The Rockford Public Library hosting Grand Opening Gala celebrating New Main Library: A gala welcoming all to the newly built Main Library location will be at 215 North Wyman Street in Downtown Rockford on May 4th at 6 PM. The Gala is an opportunity for ticketholders to be among the first to view this exciting new addition to the riverfront. The evening will offer premium open bar service, fireworks off the river with a champagnetoast, savory and sweet gourmet delights, live music and an art auction. “At long last, we’re thrilled to be welcoming friends and supporters of the Rockford Public Library to celebrate this beautiful new building,” said Foundation Board member Jim Wojtowicz, “We can’t wait to see how RPL can better serve our community with the addition of this new Main Library.” The link through which one can purchase tickets for this (cocktail attire) event went live March 1st.
