FROM THE EDITOR

There is something about this change in seasons here in the Colorado Rockies that fills the heart with anticipation ; spring brimming with a sense of renewal and rejuvenation and summer abundant with warmth and vibrancy that makes everything feel possible. For me, these seasons are a reminder that love, similar to nature, is ever-evolving, always growing and filled with so much potential.

We can’t wait to share the magic of mountain weddings in this beautiful part of the world. From the soft blooms of spring to the golden glow of summer, Colorado provides a backdrop that’s both awe-inspiring and intimate. In this issue, we explore trends that reflect the season’s essence; colorful and romantic florals, lively outdoor affairs, and a hint of Western flair that continues to take weddings here in the Rockies by storm!

As you turn the pages, I hope you’ll feel the same thrill that we do about the endless possibilities that come with these seasons ahead. We can’t wait to see how you bring your vision to life, and I hope this edition offers you the inspiration and confidence to celebrate your love in your own unique way.

Happy planning! xx

CRESTED BUTTE - PROPOSAL

RACHEL + TIMOTHY

On St. Patrick’s Day in 2023, both Rachel and Timothy were invited to a gathering at a mutual friend’s house in Denver. When the group headed out on an evening walk, Rachel made the first move to introduce herself. Sparks immediately went off, “I still remember the moment I realized he’d be my husband,” Rachel shares. “The next day, I went to a game night with friends and invited him to come along. At the time, I had no idea he was already on his way back to Gunnison, where he was in school, but he turned back because he knew it’d be worth it.” The two went on to text and FaceTime nearly everyday until Timothy made the bold decision to drive back to Denver to take Rachel on their first date.

Just over a year later, Timothy planned an unforgettable proposal during a content retreat in Crested Butte. As Rachel prepared for what she thought was a styled photoshoot, the main photographer set the stage for Timothy’s big surprise. With wildflowers surrounding them and the mountains as a backdrop, Rachel turned to find Timothy on one knee. “Words can’t describe the rush of emotion and tears,” Rachel says about the experience. After sealing the proposal with a kiss, the lovers then proceeded to pose as a real engaged couple for the rest of the retreat.

ALEXIS + PAUL

Alexis and Paul’s story began with a fleeting encounter at Cowboys Country Bar in Colorado Springs. Paul couldn’t take his eyes off Alexis as she lit up the dancefloor, and just before the night ended, he summoned the courage to ask for her number. Though Alexis left his first text on “read,” Paul jokes about it now, knowing it was far from the end of their connection. Four years later, Paul orchestrated an unforgettable proposal at Cheyenne Mountain Resort, enlisting Alexis’ best friends to create a picture-perfect moment. With Alexis en route, Paul transformed a scenic terrace into a romantic setting decorated with candles and flowers. As Alexis arrived and walked toward him, Paul’s heart raced, just like it did the first time he saw her line dancing years before. “I know I botched the first time we met, but I’m not botching this. Alexis Glover, will you marry me?” he asked. Alexis said, “Yes!” without hesitation.

VITORIA + AUSTEN

“Austen and I were perfect strangers when he messaged me on Instagram saying, ‘Hey, you seem like a lot of fun and I was wondering if I could take you on a date sometime?’” Vitoria shares. After weeks of nonstop texting, they finally met for dinner in downtown Denver. “I was flustered trying to find parking, but when I walked in and saw him, I thought, ‘WOW, he is really, REALLY cute.’” The rest she says is a bit of a blur because their connection was instant, and within a month, they knew they had something special. Two years later, Austen planned a “V-Day” in Estes Park; a day filled with all of Vitoria’s favorite things. As they drove home in a wintery blizzard, Vitoria lamented on the fact that she had wished the two of them took more photos together. Just as they were coming up to a stunning stone church, Austen said, “Well, you brought your camera, why don’t we take some here really quick?” Even though it was freezing, Vitoria agreed and the pair pulled over for some quick photos. As they were heading back to the car, Austen spun Vitoria around, kissed her and dropped to one knee. “I could barely process what was happening; the cold disappeared, the blizzard faded and all I saw was the love of my life asking me the question I had dreamed of forever.” To make the moment even sweeter, a photographer popped out from around the corner having captured everything for the two to cherish forever.

A SIGN FROM ABOVE

Of course, Austen had already unknowingly set the stage for their engagement months before. He had bought a white 1969 Firebird, the same car his late best friend once owned. The two had made countless memories in that car, and Austen always felt his friend was one of the angels who brought him and Vitoria together. When he surprised her with it, she joked that he had gotten their getaway car before the ring.

CARRIE + BEN

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“When in doubt, dance it out! It truly brings the most joy! We do this with our two little girls as well. Also, always remember you are on the same team and remember to have fun together!”

Carrie and Ben, high school sweethearts, have been inseparable since their teenage years. After dating for six years, Ben was ready to ask Carrie to be his wife. Carrie reminisced about the moment, sharing, “Ben surprised me in Clemson University, where I went to college, at the start of our senior year. He had all my friends in on the surprise and proposed at the lake. After he proposed, we went back to my house where all of our friends threw a party for us to celebrate!” After eight years of marriage and eight moves, the couple finally settled down in Colorado where they had always dreamed of raising their two girls. To celebrate not just the milestone of their years together, but the deep bond they had built, Carrie and Ben decided to renew their vows. Carrie wore a breathtaking Badgley Mischka gown that perfectly complemented the scenic mountain backdrop. Its elegant, minimalist design was highlighted by dramatic ruffle details, adding a modern twist to the classic silhouette. The gown became the perfect piece to match the natural beauty of their anniversary shoot, making every shot feel both intimate and timeless.

JAVI + MARIANO

Three years ago, Javi and Mariano tied the knot with an intimate elopement in the mountains of Colorado. Photographer, Lauren Pippin, reflected, “Their stay at The St. Regis Aspen Resort was the epitome of sophistication, providing the perfect setting for their intimate celebration. Donning custom-made suits that reflected their unique styles, they exchanged vows surrounded by the majestic Maroon Bells. Every detail of their high-end elopement was meticulously planned to create an unforgettable experience, blending elegance and love in the heart of Aspen.” To celebrate their third anniversary, the couple returned to Aspen. Inspired by the town’s deep Western roots, they embraced a more grounded and raw aesthetic for the shoot, a tribute to the joy of simply being together. Javi shared that, for them, “luxury comes with privacy, being secluded, surrounded and inspired by nature,” a sentiment that shaped the tone of this photoshoot.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Cherish both your best and not-so-best moments. They’re equally important in making your relationship work. Be yourselves, laugh together, and always hold onto what keeps you connected. Begin and end each day with a kiss and a heartfelt thank you.”

Clara + Andrew
BOULDER - FLAGSTAFF HOUSE + BOULDER CREEK BY WEDGEWOOD WEDDINGS

Living just two doors down from one another, Clara and Andrew met through mutual friends during their law school days in Washington, D.C. Seven years later, Andrew proposed atop the gondola in Vail, with breathtaking mountain views as the backdrop. The moment was made even more special when his parents joined them for photos, followed by a celebratory lunch with Clara’s family in Vail Village. Wanting to showcase Colorado’s signature mountain charm while keeping things convenient for their out-of-town guests, the couple hosted an elegant rehearsal dinner at Flagstaff House before celebrating their wedding day at Boulder Creek by Wedgewood Weddings. “We wanted to ensure the people who traveled to celebrate with us were well taken care of,” Clara shared, reflecting on how their planner, Alexandra Turner of First Look Events, made it all possible.

One thing the groom had to have

Signature Cocktails

Wedding Cake Flavor

The cake was INCREDIBLE, it was zucchini lime with lemon curd and raspberry preserve filling.

Second-Look

I wore two dresses for the wedding day. The first was by Alexandra Grecco. I wanted something simple and classic, and I loved the dress I chose.

I then changed into a Des Phemmes dress that was embellished with beading and sequins for the reception. That was probably the most fun dress I’ve ever worn. I also changed into a black ribbon bow for my hair and black heels.

late night snacks

song that made everyone dance

“Crazy in Love“ by Beyoncé, which kicked off the dancing for the night.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND Madison McWain, our photographer

Alexandra Turner from First Look Events was incredible. She made the planning process so much more fun that I thought it would be.

Also, Haley Peters from SheLettering made an incredible hand-painted three column seating chart with lighting inside it. It was a beautiful element.

But, really everyone was incredible. All of our vendors were amazing.

Clara and Andrew planned a classic, garden-inspired wedding for 150 people. Clara walked down the aisle in a timeless Alexandra Grecco gown, setting the tone for the day’s elegant aesthetic. The highlight of the ceremony was the couple’s heartfelt personal vows, officiated by Clara’s brother, creating an emotional and intimate atmosphere. As the reception unfolded, Clara changed into a sparkling Des Phemmes dress with beaded embellishments, perfect for a night of dancing. Guests raved about the unique zucchini lime cake with lemon curd and raspberry preserves from Intricate Icings, while Rockslide Band kept the dance floor packed all night. The evening wrapped with an after-party at the St Julien Hotel & Spa, allowing the celebration to continue into the evening.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Thinking about overarching goals and priorities before you start planning will help when you start getting a lot of opinions from others or seeing too many ideas on the internet. That way, you always have some ideals to return to when you’re overwhelmed.”

Madison & Rob
LARKSPUR - SPRUCE MOUNTAIN RANCH

Madison and Rob met during their freshman year at Elon University in North Carolina. However, it wasn’t until their junior year that they began dating. After graduating, the couple moved to Denver to start the next chapter of their lives together, a chapter Rob made unforgettable with a romantic, surprise proposal. In October of 2022, Rob planned a dreamy weekend getaway to Aspen, complete with a hike to the iconic Maroon Bells. During a stroll along the Roaring Fork River, he guided Madison to the John Denver Sanctuary, where he’d arranged a photographer to capture the moment. As Rob spoke about their future together, he humorously fumbled to locate the exact rock Tara had mentioned, adding an endearing touch to the scene. Once he found the spot, he dropped to one knee and asked Madison to be his wife.

The couple planned a mountain-chic wedding for 190 guests at Spruce Mountain Ranch, set against the stunning Colorado foothills. The ceremony took place outdoors at Trey’s Vista, where a brief roll of thunder and dark clouds dramatically gave way to sunshine just as the couple’s procession began, a moment straight out of a storybook. One of the most special touches during the weekend was Madison’s reception outfit: a reimagined version of her mother’s wedding dress from the 90s. The dress was tailored into a fitted mini with a sweetheart neckline, adorned with lace and sequins, adding a sentimental yet stylish flair. Madison completed the look with a Kemo Sabe beaver hat featuring her newly branded initials, a keepsake she’ll treasure forever. During the reception, guests enjoyed a fantastic menu crafted by Epicurean Catering, including hors d’oeuvres, a brick pizza oven and decadent plated meals that left everyone raving. DJ Johnny B, Madison’s cousin, kept the celebration alive with an energetic set and guitar solos, ensuring the dance floor stayed packed all night long!

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND

All of our vendors were incredible to work with and delivered above our expectations.

The Flower Lover Club, our florist, was actually just starting out with her own company. She saw the vision immediately and delivered above and beyond our expectations! Everything from the lush altar flowers, to the cocktail hour pieces and reception design, it brought so much vibrance and color to our day.

We also wanted to give a huge shoutout to our photographer! This was one of our most important decisions when thinking about vendors, and Claire Kreklow hit it out of the park. She captured emotion, and gave some sultry to our wedding photos which we adored. We would highly recommend her to anyone!

Our videographer, Madison captured an incredible video and traveled in from Utah to share the day with us!

Our planner, Danielle Ranney at Muse Events was a pleasure to work with. It was great being around a planner that genuinely cared for you and your event, and enthusiastically made you feel reassured that everything will work out and go according to plan. She was on top of every vendor and detail, and available to hop on calls at any point leading up to our wedding. She made us feel like a guest on our special day.

Epicurean Catering offered an opportunity to sample the menu and were happy to accommodate recommendations and ideas. Our guests had incredible things to say and everything from hors d’oeuvres to the plated meals were fantastic. Having delicious food for us to enjoy was huge, and Epicurean truly went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations!

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Keep your focus on each other through the planning and especially the day of! The planning process was a ton of fun, but also had some times of stress. In the end it felt like it would have been the perfect day no matter what details were different. Everyone who’s been married will tell you to make sure to pause throughout the day and focus on each other - DO IT!

We felt so happy and incredibly blessed to celebrate with friends and family, try all the food, enjoy the weather and the whole setupbut the moments we looked in each other’s eyes and lived in the beautiful moment will be the memories we most cherish forever.”

Cheyenne & Thomas

Cheyenne and Thomas first met in their seventh grade social studies class, where Thomas, the class clown, teased Cheyenne, the ambitious know-it-all. Though their paths went separate ways after high school, fate brought them back together years later through the Hinge dating app, a connection both attributed to prayer and faith. “I matched with Thomas on the last day I planned to stay on the app, and he was the first person I saw,” Cheyenne shared. After reconnecting, the pair dated for four months before Thomas planned to get down on one knee at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs during a joint birthday trip. Thomas proposed in front of the Victorian townhomes, and the couple celebrated with a surprise dinner surrounded by family and friends.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND Our vendor team was STACKED.

Absolute A-list team all around, which was my goal.

As a wedding photographer, I didn’t want to have to think about anything day-of. I was looking for visionaries and artists that were experts at their craft. I gave my vision and told them to run. And they did. Brittany with The Flower Lover Club and Sarah Kempers truly worked wonders.

Aesthetically, florals and photos were our priority and we could not have been happier.

Cheyenne and Thomas planned an elegant, French-inspired wedding with a hint of Southern charm for 85 guests. Their ceremony at Three Trees Chapel fulfilled Cheyenne’s dream of a classic chapel wedding, while the reception at Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms offered a breathtaking floral backdrop. Cheyenne wore a stunning A-line gown with floral details and custom puff sleeves from LUV Bridal, paired with a cathedral-length veil. For the reception, she swapped her heels for white cowboy boots, a nod to her Southern roots, while Thomas complemented her in a sharp black tux and Lucchese boots. The couple shared private communion and heartfelt prayers before the ceremony, while Cheyenne’s mother honored her Polish heritage by baking an incredible 1,900 cookies for the reception’s cookie table. The celebration continued beneath a sailcloth tent filled with farmhouse tables, dinner lamps and Frenchinspired dishes, with every detail thoughtfully designed to create a warm, inviting atmosphere.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“This may be incredibly niche, but we chose to keep our day centered on what it was, a celebration of a new covenant with God. We were blessed with a beautiful day, but ultimately our biggest piece of advice for those tying the knot for the same reason we did is to consistently go back to this holy union as the reason for our day. Jesus has blessed Thomas and I with incredible communities and a beautiful life, and now each other. And we truly just wanted our guests to see a glimpse of our love and His love for all of us.”

Sara & Tyler

With a quick swipe of the finger, Sara and Tyler’s lives became forever intertwined. Shortly after meeting, Sara moved from Pennsylvania to Colorado. So while their relationship started with miles between them, Tyler finally made the leap to join Sara in Colorado Springs. After four years of dating and a move back to Pennsylvania, Tyler planned a surprise return trip to Colorado to visit some of their favorite people and places. Little did Sara know, he had something even bigger in store.

During the trip, he took her to a spot with an amazing view of the mountains where he got down on one knee and proposed. Afterward, they celebrated with an intimate dinner at The Broadmoor, a place that had become the heart of their love story.

When it came time to plan their wedding, there was no question The Broadmoor was the only choice. Their wedding embraced a European summer aesthetic, with pastel hues, organic florals and an aisle lined with delicate alliums, romantic roses and fluttering sweet peas. Sara wore the NEWHITE Haven Gown, while Tyler made a statement in a deep green suit. With her twin brother officiating, their personal vows made for an unforgettable ceremony, leading into a night of endless dancing. Instead of a grand exit, they ended the night exactly how they wanted, pizza in hand, cocktails flowing and celebrating with their loved ones at the hotel bar.

Our photographer, Kaitlyn Marie Photography, was absolutely amazing. She captured our day perfectly. Every single photo was beautiful and she made my picture hating husband enjoy the whole process!

My makeup artist, Mayra Fluentes, and hair stylist, Darien Carrillo, absolutely killed it. My bridesmaids, mom and I looked and felt beautiful for the whole entire day. They matched the energy of me and the girls, no stress, just fun and good vibes!

And of course, Briana of KAE Weddings, our planner!

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“The best advice I can give is to make sure your wedding day is all about you—about what you love and what feels true to you as a couple. Keep it authentic, and focus on celebrating your love. When you do that, your friends and family will feel it, and the whole day will have this amazing energy. Honestly, you won’t even remember the little details, but you will remember how everything felt. Find ways to add little touches that show off your personalities—those are the things that will make your day feel unique and special. Just enjoy the ride, and make it yours!”

COVER STORY

LITTLETON - THE MANOR HOUSE

Leah & Grant

Leah and Grant met through a very close connection, Grant’s little sister, Alexa, who was one of Leah’s best friends from high school. What started as a friendship quickly grew into something more, and after a few years together, they took a leap and moved from California to Colorado to start a new chapter. Four years into their relationship, Grant proposed in grand fashion on New York City, New York’s Pier 57, with the skyline as their backdrop and a surprise weekend in Manhattan filled with family, friends and a Billy Joel concert, Leah’s favorite artist.

With Colorado becoming the place they built their life together, Leah and Grant knew it was only fitting to say “I do” in the state they now call home. The couple planned a modern-traditional wedding for 165 of their closest family and friends at The Manor House, where timeless charm met vibrant summer florals to bring their vision to life. For the ceremony, Leah wore a chic Jane Hill gown that she later transformed, shedding the overskirt after cocktail hour and adding gloves for a playful dancing look. As the night carried on, she slipped into a sequined Retrofête mini dress for late-night celebrations and their grand getaway in a Rolls Royce. The wedding weekend ended on a high note with a day-after concert at Red Rocks on the Fourth of July.

ASPEN - PINE CREEK COOKHOUSE

Khaki & Andrew

Khaki and Andrew met their freshman year at the University of Georgia and began dating a year later. The duo became inseparable and after eight years together, Andrew knew it was time to make it official. During a winter spent in Salt Lake City, Utah, maximizing his ski time, Andrew planned a romantic snowshoeing outing to propose to Khaki. “He had scouted a beautiful waterfront spot,” Khaki shared, “but the blizzard I brought with me buried it under 20 inches of snow!” With his original plan buried in powder, Andrew pivoted to an intimate grove surrounded by tall evergreens. As snow fell softly around them, he proposed on the spot. “It was magical, private and so on-brand for Andrew,” Khaki recalled of the unforgettable moment.

I re-wore my rehearsal dinner dress because my bridesmaids convinced me everyone loves a “sustainable queen” and it was a great decision. It was mini so I could flail around the dance floor and it didn’t require any crazy uncomfortable undergarments.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND

Sunnie and her assistant were so fantastic. People don’t really talk about how much time you spend with your photographer on the day of your wedding, so its important that they are a good hang and your guests feel comfortable around them. She did such an amazing job putting everyone at ease and capturing them at their best and most charismatic.

Also, Bethany, our florist. We asked for Colorado wildflowers and she killed it! Her colors and textures were so beautifully arranged and the ceremony installation was so romantic and whimsical while still highlighting the breathtaking landscape.

The couple worked with White Birch Weddings & Events to plan an intimate wedding weekend that beautifully combined their love of wildflowers and skiing. Prioritizing quality time with family and friends, Khaki and Andrew kicked off the celebration with a group hike, including their two dogs, and scheduled most of their photos before the ceremony to be able to fully enjoy the wedding reception. “Walking up the trail arm in arm and seeing all our loved ones beaming at us was euphoric,” Khaki shared of their favorite moment. Inspired by the vibrant wildflowers in bloom, Khaki wove their colors and textures into every detail, from the bridesmaids’ dresses to the romantic, whimsical ceremony installation that perfectly complemented the breathtaking landscape. Andrew’s passion for skiing was also reflected throughout the day, with a ski-themed seating chart titled “Find Your Mountain” and tables marked by lift tickets from their favorite resorts. The night ended on a high note as guests waved fiber optic wands, creating a vibrant scene while Khaki and Andrew led the way to their exit.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“During the planning process if anything becomes too stressful or takes away from the fun of the experiencejust cut it out. It’s not necessary.

Also, tradition is only as important as you make it so you do you.”

Kendra & Logan

Kendra and Logan, both star athletes, met during their college days at the University of Denver, where Kendra played lacrosse and Logan played hockey. After seven years of dating, Logan proposed in front of The Manor House, a venue located in the neighborhood where Kendra grew up. Their dog, Billie, and Kendra’s family were there to celebrate the heartfelt moment. Opting for a long engagement, the couple thoughtfully planned a timeless wedding weekend in Vail, welcoming just under 200 guests to share in their special day. To kick off the celebrations, Kendra shared, “For our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks at Chasing Rabbits, we did a ‘Vibrant in Vail’ dress code for our guests. Chasing Rabbits is so unique and lively, we wanted our guests to match the energy of the venue.”

Keeping the aesthetic minimalist and classic, Kendra and Logan wanted to let the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains take center stage! Kendra looked stunning in her Jane Hill Bridal gown with a detachable train and Loeffler Randall heels, while Logan sported a navy tux from his family’s Calgary, Alberta, store, O’Connor’s, complete with custom cufflinks engraved with their dog Billie’s photo. Billie, an important part of their family, joined the festivities by getting ready with the couple and even participating in the first look. During the reception, light-up cowboy hats paid homage to Logan’s Calgarian roots and added a fun, western twist to the dance floor, which the couple never left all night.

Molly & Lucas

Molly and Lucas first met through Molly’s cousin, Kelly, when their friend groups intertwined at a summer beach house. From the moment they spent Memorial Day weekend together in 2018, the two were inseparable. Nearly five years later, Lucas proposed in the most intimate way, at home, in their first shared apartment, surrounded by photos and memories he’d carefully curated. With a hidden microphone to capture every word and a cozy breakfast setup awaiting them, he ensured Molly could relive the moment forever. Afterward, he took her to a surprise engagement photoshoot before revealing the ultimate gift, friends and family who had flown in from all over the country to celebrate.

Wanting a venue that felt like home, the couple chose Devil’s Thumb Ranch, a nod to their shared love of the mountains. With 175 guests staying on property, their wedding weekend felt like an elevated summer camp with breathtaking views. They envisioned a design blending “Ranch Meets The Great Gatsby,” balancing the venue’s rugged beauty with opulent details. The space was filled with lush, feminine peonies, dark purple dahlias and dusty pink ranunculus. The ceremony took place in a sunlit field, where guests watched in awe as Molly walked down the aisle to “Yellow” by Coldplay before exchanging heartfelt vows with Lucas in a ceremony officiated by his brother.

Molly’s wedding weekend fashion was just as thoughtfully curated as the decor. For the ceremony, she wore a Lihi Hod gown with removable sleeves, allowing her to transform her look throughout the evening. She accessorized with a vintage pearl choker, a custom lace veil by Guillermo Couture and a sentimental bracelet from her late grandmother, gifted by her father. As a surprise for her mom, she changed into a vintage high-neck gown from Happy Isles Salon for the reception. And, for her final look, a custom beaded mini dress by Guillermo Couture, was a true statement piece for a dazzling after-party ensemble. Lucas complemented her elegance in a Suitsupply tux with a custom-lined interior and their wedding date stitched under the collar, paired with Del Toro velvet slippers and an Oris watch Molly gifted him on their wedding day.

Inside the reception barn, the ambiance shifted from soft and airy to bold and dramatic. Long farm tables glowed under dimly lit crystal candelabras, with vibrant florals adding warmth and depth. Grand chandeliers draped from the ceiling, casting a golden glow over the packed dance floor, where Élan Artists kept the celebration going well into the night. As the evening came to a close, guests gathered along a winding outdoor staircase, where towering sparklers lined the couple’s exit, a dazzling send-off into married life.

favorite thing purchased for your wedding day

Aside from my wedding dress itself, I would absolutely have to say that it was the vintage pearl choker that I wore with my wedding dress. I’ll never forget that during my junior year of college, I came back to school after fall break wearing a beautiful beaded choker that my mom had made for me. I remember receiving a mixture of compliments and questions because chokers were not very “in” at that time. I was proud to rock an accessory that wasn’t quite yet back “on trend” because I’ve always loved breaking those fashion barriers, but even prouder to be able to tell people that my mom had made it herself. So, when it came to accessorizing my wedding gown, I knew almost from the start that I’d wanted to wear a pearl choker of some sort. After sourcing for months on end with my Mom, online and in-store, we finally found one on Etsy that fit our vision. Wearing this felt like an ode to my mom and I’s shared love of fashion and the idea that we don’t have to wait for trends to come back in or go out; let’s treat them as though they never left.

We had three; “The Marvine Old Fashion” - a typical old fashion, named after the street we now live on where we bought our first house together, “Lucas’s Spicy Ranch Water” - a spin on a ranch water with tajin on the rim and some jalapeno zest and “Molly’s French 75” - your typical french 75 but opted for vodka instead of gin!

second-look

A vintage High Neck Gown from Happy Isles Salon. This dress change was a surprise to everyone, including Lucas, my mom, and my Maid of Honor! My second look was a vintage dress from Happy Isles Salon in New York City and was something that I did not expect to find. One of the more important things to me throughout curating all of my wedding weekend looks was that I didn’t want to wear things that I felt like I’d seen over and over on previous brides, a much harder task than you’d think! So - I made a last minute appointment at Happy Isles towards the end of May and scored big.

The piece had a high neck collar with silver beading throughout and it fit me like a glove. It was so fun to throw this on mid reception and incredibly special to know that I was wearing a one of one piece! The rush of going in and out of the party to change into different looks was something that my fashion obsessed self absolutely loved and would do it over again a million times.

Late Night Snacks

Philly cheesesteaks, pizza, breakfast sandwiches, french fries and Espresso Martinis of course!

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND

All of the vendors for our wedding were outstanding. Every single one of them. But without a doubt I would have to say that Alicia and Adam from Bows and Arrows went above and beyond as a vendor. From our very first time meeting via Zoom, we were in love with Alicia and Adam. Flowers are something that’s hugely important to me and Alicia gave us the freedom and comfortability to be super involved in the process. From discussing color palettes all the way down to different shades of peach, to the overall way in which the florals were laid out, she was not only open to collaboration, but just as excited as we were about it!

Each arrangement was a lush tapestry of deep, rich hues and delicate textures, capturing the romantic essence we envisioned. It was evident that the placement of every single flower had intention and thought behind it while still maintaining some natural elements. Bows and Arrows didn’t just exceed our expectations, they elevated the entire atmosphere, capturing the moody, colorful and romantic essence that was so central to the wedding.

Their commitment to excellence was evident in every arrangement throughout the entire weekend. Their work transformed each space and became a defining feature of the celebration, and the thing that the majority of our guests still talk about to this day. We will be forever grateful.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“It goes by even quicker than you can imagine, so I would say be sure to take intentional moments throughout not just the weekend itself but the year+ of planning, where you step back and really take in your surroundings... the people, the energy, the beauty, the laughs and the tears, and even the stress of planning...it’s all something you will look back on and wish you could have bottled up so just try and soak up every moment, big or small.”

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND Linden Wilson, our photographer, was amazing. She did everything to make us feel more comfortable and was so chill. Her energy was so helpful on the day to make it fun but still calm.

Our baker, Jen Harris of Raven Street Bakery, went above and beyond to make the cake fully gluten free and even left her camping trip early to make sure the cake was the freshest it could be.

Like many couples, Lauren and Nicole met on a dating app. Lauren broke the ice with a notso-typical first question, asking what ice cream flavor best described Nicole’s personality. Nicole replied with “cookie dough!” because she might appear to be a basic vanilla at first, but she reveals surprises as you dig in and discover chunks of cookie dough the more you get to know her.”

Over the next two years, Lauren uncovered every delightful piece of cookie dough before Nicole proposed at their home in Denver with a romantic dinner and private chef. The couple planned a mountain-elegant wedding at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, with just nine guests, prioritizing intimacy above all else. After exchanging private vows on the chair lifts, the newlyweds joined their loved ones for an al fresco dinner under twinkling lights. To cap off the evening, Lauren and Nicole enjoyed their gluten-free wedding cake while relaxing in the hot tub.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Know that you deserve to be celebrated.”

SCOBEYS PHOTOGRAPHY

Textured & Timeless

Inspired by the artful minimalism and rich textures of MOLLIE Aspen, this editorial, planned by Stargazed Weddings and Events, brings luxury to life in the mountains. Once the historic Mollie Gibson Lodge, the newly reimagined boutique hotel blends Japanese-inspired design with Aspen’s cultural heritage, creating the perfect backdrop for an effortlessly modern celebration. Every detail of the wedding honored the hotel’s clean lines, curated textiles and organic materials, from the woven linens by BBJ La Tavola to the refined letterpress invitations by Skelley West Design Co. A palette of warm terra cotta, slate blue and ivory reflected both the venue’s aesthetic and the natural hues of Aspen’s landscape.

Set upon the breathtaking Roof Terrace, the couple exchanged vows amid sculptural floral arrangements designed by The Story Of. The ceremony florals featured grasses, smokebush, foraged oak foliage and striking banksia blooms, housed in ceramic vases. The bride’s bouquet embodied modern elegance, pairing sleek white calla lilies, delicate stephanotis, explosion grass and sculptural kiwi vine branches for a refined yet organic feel. Her Alon Livne gown, featuring a structured corset bodice, felt both historic and modern, a nod to the feminine styles of Aspen’s silver-mining era, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Meanwhile, the groom donned the Tan Venice suit from Friar Tux.

As the evening transitioned into a warm and inviting reception, guests were welcomed to a thoughtfully styled tablescape, where Majolica spray roses, coreopsis and sculptural branches intertwined with smokebush and explosion grass, adding depth to the design. Coppelia Cake Design complemented the day’s aesthetic with a buttercream cake featuring raked vertical and horizontal stripes, mirroring the woven-inspired linen selections. After dinner and cake, the newlyweds and their guests moved to MOLLIE’s Roof Terrace Bar, where they toasted the night with craft cocktails in an intimate, moody setting before retreating to their luxurious suite for a stylish end to the celebration.

Moody Hues + Modern Love

Heirlooms Design curated an intimate courthouse elopement blending oldworld charm with a fresh, fashionforward edge. The couple exchanged vows in a historic Durango department building, transformed into a courthouse moment straight out of a modern love story. The bride stunned in a sleek Halston Heritage gown, draped in a vintage fur coat, balancing effortless and dramatic. Meanwhile, the groom’s sharp black suit with striped socks kept things classic yet undeniably cool.

At the Rochester Hotel, the reception tablescape embraced a modern aesthetic with black accents, scalloped plates, flickering candlelight and artful floral installations, creating an effortlessly stylish yet intimate setting. As the evening unfolded, a moody yet romantic palette of neutral tones, deep black and bold pops of chartreuse, burgundy, tawny and blush created a rich and sophisticated atmosphere. Adela Flora brought the vision to life with sculptural arrangements of reflexed tulips, orchids, anthurium and artichokes, adding warmth and texture to every space.

As a sweet finale, Flour Disco crafted a vintage-inspired sweetheart cake, adorned with intricate piping and decorated with black satin bows. Served on fluted cream plates, each slice revealed layers of white almond sour cream with raspberry, chocolate with salty caramel and pistachio with lemon curd. Luckily, the evening didn’t end there. The Rochester Hotel offered the perfect end to the evening, where the newlyweds could settle in, sip a nightcap and wake up as husband and wife.
