Back to school - January already gone, more or less. So, the feeling of ‘new’ is already gone, but hey, we have plenty of great stuff for yu to warm up on. Masiziba is still writing for us. Now it is 2nd year at varsity. Believe me, something is sitting and waiting ofr some of you out there. Her major thing this year is food security. This time something rather ‘up in the air’: food security when we go to Mars. Plants I can understand, but animals onboard a spaceship? Read on!

Second year is in the wait!

With the free education announcement for some students, University is bound to be more exhilarating and it will be my second year. But what am I really looking forward to this year?

Firstly, the library. Our school library is sophisticated and has all the books one could be in the mood for.

Books enhance someone’s knowledge and once you read with comprehension it becomes easier to understand the world and yourself. Biographies and non-fiction books assist in helping to discover oneself, what you may want to do and why.

The fiction books, be it sci-fi or romance, enhance your creativity as a millennial.

But the reason why I am really going to university is to be a specialist in my field. I am looking forward to learning more about my course of study, and the contribution I might make once I go into research.

Stepping into a lecture room will ignite my passion and give me a head start. Moreover, I have a chance to meeting new great people even though it’s my second year.

Additionally, I cannot wait to do more work in the student societies I have joined. Student societies offer wellbeing to a student. Some people describe them as the friends you want to have.

They are organisations aligned to a student’s interest whether religious, political or general. Therefore it becomes a platform where you express yourself and justify your beliefs or values without receiving marks after participation.

What is more interesting is that should you wish to have your own society, you can start it through certain procedures.

Finally, I cannot wait to be with my friends and reunite with them in the new season. Second year and ticking!

While the Vikings’ owners wanted an outdoor stadium, the state and local governments would only provide funding for an indoor stadium capable of hosting major events like the Super Bowl and the Final Four. A retractable roof, the trend in 2010s football stadiums, would have been too expensive.

Architecture firm HKS, Inc., decided to go for a lightweight translucent roof and glazed entrances with giant pivoting doors, aiming to get as much natural light from the outside as possible.

The roof is made up of a fluorine-based clear plastic, spanning 22,000 m2).

The translucent roof and large wall panels also give fans a view of downtown Minneapolis. The glass operable wall panels will allow the stadium to experience some of the outdoor elements while providing protection from the snow, rain, and the cold winter weather.

Scuderia South Africa announces its’ second Internship Program for 2018 Johannesburg, 24 January 2018- Scuderia South Africa, the official Ferrari dealer proudly announces their 2018 Internship Program. This is the company’s second program since its launch in June 2017.

ASTRONOMY AND Mars is the closest friend to planet Earth in terms of its composition. Although it is only about half as big as the earth, it has been claimed to have an atmosphere that could support life like the earth. Hyundai Motor Company and Cisco has revealed a new technology roadmap that will enable next-generation in-vehicle networking with security.

In addition, the companies shared their timeline for commercial deployment of ‘hyper-connected’ production vehicles, slated for 2019. Technology advancements from the collaboration will enable Hyundai and Cisco to disrupt auto industry at a faster pace.

The focus for Hyundai and Cisco is moving away from restrictive CAN (Controller Area Network) systems, to Ethernet communications, which boast processing speeds of up to 1Gbps.

Hyundai and Cisco have created a new platform that provides highly secure access to all the data in the vehicle. The platform utilizes the first generation of 1Gps architectures and Automotive Ethernet with QoS, which allows for maximized bandwidth, more capabilities.

By enabling IP and Ethernet services, legacy buses and devices will work together with the new Ethernet attached devices and services. Through its work with Cisco, Hyundai Motor will ensure that its connected car infrastructure can adapt to new innovations in vehicle to everything (V2X) communication,

Mathematics is not just Arithmetic, Geometry, Algebra, and Calculus or whatever collection of topics you may have come across.

The range of topics is not restricted in any way. Modern mathematics is less about discovering some eternal truths (as it may have been considered in the past) and more about inventing and creating new ways of looking at, describing, relating, exploring, investigating, and lots of other “verb�ings of abstract entities.

To suggest it is somehow complete and merely rehashing old proofs is akin to suggesting that artworks are merely rehashing old ideas and that everything has already been painted, sculpted, or photographed. No one would suggest artistic concepts are limited even within specific categories let alone whole new methods of expression. In that sense Mathematics is very like Art.
