Saint Gobain 2022 Prize, Warsaw Student Housing “Sun Search Station”
In the Vertical, Bioclimatic Project workshop, we carried out a housing project for students, with mixed uses, conservation and environmental intelligence technologies. The project was part of the Saint Gobain Prize 2021. The guiding concept in the project is based on adaptability. As the name of the Project says, "Sun Search Station", being in Warsaw, a place with very little sun, is an established program in which the building seeks in all possible ways to maximize the sun that the user of the building will receive in any time of the year. Large triangles on the roof and facade with different materials try to use bioclimatic technology to the maximum. The triangles facing South have photovoltaic panels, while those facing North, where there is a train station, seek to block the sound, and that of the prevailing winds from the west, seeks that the triangles and the roof are like blades that minimize the blow of the air in the building. In many ways the project seeks to adapt to not only be more sustainable, but more genuine in terms of design.

Exquisite corpse from the Sun Search Warsaw project, seeks out a brutalist local idiom, mixed with the proposed adapted triangular design.
The generation of air flows inside the building, seek that at various points of the year, the design is the one that ventilates, the hot air inside the building, or that protects it when necessary. Planning common areas on the ground floor and L1, and rooms for students from L2 to L7, the hot air from public activities throughout the day rises at night to guarantee a comfortable temperature in the bedroom area. The bedrooms are all oriented in a south, south-east and east direction, guaranteeing the project's exposure to the sun. As can be seen in the drawings and the evolution of the context, the project is shaped according to the sun's exposure and the sun itself intends to bathe the project in this resource that in Warsaw is a design luxury.

The pragmatic search for light in cities above the 50 latitude line is involved in all aspects of the design and directly correlates with the well-being of the users of the program. Taking Datascape's approach into account, less light equates to fewer vitamins, a high suicide rate, and decreased productivity. The Search for Light, closely related to the academic text “Cities in Search of Light” gives us a clear reason; sunlight and its benefits are a universal resource that should be easy for everyone to discover, experience and enjoy. Knowing our mission, we proceed to use data to expose the project to the sun, in the most scientific and statistically beneficial way for users. Like a tree that bends down to seek sunlight, this project manifests its design in the search for this resource.

Oaxaca Coast City Urban Expansion Master Plan
Mexico on the Brink of Unrestrained Growth is a project that contemplates the unrestrained demographic expansion of Puerto Escondido, and seeks to invent an expansion proposal that A. Meets the programmatic needs of urban expansion of the city, B. Generate a proposal that integrates with the landscape and the environment C. Propose a series of typologies of urban movement that prioritize pedestrians and bicycles and D. Generate landmarks of Commerce, Education, Culture and Tourism for Puerto Escondido. The Project lives as a Satellite city of Puerto Escondido, and seeks to promote the expansion that it conserves, and whose design always considers the maintenance of parks and nature reserves, as well as walkways and linear and radial public squares that seek to weave activities.

The Central Pesquera is one of the most interesting moments of the project. The building contemplates addressing one of the most needed immediate needs in Puerto Escondido, which is the growing expansion in the demand for fishery products, and the dependence of the local economy of Puerto Escondido on this economic activity. This requires the creation of a cathedral in honor of this activity that such providence has brought to the city and the region.

“Oculus 47” Proyecto de usos mixtos en la Ciudad de México Analyzing the varied and complex concepts contained within the MVRDV and Koolhaas projects, this new mix of ideas brings with it a new creative perspective for city planning and lifestyle. Urban densification brings with it the need for public green spaces, allowing high-rise housing to include Vertical landscape to integrate a variety of activities within a limited space, thus squeezing the Koolhas Loan Program, purity of form meets fruitful simplicity of work with Void, an idea that not only frees the view, but also serves as a zone connector. Taking into account the activity of circulation, and the active interaction of a user with a space through movement, movement design allows a building and a program to explore different forms, and also become more interesting for users' experience of the space. space. Exploring the variety and structure of construction technique, it helps the project to achieve homogeneity and complexity of form, otherwise impossible to achieve by using technical monotonous structures.

The creative process of this mixed urban housing space begins with a compelling analysis of multiple projects by MVRDV and OMA. The first phase consists of redrawing projects such as Silodam, the Celosia Building in Madrid or the Hannover 2000 Pavilion. On the other hand, some of the OMA projects used were the Seattle Central Library” and the China CCTV. Once these had been redrawn, an attempt was made to mix programs into exquisite corpse form. Once the multiple schedules for these offices were analyzed and understood, the original design was modified to meet project specifications. In this way, the projects that emerged are an interesting mix of public and private programs and spaces that create an urban connector node and generate spaces for social encounters.

Big Rock Metro Intervention, 24 Hour Display Centre (Metro Juancatlán) Ciudad de México Generally speaking, the 24-Hour Exhibition Center is a place you can visit anytime and still find something to do. It is a place that is open all day. It should work by combining different types of spaces and experiences that you can visit at different times. Its main purpose and goal is to create a dynamic space that brings a community together. In terms of its usefulness and functionality, the site must also be designed considering the most urgent needs of the area and its demographics. An exhibition center, as its name indicates, must interact with the user through exhibitions or from which the community must benefit. It should work without the need of too much manpower and also be flexible to the utility to better serve the users. It should consist of programs for the different activities that take place throughout the day, such as a place to eat, a place for culture and a place to socialize.

To carry out the final model, superimposed layers of mdf wood, varnished and painted, were used, it was possible to express the interior environment as well as the material idea translated into the project. The scale of the final model is 1/100, and the model used for the background photos is a 1/250 version made with gray cardboard.

Urban Dysmorphia, Mexico City, urban sprawl, analysis and research ICA, AMLO, Mancera, Ebrard, Sheinbaum; the result of the urbanization of Santa Fe and other satellite areas to Mexico City, is not the result of organic growth. Privatized interests and the growth of the City are mixed among thousands of very interesting factors that make this part of the city an urban disaster. In Urban Dysmorphia, Juan Jose Kochen and Jimena de Gortari direct the team of Andrea Rodríguez and Rodolfo Garcia de Alba to investigate the perception of life in Santa Fe according to your socio-economic status. We investigate how the City does not stop despite having hills that are difficult to manoeuvre. Talleres de Construcción, Concreto y Acero In the Concrete and Steel workshops, construction projects of multiple areas are generated with advanced structural criteria. The workshops contemplate the formation of the business from the investigation of the project to its concretization, finishes and sales section in renderings and advertising. The structural criteria within the projects of the construction classes allow to have a clearer and more forceful vision of what to do with a project, in real conjunction with civil engineers and builders. Knowing what specific elements support the building allows more clarity to make realistic proposals that can be brought to reality.
