Parallax is the apparent difference of the position of an object when viewed from different perspectives. This publication points at two different approaches that Marcopoulos has taken in photography. In this case the horizontal No Home is edited from images taken over a period of 8 years leading to a non-linear narrative of displacement. In periods, between 2020 to 2023, Lodewijks was drawing in Istanbul. Through the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and the aftermath of the 2023 earthquake, he searched for walls to draw on and people to give him permission. A central figure in all this is Hasan, a carpenter from Yenikapı who becomes his ally in a city where hospitality and wariness exist side by side. What starts as a quest for suitable locations to draw turns into a tale of chance, conflict, and the unwritten rules of the streets. Design: Roger Willems

In 2019, Emmanuelle Antille decided to make a film about the process of creation; to understand why worlds within this world – parallel, different spaces – are created, by whom, and how they can transform and inspire us. Can we reinvent the spaces we move through? Are there other forms of territory? How do we create a universe of our own? Can we still reveal or imagine new territories in our hyper-connected world which is oversaturated with images and representations of elsewhere? Created alongside the film and an exhibition, the book presents previously unpublished work of the artists who took part in the exhibitions.
