It’s where Pooja’s passion for photography came alive, where Akhil proposed and where we feel most connected to the land and to creation itself. Safari has always felt like a spiritual home for us, grounding us in nature, humility and gratitude. Favorite experience: Safari game drives. One unforgettable moment was stepping out of the vehicle, under our ranger’s guidance, to stand just meters away from six young male giraffes. No other vehicles, just us, the open land after the rains and these gentle giants. It was humbling and surreal. A moment we’ll never forget: Watching white rhinos graze outside our floor-to-ceiling windows as dusk settled over the plains. We ran a bath, let the day slow down and later returned to massage beds set beside a crackling fire in our room. It was the perfect exhale after our wedding celebrations. Dining highlight: Every meal at Solio Lodge was exceptional. Menus were thoughtfully curated and tailored to our preferences, with herbs and vegetables sourced from the lodge’s own garden. Everything felt fresh, elevated and deeply intentional. One tip for couples heading on safari: Take time to learn about the land and the community. The culture, architecture, food and the warmth of the people completely won them over. “We didn’t know what to expect, but it really is so magical out there. Why a road trip honeymoon: They wanted something freeing and exciting. With very little planning, they were able to experience a wide range of places in one trip and stay open to whatever came next. Favorite experience: Stargazing in Rocky Mountain National Park. They arrived before sunset and stayed late, surrounded by stillness and a sky they’d never seen before. A moment that still feels cinematic: Driving through the Mojave Desert with no other cars in sight. Miles of open road, unfamiliar landscapes and a moment that felt straight out of a movie. Best thing they packed: A Polaroid. They took one photo together at every stop and now have a tangible record of the journey. Top three must-pack items: A good camera for capturing more than phone photos, great playlists and podcasts for long drives and a well-stocked emergency kit for remote stretches of road. One thing they wish they’d packed: A camcorder. They didn’t take many videos and would have loved to have moving footage of the journey. TIPS FROM THE COUPLE, ELLA & CADEN: A classic must-try: Mama’s Fish House. The food was a 10/10 and the views are just as memorable. Favorite experience: Snorkeling and cruising the Road to Hana in a convertible, swimming alongside sea life and taking in those unreal coastal views is pretty hard to beat. One tip for couples traveling to Maui: Be adventurous and ask locals for their favorite spots. There’s so much to see and learn, and the views are some of the best in the world. Don’t take it for granted. Best packing tip: Packing cubes. We traveled with carry-ons for a full week and couldn’t have done it without them. Memorable treat: Waikomo Shave Ice in Paia. Hands down the best shave ice we’ve ever had... we still think about it. Best thing we packed: Extra jewelry. With so many outfits and beach looks, it was fun to switch things up and accessorize. One item worth bringing: A GoPro. The quality is amazing and it makes capturing moments in the water effortless. A scent that takes us right back: Hawaiian Tropic Lime Coolada After Sun Lotion. One smell and we’re instantly in Maui again. If we could go back tomorrow: Head straight to the beach and jump in the ocean.

TIPS FROM THE COUPLE, ALYSSA & PAUL: Why Tulum? We were drawn to Tulum because it felt intentional and true to our style. We wanted an experience that blended adventure, beauty and meaning, and turning our elopement into a honeymoon felt like the perfect fit. A moment we still daydream about: Floating in the Bacalar Lagoon during a private boat tour. The water, the food, the guides; it was one of those days you wish you could relive over and over. Unexpected highlight: Watching a solar eclipse from the rooftop pool of our Airbnb on the last day. It was completely unplanned and truly once in a lifetime. Go-to restaurants: ARCA, Casa Jaguar, Il Bacaro, Taqueria La Chiapaneca (for birria and al pastor), and Italdo Bakery for coffee and pastries. One tip for couples heading to Tulum: Explore. Get on a boat, visit a cenote and plan at least one excursion. It’s absolutely worth it. Packing advice we swear by: Pack less than you think you need. Linen layers, comfortable shoes, sunscreen (and reapplying it!), plus a hand fan and good skincare goes a long way in the heat. One thing we wish we’d packed: More linen, Tulum is hot. Song or drink that brings us right back: 400 Conejos mezcal and “The Best” by Tina Turner. If we could go back tomorrow: We’d get on a boat immediately and happily do it all over again.
