WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR VISIT
When You Arrive Your bus will let you off right outside the performance hall. The window might be open or the curtain might be covering it. If it’s open, it might be bright!
Staff When you enter, you will see staff members saying hello behind the front desk and in the lobby. If you have a question, please ask!
Assigned Seats Your class will have assigned seats in the concert hall. Be sure to stick with your group! Your seats might be in the orchestra (main level) or you might take the stairs or the elevator to get to your seats if you’re in the balcony.
Restrooms The restrooms are located on the lower level of the Performance Center. Be sure to check in with a teacher if you need to use the restroom at any time during the performance.
Food & Drinks Food and drinks are not allowed in the performance hall. Not even water! These will need to be left in the lobby on the front desk. Backpacks are also not permitted in the performance hall and should be left at the front desk.
During Performance If you need to get up during the performance, please let an adult know. Rockport Music has quiet spaces if the performance gets too loud, and headphones available to cover your ears. If the window is too bright, we also have sunglasses to lend.
During Performance If you need space to walk around, that’s OK! Let an adult know and the staff will help direct you. Any special special items you need to help focus are welcome - we will also have some at the front desk if they’re helpful for you.
After Performance Clap to thank the musicians who performed. Sometimes performers will take questions from the audience. Be sure to raise your hand! Please wait and listen to instructions from your teachers to be dismissed from the performance center.
