Participó en el SASCE (Coro de las Escuelas de Eidstodford de Sudáfrica) y obtuvo el primer lugar como mezzo soprano. Su carrera en solitario comienza en 2019, año en que lanza su primer EP bajo el nombre homónimo de Phumi.
