Blackrock is owned by Rodo Ltd, a fourth generation family business founded in 1926 in Manchester, UK.
From humble beginnings selling brooms to the textile industry, the Rodo of today has two successful divisions supplying safety products under the Blackrock brand and decorating tools under private and own label. As Rodo approaches 100 years it remains true to its family roots: a belief that good relationships and good business go hand in hand are at the heart of the company.

With over 160,000 sq ft of warehouse space across two locations in Manchester, UK, Rodo carries an average of 350,000 pairs of footwear at any one time. State of the art voice picking technology enables efficient, paper-free picking with rapid order turnaround.

Blackrock works with leading internationally accredited organisations to test and certify products to EN and UKCA safety standards during development, long before they go into first production.
The wellbeing of workers is of the highest importance and Rodo is a member of the Sedex to ensure ethical treatment of people involved throughout its supply chain.
An in-house QA team carry out continuous testing including impact, compression and penetration testing of safety footwear toe caps and midsoles to ensure the latest batch is as good as the first.
