Universal Sutures Products Quality and Material Surgical Sutures are combinations of threads and needles that are used in the operating room or to close open wounds. Surgeons use different types of needles like absorbable or non-absorbable sutures, that are used depending on the type of wound that needs to be stitched up. The needle-thread kits for applying sutures are articles inserted in sterile packaging, which therefore do not require sterilization after use and can be easily disposed of after use.

Universal Absorbable Sutures for Surgery All Absorbable Sutures materials are composed of a combination of needle and thread that does not need to be removed after the wound has healed, as it is absorbed by the body over time. This type of suture thread can therefore also be used for interventions on hard-to-reach regions of the body or organs, where another surgery would otherwise be required to remove the sutures. If slow absorption time is required, Monofilament Suture is an excellent choice. The monofilament suture material has particularly smooth tissue penetration and good knot gliding properties and can be used, among others, for slow wound healing, but also in urology or for abdominal wall closure. For particularly fast absorption, Universal Sutures offer the UNIGLYDE FAST SUTURES. The polyglycolic acid-coated, braided multifilament is fully absorbed 40 to 42 days after sutures are applied, making it ideal for use in fast-healing wounds. Also, we offer many other needle-thread combination kits for sutures, such as highquality Polyglactin 910 Suture. The UNISYNTH Absorbable suture has an antibacterial coating and thus protects the patient’s suture from bacterial colonization, for example, Staphylococcus aureus. Non-absorbable suture material
