamped with the 50th crest, along with a commemorative car badge. Tokens of a golden night, destined to be cherished. Thanks to PCA and Penske Group for their financial support.

The Porsche Club of Victoria’s 50th Anniversary Gala was more than a dinner. It was a story — of heritage, of friendship, of shared love for performance and style. As guests spilled out into the Melbourne night, the Bahama Yellow cars stood as silent witnesses to a community that had thrived for half a century, and was ready for the road ahead. n

50th Anniversary President’s Day & Sandown Motorsport Experience

Sunday 23rd November saw 111 people incl members, their families and guests make theirway to Sandown International Raceway to take part in our 50th Anniversary President’s Day and Sandown Motorsport Experience.

Situated at Sandown Raceway, our President’s Day – Sandown Motorsport Experience included a Gourmet BBQ & Drinks Package, completing a couple of laps of the magnificent Sandown Race Circuit in your own vehicle (speed limited behind a pace car), and participating in “passenger laps” in fellow club member track cars.

The day was planned around having fun with family and friends, while joining fellow club members who are participating in President’s Day, our final Track Event for 2025. The usual format for our Annual President’s Day, is where track competitors are allowed to take friends and family with them around the circuit (at around 80% race pace).

So, to share this experience we put on a BBQ Lunch for non-track members to come along and see what is involved on a club track event. Also included in our day was:

• Porsche Vehicle Display provided by Porsche Centre Melbourne, Porsche Centre Brighton and Porsche Centre Doncaster.

• Pit Walks

• Marquee with tables and seating provided to enhance your viewing experience.

• Music provided during the lunch break

• Food and drinks were also available for those who stayed for the 4:30pm get together with all the drivers at the end of the day…

Centrally located in the Melbourne suburbs, Sandown Raceway is an easy venue to get to, and members started arriving around 9.30 -10.30 am, and after parking their vehicles in either the pit parking area, or for those registered for the Parade Laps in the dummy grid area, they then proceeded to the Lunch Marquee and New Vehicle Display Viewing Area situated between the pits garages and the grandstand.

Once at the Lunch Marquee & viewing area attendees were able to move freely around the complex visiting the new vehicle display, race car display and the elevated viewing area above the pit garages to watch the competition groups lapping the Sandown circuit.

The format of Presidents Day sees our regular track competitors taking their family and friends for passenger laps around the circuit, while this year also providing passenger laps to the non-

track members attending our day.

During the day, attendees also had the opportunity to view a New Vehicle Display which had been provided by Porsche Centre Melbourne, Porsche Centre Brighton and Porsche Centre Doncaster. These displays would not have been possible without the support of the three Penske dealerships, and we would particularly like to thank Natalie Juriansz, Marketing Manager, Penske Automotive Australia along with staff from each of the individual dealerships.

At 11.45 am those who had registered for the event early, and therefore were one of the lucky 40 who were to complete in the Parade Laps of the Sandown Circuit made their way to the dummy grid area, and at 12.00pm a mandatory driver’s briefing was conducted by Andrew Bonwick, who detailed the guidelines for the running of the upcoming Parade Laps. Drivers were organised into two groups of 20 vehicles and moved to their vehicles in preparation for their drive out onto the racetrack.

The parade laps commenced at 12.15pm with the first group of 20 cars, and on their return to the pits, the pace car peeled off and picked up the 2nd group, leading them onto the circuit for their run.

Sunday 23 November 2025 | Story by Russell Sturzaker | Photos by Achilles Prinos & Ron Widdison

Our event was sponsored by Equity-One™ who are a Public non-listed Financial Institution specialising in both investment and finance, and were proudly represented on the day by Brynna Marley, and Nathan Gilbert - Assistant Portfolio Manager.

Brynna had the opportunity to participate in a passenger lap during the day and returned to the pits with a grin from ear to ear having experienced some of our shared Porsche Passion.

One of the highlights for me on the day was to see the grins and smiles on the faces of the members who participated in the Parade Laps as they alighted from the vehicles on returning to the pits. This was only the third time in the history of the club that we have combined this type of activity with the competition group, and judging by the feedback received both on the day, and through our survey monkey questionnaire following the event, it won’t be our last.

While the Parade Lap participants were completing their laps of the Sandown Circuit, the Gourmet BBQ commenced which consisted of lamb skewers, wagyu sliders, tiger prawns in garlic butter and lemon mayo, lamb cutlets, pork hot dogs and wild whole mushrooms in truffle butter and thyme, along with a warm pumpkin and greens salad, a real feast, along with soft drinks, orange juice and mineral water, (as no alcohol was allowed until after 4:30pm at the end of the days competition). Our special thanks to Adam Pope and his team from Fabulous Catering who did an outstanding job on the day.

Following lunch members moved down to pit lane, where they were able to sign on for passenger laps being provided by track competition members. These ran for the rest of the day with some 200 passenger rides around Sandown, in most cases for their first time on track at speed. Pit row was a

buzz with members experiencing these passenger laps, and this included a couple of younger ones who must be 12 years old to participate.

In our family’s case, having reached 12 years old, this meant that our granddaughter Marly qualified this year, so as a bit of a surprise we purchased a Porsche Motorsport race suit for her, and didn’t she look the part. While being a bit nervous prior to her first run of the day, she soon developed the “Need for Speed” and our thanks go to those members who provided Marly with a run, and did she enjoy herself?… you better believe it. When summing up her day Marly said ’Crumpa this has been the best day of my life”. So, I guess I have a few years before I’m going to be hit up for a drive of my car?

It was not long before 4:30pm came, which saw the completion of the day’s racing, those who had stayed were then able to attend the end of day gathering for the Competition Group along with partaking in a selection of food and soft drinks.

A great day was had by all who attended, following what we thought was going to be a wet day, the weather looked after us with quite a lovely afternoon, the food magnificent, and of course we all enjoyed the friendship and camaraderie that we share as members of the Porsche Club of Victoria. n

SANDOWN Track Day

Final Sprint at Sandown:

A Season’s End with Spirit

Sunday 19th October 2025 marked the final sprint event of the Porsche Club of Victoria’s 2025 season, held at the iconic Sandown Raceway. Gates opened bright and early at 7:00am, welcoming 64 eager competitors plus 10 Entrée drivers despite some ominous looking clouds that threatened rain. Spirits remained high as drivers prepared for one last blast around the track before the season wrapped up.

The day officially kicked off with the driver briefing at 9:15am, setting the tone for a safe and spirited event. Group 3 led the charge with the first session, and as I sat in my little Boxster waiting for the marshal’s signal—final harness tension applied—I found myself drifting back to one of my early Entrée sessions at Sandown during the COVID era.

Greg Muller was in the passenger seat of my original car, a Porsche 911 C4S. I remember the engine growling contentedly as we surged down the back straight, hitting 180 km/h at the 200-metre braking mark. Greg’s voice was calm and reassuring: “Brake gently, hold some speed, and let the car flow.” We glided through the sweeping turn 6 and straight into the S’s, as we settled into the track rhythm, he glanced over with a knowing smile and said, “You want to go fast, don’t you?” I grinned broadly and nodded— because in that moment, I absolutely did. If you’ve ever thought about joining a PCV track day, let me say this: do it. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills, the Entrée program is a brilliant way to learn, grow and connect with fellow enthusiasts. You’ll be supported by experienced mentors, surrounded by passionate members, and guided through

every step with safety and encouragement. It’s not about being the fastest—it’s about discovering what you and your car can do and having a blast while doing it.

Although I managed a few solid laps, I couldn’t quite match my personal best— but that’s the beauty of sprints. It’s the challenge, the unpredictability, and the pursuit of improvement that keeps calling us back to the track, time and time again.

I remember chatting with the late Peter Fitzgerald one Sunday at this very circuit. I asked if he might share a few tips to help me go faster. He looked up from his easy chair with a wry smile and said, “How long have you got?” finally offering one simple piece of advice: “Brake less.” “You’ll definitely go faster and post a better time.”

Notable achievements across the day, classes include Scott Pittard (A1) Danny Loypur (B) Mark Chrzanowski (C) Richard Thompson Andrew Smith (Cup 991) Stefan Wojciechowski (C92) Garry Voges (D) James Moyle (GT1) Peter Caretti (GT2) Peter Cowan (GT3) Michael Jerlitschka (GT4) Michael Coghlan (M0) Greg Muller (M1) Malcolm Batten (M2) Sally Anne Hains (Open) Bayley Hall, a professional driver, joined Group 1 and delivered a blistering lap time of 1:10:28 in the EMA GT3 Cup MR, showcasing what’s possible with talent and precision. I heard a whisper that Bayley was asking for some “greens” (new rubber) - I reckon he thought he could go even quicker. Thankfully, the day saw only one minor off-track excursion, with no injuries or significant damage - a testament to the club’s safety protocols and the vigilance of our stewards, volunteers,

flag marshals and safety crew, who deserve special recognition for their tireless efforts.

Sponsored by Classic Motor Consultants, the event was a fitting finale to a season filled with camaraderie, competition and growth. The next major date on the calendar is President’s Day on November 23rd - a celebration of the club and its members.

Here’s to a fantastic 2025 sprint season - and to an even better 2026.n

A NIGHT AT PORSCHE CENTRE BRIGHTON:

The 2025 AGM & Club Night

By four o’clock, the team was already hard at work. Cocktail tables were being set up, the bar was taking shape, and the familiar buzz of preparation filled the showroom. Geoffrey Mould coordinated the furniture deliveries, while Fabulous Catering prepped their signature grazing boards. Mark Barry from BS Sound ran cables and checked microphones, ensuring the speeches later would ring out loud and clear.

Behind the scenes, Carly Pasco and Lisa Gillespie organized the admin desk, while Delani Pasco and Izzy Gillespie were ready to greet members and tick off names — proof that club spirit runs in the family.

Drinks, Grazing, and Good Company

By 6:15 PM, members began filtering in. The bar opened, glasses clinked, and chatter filled the space as old friends caught up, and new members found their footing. The grazing tables looked almost too good to touch — almost — and soon everyone was mingling, plates in hand, surrounded by shining cars and the hum of conversation.

The Formalities Begin

At 7:20, President Russell Sturzaker took the microphone and welcomed everyone to the

With everyone settled, it was time for business. Russell officially opened the 50th Annual General Meeting — a milestone that carried a sense of pride for everyone in the room.

He noted apologies from a few familiar faces, including committee representatives Clyde White, Alison Belot and Vincent Caruso, then quickly moved through the confirmation of the previous year’s minutes.

Russell’s President’s Report looked back on another big year for the Club — from successful motorsport and social events to strong member engagement. He handed over

to Treasurer Flavio Lacota, who presented the Annual Report and Financial Statements. After a few quick questions and plenty of nods around the room, the report was adopted, marking another financially sound year for the Club.

Changing of the Guard

Next came the elections. Russell explained that, as per the Club’s rules, all committee members retire each year and may offer themselves for re-election.

Three long-standing committee members

— Garry Saber, Bill Toohey, and Mark Horton Andrews — stepped down this year, each receiving heartfelt thanks along with a restaurant voucher in appreciation.

In their place, the Club welcomed Natalie Jordan, Daniel Reynolds, and Jon Tiktin to the General Committee. The room broke into warm applause as Russell congratulated them and officially announced the 2025–2026 Committee, including reelected Office Bearers Neville Sampson (Secretary), Flavio Lacota (Treasurer), and himself as President. He welcomed Paul Sbrissa to his new Vice President role.

Acknowledgements and Heartfelt Thanks

With formalities done, Russell took a moment to recognize the people who keep the Club running. Alvaro Del Gallo was honoured for an incredible 15 years of service to the Social Committee — a testament to his dedication and enthusiasm.

Special presentations were also made to Past Presidents Tony Carolan and Peter Harrison, who were apologies at our August Anniversary Club Night where all Past Presidents were acknowledged. Their ongoing support continues to strengthen the Club community.

Russell then thanked Porsche Centre Brighton — and in particular Flavio Parletta and Natalie Juriansz — for their hospitality, as well as the many Club volunteers who helped bring the night together. He made sure not to forget Carly and Lisa, and their daughters, whose behind-the-scenes work kept everything running smoothly.

Encore Video Showing

The night’s program continued with an encore screening of 50 Years in Motion, the 12-minute

film created by long-time Porsche Parade editor Ron Widdison to celebrate PCV’s 50th anniversary. Drawing on decades of photos and footage, and enhanced with cutting-edge AI animation, the film brings the Club’s history vividly to life—its concours, racing, and social moments enriched by voice-overs from past presidents and long-standing members. Whether they were watching for the first time or reliving it on a second viewing, members thoroughly enjoyed seeing it again. Heartfelt thanks again to Ron for putting it together.

Winding Down

As the clock ticked past 8:30 PM, Russell closed the event with a smile to another successful year. The formalities wrapped up, but the conversations didn’t end there — people lingered over final drinks, swapping stories, planning drives, and already looking forward to what 2026 might bring.

The night at Porsche Centre Brighton was more than just an AGM. It was a celebration — of cars, community, and the people who make the Porsche Club of Victoria what it is: passionate, welcoming, and always up for a good night out. n

PHILLIP ISLAND Track Day

Competing at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is a privilege we all look forward to with eager anticipation. The facilities are excellent, and the track is always in pristine condition. 85 drivers entered for the timed events and 15 entree members experienced the track.

For sure, the members who are driving on the track for the first time are thinking of many things; likely, Turn 1 is high on their list, as it is the fastest corner on the competition calendar.

Another item on all the drivers ‘ and marshals’ minds was the weather, with a forecast that included possible hail!! Better pack the rain tyres and a change of underwear…. some talk of the rain meister was overheard in the paddock.

Indeed, the track was declared wet; it had rained and blown in the morning, with our terrific marshals facing into the rain as drivers commenced their search to stay within the limits of traction. Unfortunately, this search led to a couple of red flag events, resulting in a call for an early lunch, followed by a delay in running as a safety barrier was repaired.

During the lunch break, the event sponsor, House of Tint, presented an excellent display featuring tint and wrap applications. Thanks to Travis and Trish for the superb example.

The resumption of track activity coincided with the sun coming out. The day ended with some solid dry track running, and impressive times filled the timing boards, including PCNSW member Owen Wiseman’s 1:37.38 in his 922 GT3 Cup.

A huge thank you to all the marshals for enduring the morning’s wet and windy conditions; we all had a memorable day.

Now onto the penultimate track event of the year at Sandown, 19th October. n

993 & 964 Register Run to Tokar Estate

Sunday 12 October 2025 | Story by Jessica

It was one of those perfect mid-spring Sundays where the sun was shining, the air crisp and the roads calling. Members of the Porsche 993/964 register gathered for an unforgettable drive to the beautiful Tokar Estate Winery in the Yarra Valley.

The route was everything a Porsche enthusiast could wish for. Twisting and winding roads, smooth tarmac and breathtaking scenery at every turn. The convoy of classics looked and sound magnificent as they carved through the hills, each car a celebration of Porsche’s timeless engineering and spirit.

The drive concluded at Tokar Estate, where everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch at the winery’s restaurant. Surrounded by vineyards and good company, it was the perfect way to finish a great day on the road.

A big thank you to Leon and Roger for organising such a fantastic run, full of great roads and a wonderful destination. Days like this remind us why we love our cars, the drive and the people who share the passion. n

Thanks to MJH Group for sponsoring our Tourboss Run guide subscription.

Modern 911 Run to Tokar Estate

There are some days that simply remind you why we love these cars, these roads, and this community — and our MOD911 drive turned out to be exactly one of those days. From the moment we gathered at Little Lofty’s Café in Wonga Park, an unmistakable energy filled the air, led by Kon and his enthusiasm and inclusiveness. The sunlight filtered gently over a lineup of polished guards and proud headlights as one Porsche after another rolled into the car park, around 20 in total - I was too excited to count. While all modern, each car and driver contributed to the sense that this was going to be a memorable outing.

Little Lofty’s proved the perfect place to start. The café’s relaxed, leafy backdrop matched the cheerful pre-drive mood as members chatted over coffee and toasties. Some discussed recent detailing, others compared notes on tyres and suspension, and a few new faces were warmly welcomed into the group. Once Kon completed our briefing, we settled into our cars, fired up those unmistakable flat-six and turbocharged engines, and began the journey.

A Perfect Morning for Driving

The first stretch toward Kinglake offered exactly what we hope for from a club drive: dry roads, gentle sunshine, and a beautiful mix of sweepers and straights. As we wound our way through Warrandyte and toward the foothills, the scenery opened into lush greenery and rolling valleys. The convoy flowed smoothly, maintaining a tidy formation that showed both discipline and enthusiasm — a combination Porsche Club Victoria has always been proud of.

Approaching the Kinglake area, the roads tightened into the kind of twisting sections that remind us why Porsche engineering is so addictive. Each bend carried a rhythm, and the cars felt balanced and composed. Those who love the technical side of driving were smiling all the way into the hills. By the time we reached The Flying Tarts Bakery, the mood was buzzing.

The Flying Tarts is one of those spots that always adds charm to a drive. Its

colourful character and warm country feel make it an inviting break point, and the smell of pastries and coffee drifting through the door made it even better.

Parked neatly in rows outside, our cars drew plenty of attention from passing locals — a Porsche convoy always does — and sparked friendly conversations. Inside, members enjoyed everything from pies to pastries to strong coffee, and the relaxed mid-morning catch-up gave everyone a chance to laugh, chat, and share early impressions of the drive.

Rain Clouds and Road Challenges — the Fun Kind

Not long after we departed Kinglake for the second part of the journey, the weather shifted slightly. Light showers moved across the region, misting the road and adding a new dimension to the drive. The rain was gentle — never heavy enough to spoil visibility or pace — but just enough to bring that extra layer of attentiveness. There’s something undeniably engaging about driving a Porsche on slightly damp, winding roads. The balance becomes a little more delicate, the feedback through the wheel a little more alive, and everyone stayed locked-in, smooth, and focused.

As the road descended toward the Yarra Valley, a few potholes made their presence known along the edges of the route. Rather than detract from the experience, they added a playful challenge — little obstacles to anticipate, judge, and avoid. It kept us sharp and added a touch of rally-like fun to the morning. The misty light rain combined with the dramatic forest scenery made the drive feel almost cinematic. As we reached lower elevations, the showers eased, revealing sweeping vineyard views and a valley glowing softly under passing clouds. It was one of those moments when nature becomes part of the driving experience.

Arriving at Tokar Estate provided a striking contrast to the damp forest roads we had just travelled. The vineyard setting — rows of vines

stretching toward mountain ridgelines — felt lush and peaceful. Parking our Porsches along the driveway made for an impressive sight; the lineup looked almost like a curated exhibition against the backdrop of the estate. Inside the restaurant, the Tokar team welcomed us warmly, and the lunch that followed was outstanding. The food was excellent, the conversation flowed easily, and the group atmosphere was upbeat and relaxed. For those not driving further, a glass of Tokar’s wine was the perfect match for the setting. Stories of the morning’s best corners, pothole dodges, and rain-sparkled sections of road filled the room.

New members blended seamlessly into the group, and long-time members reconnected effortlessly — a hallmark of MOD911 outings. The lunch had the unhurried, contented feel that comes after a well-run drive with good people.

Reflecting on the day, the drive offered everything we hope for from a MOD911 event:

A lively, welcoming group of members led by an engaging and energetic Kon.

Scenic stops at Little Lofty’s, Flying Tarts, and Tokar Estate.

Well-coordinated, enthusiastic driving throughout.

It was a day defined by enjoyment, camaraderie, and the shared passion we all have for these remarkable cars. The light weather changes and a bit of road character only added to the experience, reminding us how rewarding it is to truly drive these machines.

Here’s to many more drives just like the MOD911 — spirited, scenic, and shared with the best company. n

Mid Week Run to The Cosmopolitan Hotel

Wednesday 12 November 2025 | Story by Megan

After a hailstorm in Melbourne and snowfall in our intended final destination of Trentham only one day earlier (yes, it was mid-November!), it was a great relief to see clear blue skies as we approached one of the favoured PCV starting places, BP Rockbank, and joined our equally relieved fellow “mid-weekers”.

With today’s final destination being a deviation from the usual November mid-week run venue due to less than ideal road conditions, our revised mystery morning tea stop was revealed.....Shezza’s Diner in Ballan (we were assured we would not miss it!). After the introduction of a couple of new members and first-time runners, and a few photos of our impressive convoy, we set off.

As is often the case during the week, we were treated to a largely traffic free drive along some beautiful winding roads, meandering through Long Forest, passing through the “blink and you miss it” town of Balliang and navigating the Brisbane Ranges National Park before arriving in Ballan. Shezza’s Diner certainly stood out and

didn’t disappoint, with its bright pink and aqua walls, black and white checkered floors and 60’s themed decor (including an Elvis statue front and centre on the countertop, which I was very happy to see as a fan of The King!). After a brief refuelling of coffee and nostalgia, we farewelled Shezza and set off for Trentham.

As we continued our journey, it was a pleasure to drive along some fabulous country roads without constantly needing to dodge potholes! After a lovely drive through the wombat forest we cruised through Daylesford, taking the opportunity to have a quick look at the compound that has been created during the most recent season of “The Block”. We then headed towards the Upper Coliban Reservoir where the reduced speed limits resulting from current roadworks provided a great opportunity to take in an area we had not been through before at a more leisurely pace. Once through the works, the roads were again in great condition and largely traffic free which made for an amazing day of driving.

Upon arriving in the charming town of Trentham, we were warmly welcomed by the staff at “The Cosmopolitan Hotel” where we were shown to our private room and enjoyed a hearty lunch of pub classics (both the parma and fish-n chips were spot on) and lively conversation with our fellow members. Not wanting the journey to end, your scribe also decided to stick around in Trentham for a couple of nights and make the most of all the area has to offer!

Thanks again to Natalie and Leigh for organising yet another great mid-week run, particularly after having to deviate from the originally intended destination (for which I am certain our tyres and rims are forever grateful) and we look forward to the next one! n

Women’s Run: Pink Ribbon Brunch –Macedon Ranges Drive

Sunday 26 October 2025

mostly smooth (with just a few puddles from overnight rain and one unfortunate native casualty), the scenery was breathtaking, and the camaraderie among drivers made the morning especially memorable.

while since my last Porsche Club Victoria drive, so the Women’s Run: Pink Ribbon Brunch felt like the perfect occasion to get back behind the wheel.

The day began at McDonald’s Gisborne, where 31 women — and a stunning lineup of Porsches — gathered bright and early, all dressed wearing a touch of pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

After the driver briefing, we set off on a spectacular drive through the Macedon Ranges, weaving our way through Riddells Creek, Kerrie, Hesket, Mt Macedon, Newham, Cobaw, and Lancefield. The roads were

We arrived at Hanging Rock Café just as the weather began to turn — thankfully, the heavens waited until we’d parked before the rain came down! Over a relaxed brunch, we shared stories, enjoyed some wonderful door prizes (including jewellery from Kayleen Mahony and hats donated by Georgie Orbach) and celebrated a great cause. Not to mention the lovely bottles of pink Rosé generously gifted to each attendee by Georgie Orbach Wines.

Special thanks go to Karen Bentley for organising such a well-run event and to Tourboss for guiding us seamlessly along the route — driving without a human

navigator this time really showed how intuitive and safe the touring app is!

To everyone who contributed prizes and donations — a heartfelt thank you on behalf of all who attended. It was a meaningful day filled with laughter, friendship, and purpose, raising funds over $3000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and reminding us how special our PCV community truly is.

I couldn’t think of a better way to return to the driver’s seat in my very precious Boxster baby! n

Boxster/ Cayman Register Run #1 to Djinta Djinta Winery

A small group of Boxster/ Cayman register members (20), gathered early on a wet drizzly morning at McDonald’s Tecoma, ready for a scenic drive through the Dandenong ranges and South Gippsland. After a short briefing, the convoy set off, weaving through the wet winding roads of Cockatoo and Emerald.

The countryside was lush and green after recent heavy rain the previous week, offering a beautiful backdrop for the drive. From Emerald, the group headed south via Nar Nar Goon to Caldermeade Farm & café, where we stopped for morning tea. We had been advised when we rang to book tables for the group, that there was a race meeting on that day, so we, (Graeme), presumed it was a horse racing event, however to our amusement they were racing Basset hounds!

This proved to be highly entertaining to all while we enjoyed coffee and morning tea. Amused, refreshed and ready to continue, we headed off,

winding our way through Nyora and then along the scenic roads bordering Kongwak National Park. The changing landscapes open farmland giving way to rolling hills and forest on some great roads, were a delight to drive through.

The route continued through the quaint rural communities of Jumbunna and Kardella, both offering classic South Gippsland charm, before the group approached their lunch destination: the beautiful Djinta Djinta Winery in Kardella near Korumburra.

Set among vines and surrounded by picturesque views, Djinta Djinta provided the perfect backdrop for the lunch venue. Members were treated to a delicious two course meal featuring local produce and fine house wines. The winery’s warm atmosphere, attentive service, and serene surroundings made it easy for everyone to relax and enjoy good food and conversation.

After lunch, our organiser Graeme took the opportunity to thank everyone for attending and to acknowledge the smooth coordination that made the run such a success. To top off the day, Graeme drew the names of 4 participants for the door prize, bottles of fine Djinta Djinta wine. As the group prepared to head home, the consensus was clear: it had been another thoroughly enjoyable PCV run filled with scenic driving, great food, and wonderful camaraderie. The combination of well-planned routes, and the stunning South Gippsland countryside made it a memorable day for all who took part. n

Boxster/Cayman Register Run #2 to Djinta Djinta Winery

Sunday 16 November 2025 | Story by

Our fourth Boxster/Cayman Register run of 2025 took us on a beautifully scenic adventure to Djinta Djinta Winery in Kardella, South Gippsland. With these runs now so popular that they fill in a heartbeat, PCV offered two dates this year—giving twice as many members the chance to enjoy one of our favourite routes.

We gathered at McDonald’s Tecoma where Carlo welcomed everyone, including a few new members joining us for their very first outing. After a cheerful briefing—and Carlo’s cheeky “Start your engines!”—our line of Porsches rumbled to life and we set off.

Despite the hazy, overcast skies, the countryside looked incredibly green. The winding roads through Emerald and Cockatoo were taken at a relaxed pace thanks to a little traffic, but the charm of the hills still shone through. Before long we were cruising south through Nar Nar Goon and pulling into Caldermeade Farm & Cafe for our morning tea stop.

Caldermeade was a delight, great food, warm conversations, and the kind of friendly buzz you only get on a PCV run. As we left, our long, colourful procession of cars made its way down the driveway past the paddocks— and more than a few cows who seemed unimpressed with our exhaust notes.

Back on the road, the convoy glided along some truly perfect stretches of tarmac, with rolling green fields and occasional bursts of sunshine breaking through the clouds. The hilly, twisting sections were pure Porsche heaven. A few patches of light rain tried to dampen the mood, and by the time we reached Glen Alvie the drizzle had turned heavier, but the roads stayed safe and mostly empty—ideal conditions for a calm run.

Just half an hour later, we arrived at our stunning lunch destination. Djinta Djinta Winery. The gardens were lush even in the wet weather, creating a beautiful backdrop for an excellent meal. The atmosphere only got better when

the wine raffle began, five lovely bottles up for grabs. The room filled with laughter and playful excitement as each winner was announced. It was a wonderful day out, great roads, great company, and a reminder of how lucky we are to explore some of Victoria’s most scenic pockets behind the wheel of our Porsches. A big thank-you to Carlo and the organisers for another memorable run. Already looking forward to the next one! n

ArtNeun 2025

I volunteer at ArtNeun and this is my observation.

On the evening of Tuesday 14th of October, I meet with 25 other volunteers at ArtNeun’s unofficial HQ in Braeside. The layout and plans for the third event are about to be revealed. The nearly 100 page guide we are about to see has taken days to produce. Typical of ArtNeun and it’s considered approach, the crew bible is very detailed. One page at a time we are taken through 34 zones with small green numbered arrows to indicate vehicle orientation along with corresponding images of every Porsche.

The guy doing the talking is Brendan Keenan, and he’s incredibly focussed on implementation and clear instruction, but equally empowers us to make decisions ‘in the field’ on the day. You can sense he feels the weight of responsibility of getting everything right for his idea of a Car Art Show.

The picture becomes clearer… super rare and numbered cars are being sprinkled with owner vehicles all around the old tobacco factory. Timber plinths are back. We’re going into darkened carparks and inside the building, including a goods lift and some crazy psychedelic trip down a circular corridor. The greatest thing about volunteering is ‘I’m on the inside’… I get to see this stuff before anyone else does while enjoying some pizza and some good car banter.

Ten days after the briefing, we do a full crew site walk through. On location the enormity of this event hits me. There is so much ground to cover. Visual markers are pointed out and we make notes in our individual bibles. Ideas and tips are exchanged as we pay particular attention to our specific zones. We are really going to have to be on our mettle on the 9th of November.

Many of us are back the day before the event to assist with the setup. It’s all hands on deck as the

rain comes down. Saturday mostly sees trailered vehicles arrive. They are harboured inside the main shed where they are unloaded. Everywhere I look, I see crew just doing. No complaints, no fuss and plenty of smiles as we get an opportunity to spy some of the awesome machinery that is surrounded us. Throughout the day as the rain slows vehicles are being positioned. The forecast for Sunday is better. It’s time to leave and we’ll all be back for a 5:45am briefing.

Less than 12 hours to go and I don’t have to imagine anymore… a year of planning will soon be a reality. More than anything, I’m pretty pumped and proud to be part of this amazing Melbourne event. Here’s to the vision of the creator and the photographers who captured it on these surrounding pages. n
