Education is the key to success but this goes hand in hand with what we do with our time in life after matric. Prepare: life after matric is where a challenging begin ning starts – and that is across all educations and occupations.
Thousands of children complete matric every year, some follow their passion, work, take a gap year or even multitask and work while studying. Working and studying seem to be a huge challenge to most of us because of time management. In our early twenties we still need to socialize but should one be in a situation with both study and work, it can become a problem. At the end of the day we might have to choose between social life and academic or even the job that generates an income.
Most of the jobs students take can be to improve the CVs, have pocket money or a job that will help financially in the studies. There is always a pressure to dress well especially for first years being in a new environment but sometimes one has to determine what is important and prioritise. Avoid procrastination because it is an issue that affects most academics and at the end we may fail to do things on time. Rather have a time table, make notes, prepare on time, look after your health and avoid studying a day before exams.
