After researching and learning of the stunning lakes and miles of hiking trails in southeastern Idaho, I think it’s safe to say that the gem state is quickly climbing to the number one spot on my Rocky Mountain bucket list.

Every part of Idaho screams adventure for the outdoor lover and has me itching to visit immediately.

A funky styled shoot in Rexburg, dreamy backyard vow renewal and breathtaking Canyon Crest Dining and Event Center wedding showcase the beauty nestled in every corner of southeastern Idaho. Sitting at over 4,000’ in elevation people arriving for a southeastern Idaho wedding weekend from out of state will need to prepare for the steep increase in elevation. Soak in the hot pools at Lava Hot Springs, spend your days outdoors hiking or biking, and bask in the sun on the shores of the many crystal-clear alpine lakes for a dreamy wedding weekend in southeastern Idaho.

Dionicia and Sam were brought together by God and have been together ever since. They dated for six months before Sam sweetly popped the question. They planned an intimate wedding in Rexburg at the Loft 745.

RAINY SAND DUNES ENGAGEMENT INSPIRATION Hannah Smith Design traveled to St. Anthony, Idaho to capture this moody Sand Dunes engagement inspiration. Despite the unkind weather, with rain and even a mini-tornado, Hannah captured this local couple in a raw and beautiful way. The bride and groom’s color-coordinated outfits pair perfectly with the stunning backdrop of the St. Anthony Sand Dunes.

Ismenia + Dalton t w i n fa l l s

Dalton proposed to Ismenia on New Years Eve at Centennial Park in Twin Falls. He told her he really wanted to get some pictures taken of them because they hadn’t done so since 2015. She knew they would get engaged eventually because they had talked about it so much, but Dalton was able to surprise Ismenia! She didn’t expect the proposal because he had been sick for a few days prior, but she knows she should have realized because he proposed at the same spot where they shared their first kiss.

Ismenia and Dalton planned a summer wedding in Twin Falls, Idaho at Canyon Crest Event and Dining Center. Their day consisted of classic details with a few bohemian and modern elements. Ismenia and her mom put together their greenery centerpieces that guests were able to take home as a wedding favor. Ismenia had always imagined having a mariachi at her wedding, so she was thrilled when that dream came true!

They rode out of their wedding in classic Idahoan style - a truck! They originally wanted to use a friend’s 1920’s, baby blue Ford car that matched their color scheme, but they decided for comfort over style after they learned of the sweltering temperatures on their wedding day.

Amanda + Chase victor

Amanda and Chase met while working together at the rock wall/Outdoor Adventures at their college. Their relationship went from coworkers to friends before they started dating and Chase eventually proposed on March 24th, 2019 in Dragonfly Canyon in Moab, Utah. They had gone canyoneering in the same canyon about five years prior, right before they started dating. He proposed a little ways into the canyon, just above the first rappel. Amanda said, “As soon as he proposed, I heard cheering from the canyon rim and looked up to see our friends Mason and PJ. They had originally been with us in the canyon five years ago and flew out for the proposal!”

Amanda and Chase envisioned a mountain rustic vibe for their laid back celebration, complete with yard games, great food and plenty of outdoor time. And how could you not want to bask in the stunning setting of Moose Creek Ranch. They fell in love with Moose Creek for its aspen grove, fields of sage and pond and immediately envisioned their guests hanging out all day enjoying themselves on the lawn, eating late night s’mores by the fire pit and also dancing the night away in the barn. Then Covid hit and while they did have to scale back to a more intimate gathering of 50 or so of their closest friends and family members, the setting lended itself well for a spacious outdoor wedding!

Building off the beauty of the nature around them, Amanda and Chase went with earth tones for their wedding palette. Their florals all came from a local greenhouse and featured a vibrant mixture of natural florals and greenery. Other fun details included a barn sign with cute drawings of their cat and dog!

Sarah + Ryan island park

To celebrate 10 years of marriage, Ryan and Sarah renewed their vows with an intimate backyard ceremony in Island Park, Idaho. They originally met when they were 15 years old, but didn’t connect until 10 years later when Sarah found Ryan on Facebook.

Ryan and Sarah were engaged four months after reconnecting on Facebook. Ryan proposed in Maui, Hawaii at sunset on the beach. They now live in Texas with their two daughters and enjoy living the simple, country life.
