Roger Evans Club President Emeritus Hi everyone! This season has been frustrating at times, but also had some highlights that really put the club in a very good light. Our game at Stourport is a fine example, our manager definitely pulled out the stops by including a number of very young players, and they certainly put their all into getting a very good result but also gave themselves a platform to go a long way in their playing career’s. I certainly praise our team management for giving these lads the opportunity to go forward and improve their talents. Sorry to see some of our experienced players leave, but as they say, "That's football”. I wish them all well, but Romulus is in my heart and our club is so much more important to me,

It's great to see our Academy progressing as much as it is, young lads involved with the first team, that makes everything feel good without doubt. UTRs

Tea With Tannoy Tom By Tom Pratt Hello, all, and welcome back to the Castle Vale Stadium for another MFL Premier Division match. I’d also like to welcome back Switch Radio who will be doing commentary this afternoon… and, well, welcome back to these esteemed pages for me! Yes, it’s been a while, but in some ways I never truly left. Sometimes, a rest is as good as a change, but now I’m back properly. I’d like to thank the Roms committee for keeping the faith with me and having patience. But now, we move on as we head into the second half of the season. Strictly speaking, there is all to play for in the league and two cup competitions- several match cancellations mean that we have lots of fixtures to gradually get through! Hopefully the weather won’t put paid to anything else, but we will see. Roms face Highgate this afternoon- these games are always an interesting clash, whether at home or away. Hopefully the lads can pick up the three points. It’s been a season of change, with lots of players joining, and some of those leaving. I was sad when I saw the news about Cameron Lee departing the club. Cam has been an excellent captain over the last few seasons and a role model off and on the pitch. I wish Cam and his young family lots of happiness. I was also sorry to see Louie O’Connor leaving the club recently as well- Louie’s presence will be missed, especially on team nights out! I think that whilst the stopstart nature of games being on hasn’t helped, the turnover in the squad has been really surprising this season and it can be difficult to keep the consistency required to achieve success if the line-up is changing constantly. However, I hope these moves are settled and the breakthrough of several young players into the first team from the Academy is a great sight. As a Coventry fan, you get used to seeing your heroes leave… but you quickly find new ones! I hope you all enjoy the game. UTR!

Romulus Sunday By George Evans Romulus Sunday was founded in 2020, originally playing in division 3 of the Sutton district league. After being promoted 3 divisions in 3 years, we will this season be competing in the premier division and are hopeful that we can continue to impress and compete in any league. There is no doubt that the competition we will face this year will be the hardest yet, but with crop of lads that we have, and the environment we have created over the years, we all know that we are more than capable of competing against any Sunday side on our day. Knowing what you can do and actually doing it are two very different things. With arguably the youngest side in the league, consistency is going to be our biggest challenge this year and that’s exactly what will be demanded from everyone involved. We pride ourselves on giving young lads the opportunity to get valuable experience in men’s football and attempt to create a genuine pathway into first team football for them, wherever that may be. But first and foremost, we make sure that we have a set up in place that allows everyone to enjoy their football. That’s what it will always come down to. If you’d like to learn more about our Sunday side or register your interest in becoming a part of it, in whatever capacity, please contact georgeevans@romulusacademy.co.uk. Looking forward to this season, big challenge ahead. UTRs!

George
