Dear Members and Guests,

As the vibrant blooms of May unfold, we at Rockledge Country Club are thrilled to share the latest happenings and look forward to exciting events on the horizon. We hope this newsletter finds you enjoying the serene spring setting that our club proudly offers.

Our commitment to enhancing your golfing experience is unwavering. Building on the progress reported in April, our fairway renovations are progressing smoothly, promising an elevated gameplay experience. Additionally, our range tee improvements are on track to provide a stateof-the-art practice environment. We're implementing innovative cultural practices to ensure our greens remain pristine and challenging. Your patience and support as we enhance our facilities are immensely appreciated.

April was a bustling month with an array of golf tournaments that not only brought our community together but also aided local nonprofits in their fundraising efforts. We recognize that these events might have affected your regular tee times, and we sincerely thank you for your understanding. Our golf staff continues to strive for minimal disruptions and enhanced course access for all our members. We encourage you to participate in future tournaments and contribute to these vital community efforts.

We are excited to announce a partnership with Savannah's Golf Course. This summer, all our members, including bronze level for the first time, can enjoy playing at Savannah’s for a cart fee of only $24 from May 1st through September 30th. With our summer maintenance practices already underway, this additional course option ensures that you can enjoy uninterrupted golf throughout the season.

Looking ahead, Rockledge Country Club is proud to announce a Wedding Showcase scheduled for July. This event will feature our elegant ballroom and stunning outdoor settings that make our club a premier choice for weddings and prestigious events. Whether you are planning a wedding, a corporate party, or another significant event, this showcase will reveal the enchanting possibilities available at Rockledge.

Celebrate Mother's Day with us! Join us for a special brunch on this heartwarming day dedicated to honoring all mothers. Reservations are filling up quickly, so be sure to book your table soon to enjoy a delightful culinary experience in the beautiful surroundings of our club.

Turf Care Update

We are excited to get our fairway and driving range project rolling.We have begun the process of removing the old grass in preparation for the sprigging and sodding to take place on May 31st. Although an inconvenience, we are confident you will enjoy the new fairway grass on 5,7,10 and 12 once completed around the end of July. The range tee will be sodded and should be back in play sometime in late June.

Aerification of fairways, some rough areas and traffic areas took place on April 22nd and continued for the rest of that week. A fertilization of the entire course was done on April 29th.

We recently finished the tree trimming project. This will improve our ability to maintain around the trees, reduce the impact of storm damage, and help golfers trying to escape from a wayward shot.

As we reach the end of another winter season, it is obvious where cart traffic damage has occurred. If everyone would only use the cart paths that are provided around greens and tees, we would minimize this damage tremendously. When I say “use the cart paths”, I mean all four wheels. It amazes me when I see two wheels on and two wheels off. I guess it is human nature. Please change your ways if you feel you are guilty of this. Those of you with handicap flags are not exempt from all rules. You should remain at least 30 feet from the greens.

Membership is $99 plus tax for each individual membership per month. The membership will include unlimited greens fees and warm up ball bucket at both courses. Cart fee of $24 plus tax is required for each round and is not included in membership price at Rockledge Country Club or the Savannahs Golf Club. Update from the Pro Shop

Summer Reciprocal

Now that Summer is approaching, we have arranged a summer reciprocal for our members. Like in years past, coinciding with our summer membership offering, all our Gold, Silver, and for the time ever Bronze Members are automatically enrolled in the program.

This year’s partner course is the Savannah Golf Course on Merritt Island. If you would like to play the course at any time from May through September, simply make a tee time and we have a shared roster for those receiving the cart fee only rate.

Course Construction Procedure

We have set up a process to handle scoring this summer during course renovations. The process will be as follows:

Hole 5:

We will be playing this hole as a par 3 hole, please play from tee markers.

Hole 7:

Hole will be closed, play two balls and post two scores on hole 9.

Hole 10:

Hole will be closed, play two balls and post two scores on hole 11.

Hole 12:

Hole will be closed, play two balls and post two scores on hole 14.

This is the system we will use for club affiliated events, such as the Saturday Shootout, etc. Individual groups and leagues may choose to put into effect their own procedures, however, keep in mind that re-routing and skipping around the course may not be permitted due to other tee time reservations.

Thanks to everyone for your patience during this time, we are beyond excited for what we have coming on the other side of these renovations.

Score Posting

We have received word back from the USGA regarding how to handle score posting while we have the holes closed for maintenance. According to USGA rules, courses undergoing significant enhancements with more than 2 holes closed, it isnot recommended that we post scores. Any scores played from June 1 through the end of construction should not be posted.

Junior Camps

We couldn’t be prouder of our PGA Junior League Team this year, we are leading the league heading into the last couple weeks of the Season, if you see the kids around the club, please wish them well in our final and championship matches. Once the season finishes up, we will be rolling into our summer junior camp programs, we will be featuring four this year, if you have kids or grandchildren interested, please see the golf shop for details.

Thank you for welcoming these young players to RCC, the future of the game is bright as we do our part in growing the game here on the Space Coast and building the future generation of Members at Rockledge Country Club.

Incoming Merchandise

Thanks to everyone for supporting the golf shop this season, the growth of the golf shop and attendance at the fitting days has been incredible. Heading into the summer we will have a little less inventory on hand; however we have a great new line of summer shirts coming in from Bermuda Sands, along with a new Footjoy Collection. We also will begin carrying Nike this Fall, one of only a few places in the area where you can get it.
