Winter isn’t for hibernation, it’s the most spectacular season of all for photographers. With daylight being short, those dawn starts for the best morning light begin at the leisurely hour of 6am. Calm winter days and frosty nights will often reveal low lying mist effects in the dawn hours. I don’t know about worms and birds but, the early photographer certainly catches the magic light!
For a few short hours snowy landscapes are transformed into glittering wonderlands. By 10am the sun has risen, dispersing the mists into bright and glaring winter scenes,
great for striding out across the hills and fields, but of less interest for photography. Pack a flask of hot tea, dress in thermal underclothes, fleeces and down jackets, gloves, hats and walking boots, and above all be comfortable in the low temperatures. If your teeth are chattering it will drive you home. Keep a spare camera battery in an inside pocket to keep warm. Cold batteries lose power very rapidly. Now all you have to do is watch the weather forecast and set that alarm clock!

The Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market is known as one of the very best in Europe. And within the Cathedral’s historic Inner Close pretty wooden stalls surround a real open-air ice rink. This year the market is open every day from 22nd November through to 23rd December.
Hay-on-Wye
Come to Hay between 30th November and 2nd December for fine shopping, sparkling stories, Christmas inspiration, and a glorious fire-lit banquet in Hay Castle. Delivery
Our standard charge is £4.95 to mainland UK addresses; you should have your parcel within three working days. Please call for a price, or check online if you need next-day or worldwide delivery. Alternatively, we now offer a Deliver to Store service. You can pick your order up from any of our stores with no delivery charge. Someone from the shop will give you a call when it’s ready for collection.
Returns or Exchanges
Please package the clothes carefully and include your exchange/re-order form that came with your original delivery. Use recorded delivery or something similar. If it’s more convenient, take them into your local shop.
The Rohan No Nonsense Guarantee
Rohan products are designed and manufactured to be as functional, comfortable and durable as we know how. If for any reason they don’t live up to your expectations, we will be amazed, disappointed and keen to know why. We will then offer you a replacement, a refund or a repair. Damage from wear and tear will be repaired for a reasonable charge.
