This summer, Ronin Gallery will open the doors of 425 Madison Avenue for one last exhibition before moving to our new home at 32 W 40th Street. The 4th annual Contemporary Talents of Japan exhibition, held in conjunction with the Ronin|Globus Artist in Residence Program will feature the works of Yoshihito Kawase, the 2019 Ronin|Globus Artist-in-Residence, as well as the works of Masahiko Minami, 2019 First Runner Up. A number of works by past program participants and finalists will also be on view.
The theme for the 2019 program and exhibition is Ryusui (流水), meaning flowing stream and running water. Ryusui represents the fluid, flowing, formless things in the natural world, changing according to the seasons and the gentle flow of water. Contemporary Talents of Japan will present diverse interpretations of this aesthetic as traditional and contemporary processes come together.
