It all started with trousers

Back in the ’70s, when everyone was struggling around the hills in heavy tweed breeches and soggy army surplus trousers, we decided there had to be a better way.

So we took advantage of emerging fabric technologies to develop the first truly functional outdoor trousers. They were lightweight, wind resistant, quick drying and amazingly comfortable.

It was a radical concept, with a radical name – Bags. As progressive ideas go, it has proved pretty popular –we’ve sold well over one million pairs. And these days we have a much bigger collection; trousers to keep you warm, dry and protected from the sun’s harmful UV rays, everything from suit trousers to denim jeans.

All Rohan trousers are made from performance fabrics. This allows them to multi-task in ways regular trousers cannot. Hillwalking trousers are fine for work and trekking trousers now fit in at smart restaurants.

This versatility was a hallmark of the original Bags. It means lighter packing, less stuff and a smoother, more comfortable journey.
