Year of the Birdie: In 2020, golf became the perfect activity for these times! The coronavirus pandemic decimated numerous industries in 2020 but among the few that have benefited: golf. Turns out our favorite game is the perfect leisure activity for these unprecedented times. Social distancing is a breeze, and the fresh air, sunshine and companionship a needed tonic for many who are otherwise sheltered in place. Taken as a whole, the golf experience offers a peace-of-mind that is otherwise nearly impossible to find once you venture out of your home. The game’s benefits have never been more apparent, and its surge in popularity has parallels to another unlikely boom time, during World War II.
FROM THE DESK OF A. BEYEL Dear Members and guests, This past year, and to this day, there has been a resurgence of love for the great outdoors. Nationwide, golf has enjoyed a tremendous rebound of sorts and RCC is no different. To help accommodate the increased demand, our team has been working hard to develop and improve various programs for you to enjoy your golf experience. We have seen a similar BOOM of activity at the Pickleball Courts! Pickleball is another fun and healthy outdoor activity. We have teamed up with some amazing coaches who have done an excellent job creating clinics, programs, and events that have driven engagement for the beginner to the advanced. March, of course, means our “Men’s Member Guest” is here. Our “Bourbon Street” themed event begins Thursday, March 4th.This annual Member Event is not one to miss! As we get ready for Spring and continue to enjoy beautiful weather, it is the perfect time to come get an individual game assessment or sign-up for a lesson with one of our professionals on staff. We are excited to announce that our culinary staff has created some new menu items to be released soon. We will also be celebrating St.Patrick’s Day here at the club with green beer and great Irish food specials!
On a personal note, if there is anything, I can do to make your member experience better, please let me know. Most of you are aware that 2020 brought some health issues for me, so I have been working a lot from the cloud and through my amazing staff. Also, having 3 grandbabies born during COVID-19 has been challenging. Making the choice t0 remain somewhat isolated while they were first born, to ease their parents mind if I was needed in any way. This grandmother of now “7” must be ready for anything!
Things have changed a lot during this last year, but for over 100 years this club has succeeded because of the ability to flex with the times. If ever you need a quick response my email is GM@Rockledgecc.com, or just let one of my team members know, as they have unlimited access to me.
