Jenn and Ryan first struck up a conversation at the hotel bar following the rehearsal dinner of a mutual friend’s wedding. While they shared a few dances at the reception, the weekend came to a close with the two parting as friends, each returning to finish medical training on opposite sides of the country. They stayed in touch, and a year later made things official, navigating long distance until both relocated to Colorado together in 2023. A little over two years later, Ryan planned a day filled with thoughtful surprises, first leading Jenn on a hike to Panorama Point near Evergreen, where he got down on one knee at the top of their hike and asked her to be his forever. Halfway down the trail, Jenn’s parents were tucked away waiting to surprise her, followed by her two best friends who arrived one by one throughout the day. That evening, Ryan’s parents and one of his closest friends joined everyone for a celebratory dinner, turning the proposal into a full day shared with the people they love most.

Having modeled with the photographer before, Kylie didn’t think twice about the setup and went along with each prompt, completely unaware of what was coming. Naomi and Brett met on the very first day of their first real job out of college. A relationship that started as strictly coworkers quickly turned into a natural, easy friendship, built on “lunches together, quick conversations between meetings, lingering a little longer than necessary at our desks,” until it became clear they were showing up for more than just work. It didn’t take long for Brett to ask Naomi on their first date to a cute little hole-in-the-wall pizza spot. Five years later, after growing through every season of life side by side, Brett planned a surprise proposal during a getaway to Aspen. What began as a cozy mountain trip turned unforgettable, as Naomi shared, “When we stepped outside the elevator, I saw the most stunning arrangement of flowers with a snow-dusted mountain backdrop, straight out of a movie. It had been snowing nonstop for 24 hours, and somehow, in that exact moment, the sky cleared, the snow stopped and the sun came out just for us.” In that moment, surrounded by fresh snow and golden light, he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife.

They met up for their first date at The Family Jones Distillery and as Lauren reminisced, “It was truly love at first sight!” From that moment on, they never stopped dating, bonding over their shared love of skiing, travel and good food. Four years later, Shiloh invited Lauren on what she thought would be a scenic gondola ride during peak leaf season in Vail. Instead, at the top of Lionshead Mountain, he got down on one knee, turning an ordinary afternoon into the most unforgettable moment. Rachel and Mike met for their first date at Eight Row Flint, where they shared the restaurant’s famous ranch waters, a drink they would later incorporate into one of their signature wedding cocktails. If you ask Mike, however, he might tell you the tall tale of how they first met in the canoes at summer camp in Texas. Rachel did attend summer camp in Texas as a child, but Mike certainly did not! Two years later, Rachel’s family planned a trip to Mykonos, Greece, to celebrate her mom’s 60th birthday. Just one week before the trip, Mike booked a last-minute flight and secretly joined the celebration. On the second evening, Rachel was told the family would be taking photos for her mom’s birthday, but when she walked onto the deck overlooking the ocean, she found Mike waiting to propose. Completely surprised, Rachel said “Yes!” and the couple spent the rest of the evening celebrating at a beach club with her family and their friends.

THE COUPLE EDIT FAVORITE PURCHASE My favorite purchase, honestly, was H-E-B butter tortillas. I brought them fresh from Texas so we could have breakfast tacos while getting ready the wedding morning. LATE NIGHT SNACKS Crazy Elk Pizza, french fries and chicken tenders VENDOR LOVE Ashley from Studio Ashmohr, she was such an important part of my planning experience. My whole invitation suite and wedding paper products were a labor of love. She did such a good job capturing the wedding personality through our invitation suite and we had such a fun time designing all the paper products. From the ceremony booklets matching my fabrics to the Last Dollar Martini Club hats, her touch on my wedding was monumental. She was there during the pouring rain making sure all of my day-of paper made it through to the wedding. She was incredible. Runaway Vows, Nathan George and Sutton worked as a true team, taking the time to understand Mike and me so our vision came through exactly as we’d imagined. The Western night photoshoot with Nathan was a highlight of the weekend, the way he and Runaway Vows played off each other’s work made the whole shoot feel effortless. Working with them was such a fun experience as a bride. They gave me so much confidence and really helped me feel present in those big life moments.

Rachel and Mike’s wedding weekend kicked off with an Italian garden party rehearsal dinner at Rachel’s parents’ home, followed by a Western-inspired welcome party on Friday evening. On the wedding day, 160 of their closest friends and family joined them for a black-tie celebration at Lower Golden Ledge at Aldasoro Weddings. There, towering aspens anchored the ceremony site, while soft ground florals in shades of baby blue, lavender and purple lined the aisle. Although an unexpected storm delayed the ceremony, the skies eventually cleared, revealing the season’s first snow, which dusted the mountaintops as the couple exchanged vows. Immediately after the ceremony, guests made their way into the reception tent, where they were seated as the sun set across the mountains. Rachel shared that one of the evening’s most memorable details was the Last Dollar Martini Club, a custom martini bar named in honor of Telluride and complete with its own neon sign and personalized hats that made their way onto the dance floor.

One evening while scrolling through Hinge, Cat came across, as she describes, “a very cool man in an allspandex cycling outfit, mysteriously looking out over Dominguez Canyon.” Intrigued, she decided to reach out, and after chatting late into the night, the two made plans to meet at City Park in Denver. What started as a simple first date quickly turned into something more, and a little over four years later, they found themselves back where it all began. During a walk through the park in November, Lukas managed to keep Cat guessing just long enough before leading her to the very bench where they first met. There, he shared a few heartfelt words before getting down on one knee to ask her to be his wife. Her answer? “Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!”

Cat and Lukas went on to plan a minimalist and fun wedding weekend complete with nods to Cat’s Chinese heritage, hosting 70 of their closest friends and family in Winter Park. As Cat shared, “We wanted a wedding that felt like a destination getaway without creating a major travel or planning hassle for our guests.” Their ceremony took place at the top of Winter Park, where sweeping mountain views set the tone, complemented by a soft, autumninspired ground arch that added just enough detail while still letting the scenery take center stage. After saying “I do,” the couple honored tradition with a Chinese tea ceremony where they served tea to their elders and received gifts in return. The celebration carried into the evening as dinner began with a lively lion dance performance, with guests invited to offer red envelopes to the lions for good luck. Anna and Dalton met while earning their biomedical sciences master’s degrees at Colorado State University. With fall being her favorite season, she had always dreamed of seeing the leaves change in the mountains, but one year while they were dating, they made the drive only to find the trees already bare. The very next year, Dalton planned the ultimate proposal, bringing her back for a fall getaway and getting down on one knee surrounded by vibrant, colorful leaves that made the moment feel even more special. Anna and Dalton always knew they wanted to get married in the Rockies, and after touring Devil’s Thumb Ranch, it was a clear choice. They went on to plan a whimsical and moody wedding for 115 of their closest friends and family.

THE COUPLE EDIT FAVORITE PURCHASE My wedding dress, of course! I wore The Gayle by Cinq, and it was the most perfect, beautiful dress of my dreams. SOMETHING BLUE Years ago, my brother and I gifted our mom a blue topaz necklace. For my wedding, she gave me the stone and let me create a ring with it to wear on my wedding day. Rob likes to say that he and Remy met in the kombucha aisle at Whole Foods, but Remy remembers it a little differently. After matching on Hinge shortly after she moved to Denver, the pair met for drinks at Catbird in RiNo. Remy still vividly recalls pulling up to the iconic pink hotel and spotting Rob leaning against the wall in a gray-green chromatic outfit, complete with long dark hair and a bold mustache. It’s a moment she has never forgotten. Just two years later, during a winter weekend in Evergreen, Rob suggested the couple take a walk around the lake despite the bitter cold. Thankfully, Remy agreed. As they crossed the bridge, Rob got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. After she joyfully said “Yes!” Remy’s sister and her partner emerged from hiding to capture the moment on camera. The newly engaged couple celebrated with champagne before reuniting with their parents and closest friends for a surprise dinner in honor of their next chapter together.

When I finally did, I ended up redesigning it a bit, removing some fabric and making small changes to match the look I fell in love with. It turned out even better than I imagined and truly became one of a kind. It felt so ‘me,’ and I couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect dress for our day. Even though they were all separate vendors, a videographer, content creator, and photographer, they got along so well and bounced ideas off each other seamlessly. It was amazing because we were able to get content right away. We just received our photographs and still have our full video to look forward to, which has made reliving the day even more special. We also can’t say enough about the two managers at the A-Frame Club, Susanne and Kelly. They are truly exceptional. They treated us like family and focused on every single detail, down to making sure my mom always had a carafe of tea in her hand. Their care and attention made the entire experience feel effortless and personal, they were absolutely amazing.

After stumbling across A-Frame Club on Instagram, Remy and Rob knew they had found the perfect setting for their retro mountain chic wedding weekend. Known for her love of funky patterns, bold colors and playful accessories, Remy infused her personality into each look throughout the weekend. For the welcome party, she wore a vibrant yellow Bernadette dress while Rob opted for a blue suit. On the wedding day, Remy chose a Paco Rabanne gown, customizing the design by removing the collar for a look that felt simple, comfortable and effortlessly chic, while Rob complemented her in a tricolor suit woven with rich shades of brown. Later that evening, Remy slipped into a satin green dress paired with blue snakeskin boots and a pink cowgirl hat for the afterparty. Keeping their earth-conscious values in mind, the couple allowed the natural beauty of the setting to take center stage, opting for minimal decor and letting the energy of their loved ones shape the celebration. Their dog joined in the festivities, while colorful floral arrangements by Fair Verona Floral added just the right amount of personality and polish to the mountain surroundings.

ADVICE The hardest part of wedding planning is getting started. Deciding on guest numbers and finding a venue that works can feel overwhelming. Rob wanted a big wedding, I wanted a small one, and we finally landed on 70 guests after a bunch of honest conversations. Lean into those tough conversations, you’re preparing for marriage, after all. Delegate tasks with your partner and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Talk about budget with family early, and make sure everyone is clear on wiggle room and non-negotiables. Most importantly, enjoy the process. Don’t let the cliché ‘wedding stress’ take over, the day flies by in the blink of an eye!

After two years of dating, Cole proposed on Juliet’s birthday during a sunset visit to Sycamore Cove Beach in California. With Colorado always holding a special place in their hearts, they chose to host an elegant mountaintop wedding in Telluride for 130 of their friends and family. Kendall and Kevin met at a friend’s house before a concert, where they spent the evening talking and dancing before parting ways without exchanging numbers. To Kendall’s surprise, a few days later, Kevin slid into Kendall’s DMs, and despite Kevin leaving on tour shortly after their first date, the two quickly grew closer. And, just three years later, during a Labor Day weekend getaway with friends, Kevin surprised Kendall with a proposal overlooking a picturesque mountain lake. Thinking the weekend was meant to celebrate another couple’s engagement, she never saw it coming.

With the help of Riviera Creative, Kendall and Kevin brought their vision of a romantic, cozy and organic celebration to life in Buena Vista, where Kendall first realized she wanted to marry Kevin. Kendall stunned in a pleated Danielle Frankel gown and veil paired with Jimmy Choo heels, while Kevin wore a custom suit from Bespoke Edge. Surrounded by 225 of their closest friends and family, the couple exchanged vows beneath a lush floral arch with their beloved dogs by their side and the Collegiate Peaks serving as their witness. A palette of rich greens, soft neutrals and colorful garden-inspired blooms carried guests from the ceremony to a sailcloth tent reception where Kendall slipped into a shimmering gold Cult Gaia dress. THE COUPLE EDIT ADVICE You end up spending quite a bit of your wedding weekend with your photographer and videographer. Liking their style is important, but they’re so much more likely to capture good photos and videos of you if you’re having fun. Choose people you vibe with! FAVORITE PURCHASE Honestly, the sun parasols for the ceremony were one of the best things we bought. The ceremony site had zero shade, and the parasols were such a vibe in photos. Also I really loved my Jimmy Choos. FRAGRANCE Matcha 26 by Le Labo SOMETHING BLUE My dear friend gave me a handkerchief with “Something Blue” embroidered on it. HIS NON-NEGOTIABLE Good music and a custom suit AISLE SONG Kevin walked down the aisle with his mom to Ella Fitzgerald’s “Sunshine of Your Love” and I walked with my dad to “Can I Call You Rose?” by Thee Sacred Souls. SIGNATURE COCKTAILS The “Praia da Rocha” was a tamarind tequila drink named for both our dog, Rocha, and a beach we love in Portugal. The “Little Lily” was a cucumber G&T named for our other dog, Lily, and the Widespread Panic song she was named after. FIRST DANCE SONG “Thank You” by Bonnie Raitt SECOND-LOOK I wore a sequined dress from Cult Gaia to the afterparty. SONG THAT MADE EVERYONE DANCE The dance floor was packed throughout, but “Pony” by Ginuwine and “I Wanna Be Your Lover” by Prince were two standout hits. LATE NIGHT SNACK Domino’s thin crust pizza at the afterparty. VENDOR LOVE Our photographer, Laur Fernandez Photography, videographer, KP Visuals, and wedding planner, Riviera Creative, were truly a dream team. The photos and videos from our wedding day were so exceptional, and Keely, our planner made sure everything was taken care of and seamless. They all work so well together and made time spent taking photos/videos fun. If I could do it all over again, I’d choose this vendor trio a million times over. Our florist, Rose Bud Thorn Florals, was also incredible. Our ceremony florals were absolutely gorgeous, and she repurposed all of them in the reception tent. She even sourced actual TREES for inside the tent and created some truly breathtaking hanging installations. I loved our entire vendor team and can’t say enough good things about all of them.

After matching on Bumble, Maxine and Isak headed to Denver’s Vesper Lounge for their first date. Three years later, Isak proposed during a winter trip to Davos, Switzerland, where Maxine’s family had long spent their holidays. As the sun set over the snow-covered mountains on New Year’s Eve, he got down on one knee at a scenic overlook and asked Maxine to be his forever. The couple welcomed 115 guests to Snowmass for a winter wedding inspired by the warmth and charm of a Colorado chalet. As avid skiers, they chose Snowmass for its mountain culture and easy access for their European family.

A cozy, dinner party atmosphere shaped every part of the weekend, from a creekside ceremony, where the couple's dog, Lila, wandered among guests during their vows, to cocktail hour in the home's living room, a candlelit reception beneath a clear-top tent, and an afterparty in the property's barn. Maxine wore a pearl-embellished Sarah Seven gown with a soft wrap before changing into a highneck lace tunic by Yellow The Label for the afterparty, while Isak completed the look in a modern tuxedo with patent loafers. Of course, European traditions were woven throughout the celebration with a cheese raclette station, German-inspired cuisine and homemade goulash served by the bride's mother late into the evening.

Mara and Tiler celebrated their engagement at Black Cat Farm in Boulder and designed nearly identical custom rings with Luz Made. A little over six months later, they were joined by 13 close friends in Telluride for an elegant, slightly Western and feminine weekend filled with skiing, delicious meals and plenty of celebrating. When it came time to make things official, however, it was just Mara, Tiler and their two dogs. Personal details appeared throughout the weekend, including a custom ranch brand created from their initials and featured on their vow books, hats and the dogs’ bandanas. Mara also wore a vintage gold “M” pin that belonged to her grandmother, while the couple completed their looks with matching creamy gray cowboy hats finished with brown leather hatbands and subtle silver hearts. After privately reading their vows, the couple signed their marriage license and, of course, had their dogs serve as witnesses with paw-print stamps.

THE COUPLE EDIT FAVORITE PURCHASES Our custom rings and custom hats. We also loved how the cake turned out, and we’re glad we put the time, energy and money into that detail. Since we were there over our annual ski closing weekend, we bought matching white ski suits from a Colorado company called Half Days for the occasion. They turned heads on the mountain, and everyone was excited when they learned why we were wearing matching outfits. We rounded out the look with matching white helmets and cream-colored gloves. FRAGRANCE Tiler wore I Don’t Know What by D.S. & Durga. Mara wore Dirty Rice by Born to Stand Out, a niche Korean fragrance house. She’s received so many compliments on it that she’s almost hesitant to reveal it. NON-NEGOTIABLE Tiler had to have the dogs’ paw prints on the marriage license. SIGNATURE COCKTAILS Since we didn’t have a traditional reception, we didn’t have a dedicated bar with signature cocktails, but each dinner venue had a great cocktail program. At the first, a mezcal drink was a favorite. At the second, everyone loved a jambased cocktail, served with a spoonful of jam you stir into your spirit of choice. CAKE FLAVORS Almond vanilla cake with vanilla frosting

SECOND-LOOK Mara’s second look, slightly more formal, was a white jumpsuit with a sheer back and sheer sleeves, paired again with white heels featuring more shine and sparkle. My second outfit was a strapless, body-skimming, floor-length white dress, worn with a chiffon scarf around my neck that flowed down the back like a veil worn with closed-toe pointed off-white heels. VENDOR LOVE We were lucky that our wedding photographer is one of our closest friends — shoutout to Becca of Rebecca Haley Photography. She went above and beyond, spending two full days photographing us all over the mountain, in town, at our hotel, at the courthouse and even on the gondola. We rented a space at the ski resort with a beautiful view, and she joined us for a sunset shoot at 9,000–10,000 feet elevation in the cold, making the most of it. She was wonderful with our dogs and incorporated them in such fun ways. She even brought her camera to one of our dinners and captured amazing shots of all of us celebrating, plus curated photos of our guests, such a thoughtful, above-and-beyond touch. The photos turned out better than we ever could have imagined, and they still don’t feel real when we look at them. Our other close friend, Gina Dodge of Drawn to Flowers, put together our bouquets for the weekend and also went above and beyond. We were pleasantly surprised that she’d made small bouquets for the dogs’ collars, plus provided extra flowers throughout the house and hotel room, special touches we had no idea were coming. She made both fresh and dried bouquets, since we weren’t sure what the weather would be like or how long fresh flowers would last over the week we’d be there. Having never worked with a professional florist before, we didn’t quite know how to communicate our vision up front, but she brought it to life perfectly and really captured who we are.

ADVICE Trust the universe to ultimately bring your plans to life in the best way for you. Don’t feel pressure to do anything a certain way, go in the direction that feels least stressful and most like yourselves. Focus on what will make you and your partner happiest and most present in the moment. You want to be able to look back on it and really feel so vividly there again as much as you possibly can. Remember that the day is about you and celebrating you, so bring it to life however best for you.

Bethany and Ben’s story began with a second chance. The pair first matched on Bumble, where Bethany admits she may have ghosted Ben at first. When they matched again on Hinge, they finally decided to meet up for a first date and quickly realized there was a spark. After nearly four years together, Ben planned a picturesque proposal during a summer trip to Rhode Island. Looking back, Bethany recalls, “Ugh, it was so perfect.” As the sun dipped below the horizon, he got down on one knee atop a cliff overlooking the ocean near Castle Hill Inn. After she said “Yes!,” the couple celebrated with a dreamy dinner at the inn.

With the help of Amber with Perfect Day Co., Bethany and Ben brought their vision of a “Nancy Meyers in the mountains” wedding weekend to life at Kendall Mountain Lodge. They invited 60 of their closest family and friends to experience the mountain town they had fallen in love with years before. No wedding weekend would have been complete without their golden retrievers, Wrangler and Annie, who inspired signature cocktails and joined in the festivities throughout the weekend. Looking back on the planning process, Bethany says choosing her outfits was one of her favorite parts. For the welcome party at The Wyman Hotel, she paired a romantic lace dress with a Stetson hat and Tecovas boots, embracing the weekend’s refined Western aesthetic. On the wedding day, her bridesmaids got ready in thrifted men’s button-ups embroidered with their initials while Bethany walked down the aisle alongside Ben in a heartfelt tribute to her late father, wearing a vintage Monique Lhuillier gown she discovered on Facebook Marketplace. Set against the dramatic San Juan Mountains, guests gathered for a floral-lined ceremony before dancing the night away with drinks flowing. The celebration continued back at the hotel for an unforgettable afterparty.

FIRST DANCE SONG “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton CAKE FLAVORS Almond with raspberry jam, my sister actually made the cake! She is a baker in Texas. SECOND-LOOK My afterparty look was custom from a shop on Etsy! Shoes were vintage Caparros from Depop. LATE NIGHT SNACK We had pizza at our afterparty! SONG THAT MADE EVERYONE DANCE Anything by ABBA VENDOR LOVE All my vendors went above and beyond for our wedding weekend! Our photographer, Ann Mark, flew in from New York and her second shooter, Emma, from Nebraska, they were truly the dream team! Our day-of coordinator, Amber and her team were so organized and efficient. They made the weekend go so smoothly I literally don’t know if anything went wrong, or if it did I didn’t know about it. And my florist Marissa! She traveled all the way from Fort Worth, Texas, and made the florals of my dreams happen! So thankful for her and her husband for putting in the work for our weekend.

RANCH HERITAGE Set against the sweeping Rocky Mountain backdrop of SageHeart Ranch in Boulder, this heirloom-inspired editorial by planner and photographer Josie Grace Photo, reimagines the beauty of celebrating close to home. Designed with a focus on legacy, connection and gathering, the wedding weekend embraced an earthy palette of sculptural florals and flowing drapery. The celebration began with a relaxed poolside welcome party where guests mingled over passed hors d’oeuvres, sipped cocktails and enjoyed elevated lawn games as horses grazed nearby and the Colorado sun dipped behind the mountains.

The fashion reflected two distinct moments of the wedding weekend. For the poolside welcome party, the bride wore a delicate off-white lace midi dress, while the groom opted for a relaxed black double-breasted suit worn without a shirt and finished with statement loafers, striking the perfect balance between playful and polished. The ceremony design transformed the home itself into part of the celebration, seamlessly blending the beauty of the landscape with the meaning held inside the home. Soft ivory drapery cascaded from the second-story windows, pooling gracefully behind the couple as sculptural grasses, calla lilies and meadow-inspired florals framed the aisle. As planner, Josie Grace, describes it, “Rather than separating the home from the ceremony, the space became intertwined. The drapery created a visual connection between the intimacy held within those walls and the union unfolding just outside them.”

After the couple exchanged vows, guests made their way to the back lawn overlooking the ranch’s pastures, where long, family-style tables invited everyone to linger over dinner beneath the Colorado sky. A lace-inspired wedding cake by Alyce in Flourland served as the centerpiece of the celebration, while heirloom-inspired place settings, delicate glassware and twiggy, garden-inspired floral arrangements created an atmosphere that felt elevated yet warm and inviting. Nearby, an abundant escort display overflowing with fresh grapes and seasonal fruit welcomed guests to their seats, setting the tone for an evening centered around good food and great conversation.
