MAKE IT OFFICIAL In order to obtain a marriage license in Eagle County, you and your partner must submit an online application no more than 90 days prior to the day you’d like to have it issued. Your marriage license must be issued to you within 35 days of your ceremony date. You can pick up your marriage license at one of the following locations: Eagle, El Jebel or Avon office. Both applications must be present and pay the $30 application fee via cash, check, or credit card. You must be at least 18 years old and be able to provide proper identification, blood tests and citizenship is not required.

Kate + Barrett Kate and Barrett met at Miami University in Ohio during their second semester of senior year. Barrett proposed to Kate over Easter weekend 2021 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He planned to have her family and two best friends hide while he proposed. When he dropped to one knee, the photographer, family and friends popped out to celebrate the newly-engaged couple. Kate and Barrett are planning a summer wedding for August 6th at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch.

Kimberly + Lee Kimberly and Lee had instant chemistry the moment they ran into each other at a local cafe. Three years into dating, Lee knew he wanted to propose to Kimberly. He planned for the two to look at Christmas lights at the Dallas Arboretum where, under a canopy of lit trees, he knelt down and popped the question.

Megan + Hank Megan and Hank met during high school. Hank was a senior going off to college soon and Megan was a junior finishing her high school education. They didn’t know how they were going to make a long-distance relationship work, but luckily they did! Megan states, “After 5 long years and great memories visiting one another at our respective colleges, we were finally reunited in our home city of Chicago.”

THE PROPOSAL

After years of dating, Megan and Hank were moving into their first apartment together.

Their apartment was a high rise in Chicago, with a beautiful rooftop where they could enjoy the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan views from home. After a long day of moving boxes, they decided to get ready and go to dinner but first, they wanted to enjoy a drink on their new rooftop to celebrate their big move. Before she could take a drink, Hank dropped to his knee and asked Megan to marry him. After excitedly saying, yes!”, both of their families came out from hiding, champagne in tow.

THE PERFECT PLACE

Because of their long dating history, Megan and Hanks’ families spent a lot of time together in Colorado. She describes it as being a haven for them and she wanted their friends and family to experience the magic of Colorado at their wedding. Megan states, “Camp Hale was the perfect backdrop with its breathtaking mountain ranges, outlined by a sherbet sunset.” Megan’s overall mood for the wedding was “wildflower sunset”, and Camp Hale captured the essence of that.

Erica + JT Erica and JT met five years ago at the elementary school where Erica taught first grade. He was substitute teaching on his days off from working as a firefighter and she introduced herself on the playground. They spent the next few months casually saying hello to each other when, in December 2019, they connected through a dating app. Erica and JT went out for coffee and ice skating, made things official a month later and he proposed in October 2020.

Erica felt like the main character of a romantic comedy on the day of her wedding. Their July 13th wedding day in Beaver Creek rained off and on for most of the day when Erica made the decision to move their reception tables inside. Their friends and family immediately jumped into action to set up the perfect reception dinner indoors. Erica and JT’s wedding day ended up being perfect with hues of rust, blush and gold complimenting the beautiful Rocky Mountain backdrop.

Jacqueline + Wilson Jacqueline and Wilson’s first meeting was natural and organic after their first interaction online. They met in person for the first time at Barcelona Wine Bar in Denver after Jackie relocated from the DC area and Wilson from the Chicago area.

While their ceremony was moved indoors due to a summer rainstorm, Jackie and Wilson had perfect weather during their private first look and vow exchange. While Jackie was upset about the change in plans to an indoor venue, one tall glass of champagne later, and she was busy celebrating with her closest friends and family. Sweet speeches and plenty of opportunities for celebration marked the perfect day for Jackie and Wilson’s start of their new life together.

Lauren + Pace Lauren and Pace met on a festive evening in college at a Sigma Chi tailgate party. Eight years into life as a couple, a trip to Positano, Italy was grounds for Pace’s proposal and the date that he chose to pop the questions is now sealed into their future together as it is now their wedding anniversary.

After two years of planning, a cancelled wedding date and waiting out the pandemic, Lauren and Pace found themselves atop the Holy Cross wedding deck in Vail with all of their closest friends and family. They planned a pastel colored mountain chic wedding for August 20th.

Madeline + Zachary Madeline and Zachary met as friends and college, but neither was interested in dating at the time. They then went on a study abroad trip where they hiked over 500 miles across Spain with 11 other friends. By the end of the trip, they missed everyone, but particularly missed each other. They started dating the fall semester after that summer abroad.

Anything outdoors has always played a part in Madeline and Zachary’s relationship, and Zachary kept that in mind when planning the proposal. Madeline was working remotely in Colorado for a month and decided to take the last week off to explore the state. She tried to get Zachary to join her, but he kept making excuses as to why he could not get the time off.

On the morning of her birthday, Madeline and her mom set out to find a moose that was recently seen in Rocky Mountain National Park when they decided to stop at the Moraine Park Amphitheater to take in the beautiful sights. Madeline’s mom sent her ahead to the amphitheater, and when she got there, she noticed a man looking over the view. Designed and curated by Enjoué Studio, this ah inspiring styled wedding inspiration at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, was inspired by the purple glow that settles in as the sun sets behind our beautiful Rocky Mountains. The lavender hues in the color palette along with the soft touches of blush, blues and white are reminiscent of the luminous evening sky in the Vail Valley. Each scene of the wedding day was designed to tie in to the rustic elegance of the log timber architecture of the property and to pair with the soft and feminine tones of the decor elements. Guests are invited to the majestic affair by way of a beautiful paperie suite that whispers of the lavender theme and also tied together the romantic style with its elegant calligraphy and timeless design. Once arrived, The ceremony scene takes place on the skier’s bridge where during the summer months, this site is covered in natural green grass and boasts of views of the surrounding peaks. Towering pines and aspen trees frame the couple with soft romantic blooms on pedestals for the front of the altar.

Captured by Hannah Quintana Photography, this styled elopement filled with a romantic color palette of soft purples accented with hints of blush, blues and whites. Elegant floral blooms, by Erin Ashley Designs, are added for texture and include garden roses, irises, spray roses, clematis, and peonies.

The reception space, Anderson Cabin, sets the scene for the romantic intimate dinner. The table, set with layers of subtle textural linens to complement the vintage French limoges tableware and combine with the delicate china patterns, a modern matte gold flatware and clean lined oval back chairs with an acrylic back mix vintage elements with new for a creative touch and cause each place setting to be unique.

For a fun twist, a styled playful dessert station complete with ice cream, cones, libations and wedding cake tempts guests to select their own favorite treats. To complete the lavender theme, the wedding cake is covered in pressed dried pansies, a symbol of “love” and traditionally given to some you hold dear to your heart.

The final scene is the show stopper! The newly united Mr. & Mrs. depart in a gorgeous vintage 1958 Jaguar XK 150. Painted a classic Cotswold blue and restored to its original beauty, a garland of lush blooms was added to the back side of the seats to tie in the overall floral design.
