Make a gift for grandparents at Discovery Center: Grandparents can be a huge part of any child’s life. On Saturday, September 9, Discovery Center Museum will be helping children celebrate their grandparents by providing a variety of special projects children can create as gifts to commemorate National Grandparents Day (Sunday, September 10). 10 a.m.-Noon - Children can design a Grandparents Day card in our Art Studio with help from Mary Kay Morrison, author of Legacy of Laughter: A Grandparent Guide & Playbook. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. - Children can create flower handprint bouquets, bracelets, and even “build their own grandparent” in the Art Studio! Children can also create a custom picture frame in our Makerspace. All projects are free with museum admission. Museum admission is $10/person and free to Members and children ages 1 and younger. Discovery Center Museum is an interactive children’s museum providing hands-on math, science and art experiences for all ages with over 250 hand-on exhibits, planetarium, special area for children under five, and an outdoor science park. The Museum is located inside Riverfront Museum Park, 711 North Main Street. General admission to the Museum is: $10 adults, $10 children (ages 2 to 17) and free to Museum members and children age 1 and younger.
