Dear Valued Members & Guests,
As the season unfolds, we’re excited to offer a wealth of activities, delightful dining options, and a strong sense of community! One of our standout events is our Thanksgiving Buffet—a perfect opportunity to gather your loved ones for a memorable meal, surrounded by the warmth of our Rockledge family. Let “The Rock” take care of the heavy lifting this holiday season.
Starting November 1st, VUE 18 Bar & Grill will have new hours, operating from 11am to 5pm. These hours are perfect for unwinding after a round of golf or enjoying good company. In anticipation of the holidays, our dedicated staff will be transforming the club with festive decorations, a cherished tradition that sets a joyful tone for the season. We’re also thrilled to announce the return of our Pop-Up Christmas! Stay tuned for the date announcement.
This fall, we’re eager to strengthen our ties with the local community through various outreach efforts, an initiative that is especially close to my heart. I look forward to exploring how we can all contribute. If you’re interested in getting involved or have questions about our tournaments, please reach out to anyone in the Pro Shop for assistance.
Keep an eye out for more details about our tournaments, social gatherings, and clinics, designed for all skill levels. These events aim to bring our community together and create lasting memories.
As we strive to maintain a polished atmosphere, we want to remind everyone about our dress code. Collared shirts are required for all attendees, and unfortunately, cut-off shorts, cargo shorts, t-shirts, denim jeans, tennis shoes, and tank tops are not permitted. Please remember that shorts should be Bermuda length, and only soft spikes are allowed. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us uphold these standards!

COURSE MAINTENCE UPDATE
Hurricane Helene only nicked us a little, and we are very fortunate for that. Our thoughts are with those who were not so lucky. We had some minor cleanup to do. Mostly just a lot of palm fronds down, along with some Spanish moss. Rain totals were only a couple inches as well, so we didn’t get overly soggy. The season will be behind us soon, and hopefully we can dodge any more storms that develop.
We recently made a fertilizer application to the entire course. The timing was good as it rained the very next day. There are still a couple good growing months left for Bermudagrass, and we are taking advantage of that to heal some weak areas that still remain.
The greens have healed nicely from the recent aerification. As the weather begins to moderate, the green speeds will once again become quicker.
Overseeding of tee boxes will happen sometime in early November. When we do this, we will be watering some during the day to keep the seed moist. This allows for quicker germination.

PRO SHOP UPDATE
October 2024
September was an active month for the golf operation, as we continued to welcome many more new members and kicked off several new programs for the fall. Our new Monday evening ladies 9 hole league is off to a great start, with many new players joining each week. Ladies of all skills levels are welcome to participate, it’s a drop in league meaning that you don’t have to play each week, start time is 4:00pm each Monday.
We also started our fall operation 36 instructional programs for both juniors and ladies. The programs are at max capacity, our juniors practice on Tuesday evenings and the ladies on Wednesday evenings. Every other Saturday the students take to the course to try and shoot a 9 hole score of 36 from whichever yardage and level that they are currently at.
October is sure to be a great month as we welcome back many of our seasonal members and guests. We are also very excited to announce a new feature that will be added to our golf carts in mid October. We will be installing golf cart GPS units to each cart, using a company called Tag Marshall. These units will feature a high definition 8 inch screen in each cart. Not only will this system provide you with yardages and hole graphics, it allows our golf operation to be much more efficient. With the carts being tracked we will be able to monitor cart activity from a screen in the pro shop which will allow us to stay ahead of any pace of play issues and send alerts directly to groups that are out of position. The carts will also be “Geo Fenced” with this new system. This feature allows us to restrict cart traffic remotely in areas that carts should not be driven, areas such as too close to the green, near tee boxes, etc. If your cart enters these areas it will shut down and alert you, and will need to reverse out of this area. This feature is much needed and will allow us to protect our turf in sensitive areas as we head into the winter season.
We just received a new shipment of Footjoy shirts into the golf shop, they are moving off the shelf quickly. In October we will also be receiving our men ’ s and ladies Nike apparel, along with a new Callaway glove that features a logo ball marker on it. Thanks for your continued support of the golf shop
