Being born and raised in Colorado, I found my love for the Rockies in a state that holds so many beautiful places. Vail is one of the top spots here. Growing up I remember the warm summers filled with hiking and shopping the main streets of Vail, and the unbeatable snow during ski season. Vail is near and dear to my heart, as it is one of the best places on earth, which is probably why I decided to tie the knot there in 2021. As I begin to plan my own Rocky Mountain wedding using RMB, I find myself in awe of the talented local vendors in each pocket of the Rocky Mountain region. I hope that within these pages you will find all the inspiration and tips you need to make your day everything you want it to be. S E A S O N A L W E AT H E R At the base of Vail Mountain and brimming with winter and summer activities, Vail shines as an ideal wedding location in the Colorado Rockies. From June to August, the weather is warm and sunny, making it the most popular time of the year to tie the knot. If you are looking for that warm weather vibe and plenty of rays, August might be your best bet with average temps in the low 70s. For clear skies and cool nights, September stands as the clearest month in Vail. On the other hand, if you are wanting a cozy ambiance to your day, look to January when the city is often blanketed with snow. For a more moody day, check out July. While there is a high chance of afternoon rain, storm clouds instantly add a dramatic feel, and they say rain on your wedding day is good luck, right?

W H AT T O P A C K Guiding guests on what to pack for your wedding can take a lot of their decision. Feel free to add your wedding attire, whether it be cocktail casual or black-tie optional, to your wedding website. Here is also a great place to add little tidbits too, such as packing a shawl for the cooler months, sunglasses if you are having an outdoor summer ceremony, and reminding guests to drink plenty of water to avoid altitude sickness.
ACTIVITIES During the winter months, hit the slopes at Vail Mountain Resort or Beaver Creek Resort. The two resorts boast nearly 100 trails for beginners and almost 250 trails for more advanced skiers and snowboarders. Both resorts are part of the EPIC pass, which allows you to enjoy six world-class skiing resorts in Colorado. After a day on the mountain, warm up with apres ski snacks and sips. As the autumn winds wisp through the air, there is no better place to see the changing leaves than in the Colorado Rockies. Take the Gondola One up from Vail Village and make the short Fireweed hike to the Simonton Observation Desk as you take in the fire yellow aspens across the landscape. Instead of taking the gondola down, continue to enjoy the fall colors on the Berrypicker Trail to Lionshead Village. Beginning in late June and lasting 16 weekends until early October, the Vail Farmers Market brings more than 140 vendors each Sunday. Stroll down Meadow Drive as you taste test local Colorado treats and produce, look at artisan crafts and art, and indulge in food from one of the 40 food vendors from seafood paella to Greek gyros and fresh squeezed limeades to adult beverages.

Make it official In the state of Colorado, you can get your marriage license at any county clerk’s office. Your partner and you must both be in attendance with proper identification. You will be asked multiple questions while you are there such as when and where are you getting married or if you’ve had any previous marriages. It will cost $30, and you must be married within 35 days of receiving the license. The state of Colorado does not require you to be a resident, have a blood test or witnesses. You have to return your license within 63 days of signing the license or late fees will apply.

Lane and Weston met through mutual friends in Denver after they both moved there after college. After four years of dating and a move to Los Angeles, California, Weston knew Lane was the one. On Thanksgiving morning, Weston convinced Lane to go take Christmas card pictures with their pup at Palisades Park overlooking the ocean in Santa Monica. As the pair moved to the last location to take the pictures, Weston got down on one knee and proposed to a very surprised Lane! Weston also had Lane’s best friend taking the pictures who caught everything on camera. Lane and Weston planned a classically romantic wedding for August 24th.

Briana + Mike camp hale weddings
Briana and Mike met while out in the Soulard District of St. Louis when the two kept randomly running into each other at different bars. The night ended with the pair deciding to meet up the next day with their dogs. The dog park date was a success, and they have been together ever since. After five years of dating, Briana and Mike were preparing for a trip to Europe when Mike suggested they go for a hike. Since they had procrastinated packing, Briana was a little reluctant but eventually agreed to go. At Golden Gate Canyon State Park, the duo setoff for their hike up to an alpine lake. When they got to the top, Mike tied the ring around one of their pup’s collars and told Briana to call the dog. As the dog ran towards Briana, Mike caught up to him, pulled the ring from his collar, dropped to one knee, and asked Briana to spend the rest of their lives together. Briana and Mike planned a rustic romantic wedding for September 20th.

Lauren + Ryan engagement
Both being new to Colorado, mutual family members put Lauren and Ryan in touch to ensure they knew at least one person. After a first date in Boulder, a mutual meeting ground between where they both lived, the pair started dating and enjoyed their time together skiing, hiking and taking in all Colorado has to offer.

THE PROPOSAL
After three years of dating, Lauren and Ryan set off for a trip to Captiva, Florida where Lauren used to live to celebrate her 31st birthday. They rented a boat to explore Cayo Costa State Park off the mainland of Florida. There on the boat, Ryan got down on one knee and asked Lauren to marry him! Lauren and Ryan celebrated with a beach picnic, champagne and swimming in the clear water.

10th
Shannon and Chris met while attending the University of Colorado in Boulder but didn’t officially start dating until the day they graduated. After two years of long distance, they decided to call Denver home. Three years after being reunited in Colorado, Chris and Briana drove up to Boulder on an ordinary Tuesday to look at a project Chris was working on. Once they finished the tour, the pair walked onto a terrace covered in roses overlooking Folsom Field. There Chris got down on one knee and asked Shannon to marry him! The surprises didn’t stop, and they whisked off to a celebratory dinner at Oak at fourteenth followed by a stay at the St Julien. Shannon and Chris planned a mountain-top wedding for the summer.
