Brit Tucker-Kline @brit_rockymtnbride Every wedding tells a story and one of the privileges of creating this magazine is getting a glimpse into so many of them. As we worked on this issue, I found myself holding onto more real weddings than we normally include. Each one had something memorable; thoughtful design details, incredible settings, or moments that simply felt genuine. Before long, it became clear this issue would feature more real weddings than any we’ve published before. I felt they were simply too special to overlook and I hope seeing these celebrations gives you a sense of how many beautiful ways there truly are to bring your fête to life. This edition also looks beyond the wedding day itself. From proposals, a Tuscan-themed bridal shower, to the wedding celebration and local honeymoon inspiration to follow, we wanted these pages to inspire every chapter of the experience. After all, the wedding journey is made special because of the many meaningful moments along the way, not just the one day. One of my favorite parts of this edition is the unique honeymoon inspiration focused on an intentional beginning to marriage at Garden of the Gods Resort. With a setting that encourages couples to slow down and be present with one another, it’s the kind of place where newlyweds can focus on spending quality time together, whether through quiet moments or activities designed to help them connect and reflect as they begin married life.

Scan to book a custom spirits consultation or a tour. Now booking 2026 & 2027 weddings.

May this edition be a source of inspiration as you imagine your own celebration, from the first “yes” to the moments that follow long after the wedding day. Happy planning,

brit

Planned and designed in collaboration by Nicole Silver Events and LuSha Events, this editorial explores a striking juxtaposition of masculine and feminine elements, with the two grooms serving as the perfect embodiment of that balance. Dressed in impeccably tailored black tuxedos from SuitShop, their look felt strong and structured yet undeniably elegant, setting the tone for a refined mix of bold and delicate details throughout the design. Set within Bestow Events, a design-forward venue in Longmont, the space provided the ideal setting for this concept, with its natural light, flexible layout and modern architecture.

The true showstopper of the evening was the tablescape, where LuSha Events layered texture and movement through unruly, sculptural florals that softened the clean lines of the space. Steel gray and moody blue draping set a striking backdrop for pops of yellow, pink and soft red florals layered atop patterned linens, creating contrast without overwhelming the room. Custom paper goods by Montana Paper Co. added a tactile element, while gold bird figurines perched throughout the design offered a subtle, symbolic nod to partnership and togetherness.

Every element was chosen to enhance the experience of the celebration as a whole, right down to the cocktail hour details. A tower of dirty martinis, complete with crystal coupes and olives, felt like the perfect finishing touch, mirroring the shoot’s mix of classic sophistication and playful indulgence. As guests moved through the space, from intimate moments to lively toasts, the design unfolded seamlessly.

TELLURIDE

KATELYN + BRENDON

rocky mountain bride colorado spring & summer 2026 / rockymountainbride.com

45

Katelyn and Brendon met in Boston, Massachusetts, at the infamous bar in Southie called The Broadway. Wasting no time, Brendon asked Katelyn out that night and a week later the two were sharing drinks only to discover they lived across the street from one another. From that moment on, they were inseparable. Five years after their first date, Brendon planned a surprise proposal in Telluride over the Fourth of July weekend. With a hidden photographer, Brendon convinced Katelyn to hop off the gondola halfway up to San Sophia Station with their golden retriever, Monte, for a “family photo.” Just as the mountains peeked through the rain clouds, Brendon got down on one knee and asked Katelyn to marry him. She, of course, said “Yes!” before running for cover with excitement. 46

HEATHER + MATT

48

rockymountainbride.com / rocky mountain bride colorado spring & summer 2026

In 2016, Heather was looking for a short-term adventure, packing up her life in Texas and heading to Colorado on a whim. With just $700 in her bank account and no job lined up, she found herself working at the local recreation center in South Park. One ordinary day, Matt walked through the doors to sign up for a gym membership, something he hadn’t done in years. Just a year and a half later, the two started dating. After seven years together, Matt decided it was time to make it a forever thing. On Heather’s 40th birthday, he whisked her away for a day of antiquing, shopping and dinner in Salida before returning home to their 74-acre property in the heart of the Rockies. As the sun dipped low and the chickens wandered nearby, Matt got down on one knee. “I thought the birthday fun was over,” Heather said, “but standing there watching the sunset, surrounded by everything we love, he asked me to marry him and it was absolute perfection.”

BRI + JON

52

rockymountainbride.com / rocky mountain bride colorado spring & summer 2026

Bri and Jon met while working together at a steel mill in Indiana, where Bri was an intern and Jon was a full-time chemical engineer. What started as hours spent in each other’s offices soon turned into their first night out together. As Bri recalls, “To celebrate the end of my internship and Jon’s birthday, he conveniently had ‘an extra ticket’ to Lollapalooza, a music festival in Chicago, Illinois. In the middle of the electrifying crowd, with Louis the Child performing, it became clear this wasn’t just a summer fling. When the internship ended, I returned to school, but neither of us was ready to let go.” After five and a half years together, Jon proposed on an early morning hike up Mt. Blue Sky, with a drone capturing the sweeping mountain views as he got down on one knee. Bri said “Yes!” and the celebration continued with a surprise engagement party surrounded by family and friends.

That’s Amore: An Italian-Inspired Bridal Shower for Lauren 56

rockymountainbride.com / rocky mountain bride colorado spring & summer 2026

With her wedding to Brennan on the horizon, Lauren dreamed up an intimate bridal shower that mirrored the style of their own small celebration planned for the vineyards of the South of France. Wine played a starring role as a subtle nod to that destination, setting the tone for a day that felt both romantic and personal. Hosted in her mom’s backyard beneath a pergola with mountain views, the “That’s Amore” theme brought European charm home, creating a rustic market-meets-garden vibe throughout the space. Red-checkered tablecloths were layered with yellow and white gingham napkins, red taper candles tied with ribbon and centerpieces that felt more like a Tuscan kitchen than traditional florals. Deep red roses and carnations mixed with fresh rosemary, basil, vine tomatoes, lemons, garlic bulbs, olives and even bundles of uncooked spaghetti tucked into woven baskets, filling the space with color, texture and the scent of fresh herbs.

rocky mountain bride colorado spring & summer 2026 / rockymountainbride.com

57

For food and drinks, an abundant antipasto spread and dessert cart, prepared by Lauren’s mom and future mother-in-law, overflowed with cured meats, cheeses, marinated vegetables, crusty bread, cannolis, Italian truffles and bright lemon bars. A full lineup of pizzas from Parry’s Pizza, Lauren’s favorite from her high school years, added a sentimental layer to the menu. Guests toasted with Aperol Spritzes alongside a playful Shirley Temple bar, honoring Lauren’s childhood favorite. In a simple white A-line dress with bow-back heels and her mom’s vintage white button-down layered on when the weather cooled, Lauren looked effortlessly timeless. Looking back on the event, Lauren shared, “My favorite moment was when everyone was finally seated, eating and laughing, and I could just look around and take it all in. I felt so much love from the women in my life in that moment, and it’s something I know I’ll carry with me long after the day is over.”

Samantha & Melton 64

rockymountainbride.com / rocky mountain bride colorado spring & summer 2026

Samantha and Melton, after connecting on Hinge, made plans to go on their first date, a night made even more memorable by Samantha arriving with a full arm cast after breaking her wrist. Two years later, Melton planned a proposal by enlisting Samantha’s friends to organize a casual brunch before leading her through Denver Botanic Gardens. As they wandered the gardens, her friends led her to Melton who proceeded to surprise Samantha by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him, a moment that later inspired the setting for their wedding day.

THE COUPLE EDIT FRAGRANCE COCO Mademoiselle by Chanel AISLE SONG “Forever” by Noah Kahan FIRST DANCE SONG “At Last” by Etta James VENDOR LOVE We had a custom banner made that said ‘With All My Heart.’ Melton has said ‘I love you with all my heart’ since very early in the relationship and we both say it a lot now. The banner was made by Emma Hollingsworth (Etsy, SquashMakes). That backdrop was really special. We also had custom wedding invites made by Maanan Studios. The invitations she came up with for us were really beautiful and included Denver Botanic Gardens. Laura Dumpert from Four Seasons Custom Florals provided a service where she came back as things were winding down and broke down the florals into small bouquets for our guests to take home. It got rid of the question of what to do with our flowers, and also served as a favor for guests!

The couple went on to plan an elevated dinner party for 54 of their closest family and friends, celebrating back where it all began. Samantha wore a Watters gown, a modern take on a classic silhouette featuring a structured corset with beautifully draped fabric that felt both timeless and fresh. A darling handcrafted banner reading ‘With All My Heart,’ a personal phrase that holds special meaning to the couple, anchored the ceremony space, while a refined color palette of soft greens, warm neutrals and cheerful pops of yellow and orange flowed throughout the florals and tablescapes. Before heading to Punch Bowl Social, Samantha and Melton incorporated the tradition of jumping the broom, symbolizing sweeping away the past, welcoming a new life together and honoring ancestors. The night wrapped with a silent disco, quickly becoming Melton’s favorite moment of the night.

Alex and Scott first crossed paths in a packed yoga studio, but it wouldn’t be until a week later that the two would finally connect. Not wanting to miss another chance to meet the mysterious 6’7” yoga man, Alex mustered up the courage to walk over and ask, “Hey, you go to yoga, right?” The rest, as they say, is history. Three years later, Scott planned an intimate proposal at home. Under the soft twinkle of their Christmas tree, Alta, their golden retriever, trotted up to Alex wearing a bandana that read, “Will you marry my dad?” As she looked up, Scott was already down on one knee. “It was so perfectly us,” Alex shares. “Cozy, heartfelt and just a little bit chaotic, thanks to Alta.” rockymountainbride.com / rocky mountain bride colorado spring & summer 2026

I saw her work online and instantly knew that she would be able to bring my vision to life. Everyone came together so cohesively!

Alex and Scott planned a European-inspired garden party for just over 100 guests. Wedding planner, Brindle + Oak, brought their vision to life with textural elements seen throughout the day from the lush hydrangea-filled arrangements by Shaa.Project to the soft draping by Little Mad Events. During the ceremony, the iconic red rock formations stood as witnesses to Alex and Scott’s first kiss as husband and wife. As cocktail hour began, guests sipped signature drinks and took turns hitting golf balls into the setting sun before dancing the night away beneath a romantic canopy of lights with live music by Diamond Empire Band.

THE SIMON

Courtney & Brendan

After meeting on a dating app, Courtney and Brendan’s first date at Arch City Tavern in Columbus, Ohio, set the stage for something special. Between their mutual love of The Ohio State Buckeyes, craft beer and a good margarita, the two instantly hit it off. Two years later, they packed up life in Ohio and headed west with their pups, Theo and Moose, ready for new adventures in Colorado. It was there, on a snow-dusted June hike in Breckenridge, that Brendan got down on one knee and asked Courtney to marry him, capturing the moment on camera.

FRAGRANCE Black Opium by YSL AISLE SONG “Your Bones” by Chelsea Cutler SIGNATURE COCKTAILS Spicy margarita, regular margarita and Aperol Spritz FIRST DANCE SONG “Look How Far We’ve Come” by Quinn XCII CAKE FLAVORS Funfetti, red velvet, vanilla bourbon with salted caramel and lemon raspberry SONG THAT MADE EVERYONE DANCE “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan LATE NIGHT SNACK Pizza from Outside Pizza VENDOR LOVE Dizzy & Jayne Co., Sydney is truly one of the greatest humans I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with both personally and professionally. The minute we met, she understood our vision and was willing to do anything and everything to help it come to life. From creating a custom cake table for us, to making our dream pastel dance floor come to life, she really was someone I relied on throughout the entire wedding planning process. Mae Florals, Emily Hawk is one of a kind and was one of the first vendors I booked. I knew the second she sent me the proposal that she was the florist to make our dreams a reality. I really let Mae Florals and the team have creative vision with the space to ignite the overall vibe and energy we were looking for on our special day. She had a beautiful baby girl about a month before and when I saw her at our wedding it was as if nothing else mattered other than making our day special. She is the most selfless, positive human I have ever met and am so thankful that she was part of our story. The venue manager, Caitlyn Elvendahl - I could go on and on about her and the entire Simon team. Caitlyn was extremely structured, her communication with us and our vendors was unmatched, and her ability to be agile, flexible and make the day about us as a couple never went unnoticed. The Simon team without a doubt was one of the main reasons our wedding day was the best days of our lives.

Courtney and Brendan planned a garden party meets country club inspired wedding for 150 guests at The Simon. With the help of Seasons of Bliss, the couple transformed the modern venue into a colorful space with vibrant pastel florals by Mae Florals. Courtney let her style shine through three distinct bridal looks, starting with a figure-hugging gown from Luv Bridal that she described as scandalous, sexy and structured. For cocktail hour, she changed into a playful pink dress by Eliya the Label, and later turned heads on the “Club Manahan” dance floor in a chic mini by Rosie Etienne. To top it all off, a whimsical multitiered cake display built by Dizzy & Jayne Co. with cakes by Love Emily Bakery served as the sweetest ending to the celebration.

Jordyn & Jake

rockymountainbride.com / rocky mountain bride colorado spring & summer 2026

“We met the old-fashioned way…swiping left and right on Bumble,” Jordyn shares. After about a week of messaging, Jake picked Cerebral Brewing in Congress Park for their first date. Even though Jordyn arrived just as the brewery was closing, they instantly hit it off. Midway through the date, a stranger stopped by their table, asked if they were on a date and told them he thought they had something special. They laughed it off at the time, but it would later feel like a quiet hint of what was to come. Just over two years later, Jake proposed during a walk through City Park in Denver. Jordyn said “Yes!” through happy tears, then immediately realized her nails weren’t done. Always prepared, Jake pulled out press-on nails, had a photographer hidden in the bushes and another capturing the moment from across the lake. The surprises kept coming with a celebration dinner at Machete Tequila + Tacos in Congress Park, surrounded by family and friends, followed by a stop at the very same bar where their first date had ended.

Jordyn and Jake planned a colorful wedding at the Denver Art Museum for 290 guests, inspired by the slogan of one of their favorite places, Colfax, which they made their own as “Less Fancy, More Fun, All Love.” One of the most meaningful moments of the day came during the ceremony, when their dog, Denali, walked down the aisle, zigzagging to greet guests before joining Jake at the front. For the reception, the couple encouraged guests to wear colorful cocktail attire and anything that would keep them on the dance floor all night with Diamond Empire Band. The menu was filled with some of Jordyn and Jake’s favorite bites, including grilled cheese, charcuterie boards and mini corn dogs. From the brass band that led guests from the ceremony to the reception to disposable cameras and a karaoke after-party, the night was truly unforgettable.

There’s a picture of Jordyn inhaling a huge plate of mini grilled cheese because we missed them at cocktail hour. When we did our first look, Jordyn got deodorant on Jake’s suit. Lauren Pippin, our photographer, without skipping a beat started rubbing her black dress on the stain and got it out. Kara from Kara Kara Blooms brought the HEAT with the most amazing flowers and backdrop we could’ve ever imagined. Taylor & Adam

For their first date, Taylor and Adam took a walk through Washington Park in Denver, with Taylor’s golden retriever, Cody, leading the way. The two instantly clicked and just two years later, Adam proposed during a hike in Silverton at the top of Island Lake surrounded by wildflowers and blooming columbines. With a shared love for the outdoors and adventure, Taylor River Lodge became the perfect setting for their wedding weekend, complete with fly fishing, whitewater rafting and an intimate exchange of vows with nine guests present, including their dog.

To kick things off, and with the help of wedding planner Wildly Collective, Taylor and Adam invited their guests to join them for a western-themed welcome BBQ complete with horseshoes and farm-to-table fare. The couple arrived on a tandem bike, setting the tone for a weekend filled with personality and charm. Before the ceremony, Taylor and Adam shared private vows by the river. Reflecting on the moment, Taylor shares, “The morning was crisp and still, with the sound of the Taylor River rushing by and coffee warming our hands. Sitting together in rocking chairs, it felt like time slowed down, a quiet, beautiful pause before the celebration unfolded.” To end the night, the couple and their guests gathered for stargazing and roasting s’mores by the fire, before the sprinklers unexpectedly went off, closing out the celebration in a truly unforgettable way.

Dana & Chad

rocky mountain bride colorado spring & summer 2026 / rockymountainbride.com

97

Dana and Chad first met during their senior year of high school before heading off in different directions for college, Dana to Texas Tech and Chad to Oklahoma State. Nearly a decade later, fate stepped in, reuniting the two when Chad slid into Dana’s DMs, and after their first date, it was clear they had found their forever. Two and a half years later, Chad planned an expertly disguised proposal during a trip to Boston, Massachusetts, with Dana’s best friend and her boyfriend. Fully convinced a proposal was off the cards, Dana recalls, “They dragged me from a pub under the guise of pre-dinner photos, and I was openly annoyed. Unbeknownst to me, a photographer was waiting nearby. When we finally stopped by the Public Garden pond at sunset, Chad asked for a photo, told me he loved me, and it clicked that it was happening. He dropped to one knee, and I don’t remember a word he said after that. I just cried.”

The mountains have always felt like home to Dana and Chad, making the decision to say “I do” in Colorado Springs an easy one. With the help of The Planning Co., the couple designed a wedding where the landscape led every creative decision. Guests gathered on the lush lawn surrounded by panoramic mountain views, where a stunning ceremony setup unfolded with an aisle lined in abundant white florals and organic arrangements. “Our goal was to let the setting lead,” Dana says. “Organic textures, soft neutrals and materials that felt grounded and timeless were key, allowing the mountains to remain the focal point.” Dana looked effortlessly elegant in her Watters gown, its soft movement perfectly suited for the outdoor setting, while Chad complemented the look in an ivory jacket paired with classic tuxedo trousers and a statement Brackish bow tie. One of the couple’s favorite details was a guest book unlike any other, a framed vinyl record of their first dance song signed by loved ones before guests transitioned into an evening filled with candlelit tables, continued white florals, Dana’s must-have wishbone chairs and an electric dance floor that carried the party well into the night.

rockymountainbride.com / rocky mountain bride colorado spring & summer 2026

Before both Josh and Vinny relocated to Arizona, they each had expressed to their friends and family that they believed they would meet the loves of their lives in Phoenix. And, sure enough, they did. Reminiscing on their first date, the couple shared, “On our first date the waitress had to keep coming by and asking if we were ready to order because we just immediately hit it off and didn’t want to stop the conversation to look at the menus.” From that moment on, Josh and Vinny were inseparable. Two years later, on a ski trip to Vail, Vinny got down on one knee atop the mountain, and moments later, Josh surprised him right back.

THE COUPLE EDIT ADVICE Have fun, laugh through any mishaps, remember what is truly important and don’t put the pressure of trying to make this the best day of your lives because you should strive for everyday with your partner to be the best day of your lives. NON-NEGOTIABLE Vinny had to have an ice luge and Josh had to have a dirty martini tower AISLE SONGS Josh - “Everything I Do” by Bryan Adams, it was my parents first dance song. Vinny - “River Flows in You” by Yiruma, it was the song he loved playing for his parents on the piano growing up. SIGNATURE COCKTAIL Dirty Martini with blue cheese olives. We had a dirty martini tower and we each chugged a glass before the reception started. FIRST DANCE SONG “Simply The Best” by Noah Reid, from Schitt’s Creek SONG THAT MADE EVERYONE DANCE We opened the dance floor with “Best of Both Worlds” by Hannah Montana and that got the party started VENDOR LOVE Misty Roberts from Blissful Moment Events and Whitney Rae Photography, these two really helped make this all happen and it wouldn’t have been the amazing day it was if it was not for them. They just knew what we were looking for the very second we started planning and they made the whole process so incredible. Our DJ Jarrett Quint had the dance floor going the entire night, neither of us sat down the rest of the night because he just played hit after hit and did such an amazing job of mixing our favorite songs and made it a night we will never forget. Our videographer, Henry Hill at Henry Hill Productions, captured video that we still watch to this day. He was able to capture the emotions that we were feeling throughout the day and it is such a gift that we will cherish forever.

In a full-circle moment, Josh and Vinny returned to Vail to say “I do” at The Barn, the same place that marked the beginning of their engagement. With just 25 guests in attendance, the couple embraced a mountain tranquil aesthetic, inviting loved ones to gather in the meadow beneath towering pines. Simple floral pillars framed the ceremony, adding a soft, organic touch to the natural surroundings as Josh and Vinny exchanged tearfully beautiful vows in a setting that felt both intimate and deeply meaningful. Fueled by dirty martinis, the evening took off when the couple opened the dance floor to “Best of Both Worlds” by Hannah Montana, instantly setting the tone for the rest of the night.

Jade and Matt met while attending the University of Missouri and later found themselves working at the same bar, where late-night shifts turned into easy conversations and a close friendship. One night, Matt took a chance and told Jade how he felt, and the feeling was mutual. Just over six years later, he planned a surprise proposal during a weekend trip to Colorado. As they strolled through the park, Matt took Jade’s hand and led her toward a large tree lined with rose petals. Completely unaware of what was happening, Jade laughed and said, “Oh my gosh, we should move… these rose petals must be for someone else,” to which Matt replied, “Well, they’re for you.” What followed was a blur of happy tears, shock and pure joy.

SONG THAT MADE EVERYONE DANCE “No Broke Boys” by Disco Lines & Tinashe, our DJ played it at least four times LATE NIGHT SNACK Colorado grilled cheese VENDOR LOVE A very special shout-out has to go to Samantha Ruscher, our photographer. Sam is truly one of a kind, and choosing her was one of the BEST decisions we made throughout the entire wedding process. From the very beginning, she brought such a calming, confident, and joyful presence that instantly put us at ease. On a day that can feel emotional and fast-moving, she grounded us and made everything feel effortless. Sam has an incredible eye for capturing not just how the day looked, but how it felt. She caught the small loving gestures, the special moments and just everything in between. Beyond her talent, Sam is just an exceptional human. She made us feel completely ourselves in front of the camera, kept the day moving smoothly without ever feeling rushed and somehow balanced being everywhere at once while still feeling like a calming friend by our side. Our photos are timeless, emotional and so us, and we will treasure them forever. We truly cannot imagine our wedding day without her. Simply put, she is amazing. Truly, every single one of our vendors deserves SO much credit.

Jade and Matt planned a moody yet romantic wedding in the forests of Colorado at Blackstone Rivers Ranch, close enough to Denver for easy travel while still feeling completely immersed in nature. Their color palette leaned rich and organic, blending deep greens, soft neutrals and warm, earthy tones that felt timeless against the surrounding pines. The ceremony unfolded beside the river, with the gentle movement of the water and towering evergreens creating a quiet, intimate backdrop for their vows. Jade wore an elegant Milla Nova gown paired with vintage-inspired pumps and a pearl-detailed veil lovingly referred to by the her family as the “sisterhood of the traveling veil,” passed down from her sister-in-law, Lauren. For the reception, guests gathered beneath the tent where long wooden tables were dressed simply and beautifully with single-stem florals, allowing the natural setting to take center stage. As the evening came to a close, no one wanted the night to end, so the celebration carried on with an after-party that kept the dance floor full long after last call.

After connecting on Bumble, Heather and Kevin met up for a walk at Cheesman Park in Denver. Looking back on the day, Heather shares, “When Kevin left that night, I texted the guy I had plans with later that week to cancel. I already knew this was different. I felt instantly at home with Kevin.” Just a little over three years later, Kevin decided to make it official the night before a University of South Carolina football game. While strolling through the Horseshoe on campus, Kevin asked a nearby couple to take their photo. When Heather turned back toward him, he was already down on one knee. Surrounded by golden fall light in a place that meant so much to her, she said “Yes!”

THE COUPLE EDIT HIS NON-NEGOTIABLE Cigars, no question. I knew I wanted one small moment with the guys during the night. We stepped out to the dock, lit up, and watched the party from a little distance. Quiet in the best way, like a snapshot I knew I’d want to remember. AISLE SONG “Here Comes The Sun” by The Beatles SIGNATURE COCKTAILS The “Main Squeeze,” a f resh margarita, which is Heather’s favorite drink. The “Lavender Haze,” a light and ref reshing mix of cucumber, lavender, vodka, and lemon. A little nod to Taylor Swift, of course. FIRST DANCE SONG We danced to “So High School” by Taylor Swift. We took lessons to learn the basics, then learned a small lift from YouTube and practiced it outside a few times. On the night of the wedding, the lift matched perfectly with the sparklers and the sound of the song. Our guests loved it, and we were both in shock that it worked so well. We came out of it dizzy, laughing, and just kind of in disbelief that the moment could feel that perfect. CAKE FLAVOR Almond with vanilla bean filling SECOND-LOOK I wanted something fun and different but could not find anything I loved. Less than a month before the wedding, our photographer Alli sent me a post from another bride and I instantly knew that was the inspiration. The look was from @isabelarosebecker, and it pulled everything together. Once the dance floor opened, we changed into our second looks together. We made custom western hats, his branded with a ‘G’ and mine with a ‘G’ charm and lace details, and he added a bolo tie. The second looks complemented each other perfectly. It was our subtle nod to a Colorado mountain wedding, but with a modern twist. Kevin in that hat? Unreal. And every time the flash went off, my dress caught the light like it was made for that moment. Those photos became some of our favorites from the entire night. SONG THAT MADE EVERYONE DANCE “Closer” by The Chainsmokers VENDOR LOVE Alli, our photographer, was just incredible. We actually won a TikTok giveaway that brought her to Colorado, which feels like the luckiest thing. Her style fit us perfectly. She was calm, organized, and great at giving direction without making anything feel posed. She captured real moments and real emotion, and the photos feel exactly like our wedding day. She worked quickly, sent previews fast, and made everyone comfortable. We cannot imagine having anyone else capture our wedding. Matt, of Matt Thelen Entertainment, handled DJ, saxophone and sound and his attention to detail was unreal. Music was extremely important to us and we cared a lot about timing for the ceremony, sparklers, our entrance, the lift and the overall flow. Matt nailed every single moment and we never had to worry about a thing. He mixed live, played sax during cocktail hour and brought in a dinner vocalist who created the perfect atmosphere. He was organized, professional and completely reliable. Guests are still talking about the music.

Heather and Kevin planned a romantic garden celebration at Burning Sky Farm for 180 guests, leaning into the venue’s storybook setting and European estate feel. “Each part of the evening had its own atmosphere, building from soft and romantic to lively and high energy,” the couple shared. Heather wore the Salomé gown by SAINT Bridal for the ceremony, featuring a structured lace bodice and airy organza skirt, later changing into a sparkly second look and custom western hat for the dance floor. Thoughtful touches like ceremony drinks, surprise Espresso Martinis and late-night burgers kept the party going well into the night.

Margaret & James

Margaret and James first met during winter break of their junior year of high school when they both traveled to The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch for a holiday vacation that had become a long-standing tradition for their families. One evening, the two connected while gathered around the outdoor fire pit with mutual friends, introduced through Margaret’s cousin. Little did they know, just 10 years later, they would return to the very same place for something far more meaningful. James told Margaret they were stopping by his parents’ new home in Bachelor Gulch, still under construction, for a quick visit before dinner. Instead, he led her onto the back porch where a table dressed with flowers and a beautiful charcuterie spread awaited. There, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, followed by a champagne celebration with both families back at The Ritz-Carlton’s contemporary sushi restaurant, Sakaba.

VENDOR LOVE Choosing our vendors was one of the best decisions we made. Every single person went above and beyond to make our vision a reality. Florals: Jamie was an absolute joy to work with. She truly understood my vision and brought it to life with such elegance. A detail that felt especially personal was the inclusion of a fly-fishing fly in the men’s boutonnieres, a nod to the summer James spent as a fly-fishing guide in Colorado. It was the perfect, unique touch. Design: Jamie worked seamlessly with our designer, Morgan, who was simply fabulous. Together, they executed a vision I wasn’t sure was possible: draping the ceiling above the dance floor. It was a first for the team, and the result was so beautiful and unique. Morgan also helped us take a risk with our tablescapes; we loved two different aesthetics so much that we decided to use one aesthetic for the round tables and the other with the rectangle tables, each featuring different plates and linens. It was nerve- wracking waiting to see it all come together, but the result was stunning. Beauty: Carrie, our makeup artist, was a true Swiss Army knife. Having her with me all day made everything so much easier. When I woke up to a gloomy, rainy morning, she was the calm in my storm. From holding my purse and veil during our first look to bringing me water, touching up my lipstick and even rubbing my feet before I walked down the aisle, she was a lifesaver. I didn’t realize how much I needed that level of care until I had it. Photography: Sarah, our photographer, was incredible. It’s true what they say: you spend your entire wedding day with your photographer. I loved how clear her vision was; she was brilliant at directing us, and the results are absolutely fabulous. My friends still message me constantly to tell me how much they love her work! Planning: Finally, I had the best wedding planner in the entire world. Jennifer was so much more than a planner, she became a true friend. She made the day feel effortless, and I didn’t have to worry about a single thing. She brings such happiness and light to every conversation, and I am so grateful to her and her entire team. I cannot recommend them enough!

When it came time to plan their wedding, Margaret and James knew exactly where it had to be. “Bachelor Gulch has been at the center of so many meaningful moments in our relationship that there was nowhere else we could imagine celebrating our love. It is truly one of our favorite places in the world.” With 250 guests in attendance, they hosted a timeless and traditional celebration that began with vows at Beaver Creek Chapel. As the newlyweds made their exit, they slipped into the Andrews family’s beloved 1990 Jeep Wagoneer, affectionately named Iffy. The classic getaway moment, running through a flutter of petals before climbing into the vintage car, felt straight out of an old film. Guests then gathered beneath an elegant sailcloth tent set against dramatic mountain peaks, where soft blue draping, lush florals, and glowing lanterns framed the evening. A checkered dance floor quickly filled as confetti floated overhead, and with the band playing late into the night, the party never slowed.

ADVICE “My biggest piece of advice is to really lean on your team and trust their expertise. They’ve done this so many times and truly know what works and what doesn't. I also highly suggest involving your in-laws in the process. Including my mother-in-law, Cynthia, in the planning was such a joy— it brought us so much closer and made the whole experience that much more special for our families.”

Set against the dramatic red rock formations of Colorado Springs, this thoughtfully curated couples retreat at Garden of the Gods Resort and Club was designed as a pause from the everyday. A AAA Four-Diamond resort known for its elevated wellness offerings, the property features an intimate collection of guest rooms and suites with front-row views of Pikes Peak and the iconic Garden of the Gods landscape, creating a setting that feels both grounding and quietly indulgent. More than a weekend escape, the getaway centered on slowing down, disconnecting from daily routines and intentionally carving out time for connection and shared experience.

The morning began with sunrise yoga by the reflection pool, where gentle movement was paired with the calming tones of singing bowls to set an easy, grounded rhythm for the day. From there, the couple returned to their room and leaned into slower moments over breakfast, taking their time with journaling, reflection and conversation. Using Wilde House Paper’s Open Journal and the Cultivating Conversations Card Deck, the two swapped small talk for questions that sparked laughter, curiosity and a few unexpectedly meaningful moments. The prompts felt more like a game than an exercise, opening the door to deeper conversation without taking things too seriously.

Later, the focus shifted to rest and indulgence at Strata Spa and Salon, the resort’s expansive on-site wellness destination overlooking Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods landscape. Housed within a beautifully designed, European-inspired space, the experience extended well beyond the treatment room, with access to steam rooms, experiential showers and Himalayan salt amenities that invite guests to linger before and after appointments. Caroline and Clayton enjoyed a side-by-side couples experience, settling into a fully customized massage tailored to their individual needs, complete with indulgent chocolates and champagne.

Of course, being in Colorado invites exploration beyond the spa. Between dips in the pool and time spent soaking in the scenery, embrace the playful side of the getaway with activities like pickleball. One of the best parts of a stay here is the flexibility to shape each day however you choose, whether that means leaning fully into relaxation or filling the schedule with activity. From golf and tennis on property to nearby attractions like the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the options make it easy to balance adventure with downtime.

One of the most memorable adventures of the weekend came in the form of a guided llama hike with Luxy Llama, adding an unexpected dose of fun to the getaway. Wandering scenic trails alongside gentle, curious llamas brought a sense of adventure and spontaneity to the day, turning a simple hike into something truly memorable. Equal parts charming and entertaining, the experience invited the couple to take in the landscape, enjoy a few laughs and experience Colorado’s outdoors in a way that felt refreshingly different.

Evenings leaned fully into indulgence, beginning with custom cocktails crafted by Garden of the Gods Resort and Club mixologists Phil Vaglica and Victor Arroyo. The drinks were dubbed “The Caroline” and “The Clayton,” a playful nod to the couple and a new secret menu just for our readers. Caroline’s cocktail blended rosemary gin, lemon and house-infused hibiscus syrup, finished with egg whites and served in a classic martini glass, while Clayton’s featured orange brandy, house-infused cinnamon syrup, lemon and Luxardo syrup, gently smoked with cherrywood and served with a sugar rim in a Nick and Nora glass. Paired with an elevated dining experience that included seared black cod with avocado green chile emulsion, a 12hour smoked pork chop and a strawberry cake served with lemon curd ice cream. A dining experience that lingered in their taste buds and minds long after the weekend ended. 144
