BUS TRIPS
ADULT RECREATION BASKETBALL
The adult basketball season, open to men and women, will start early February and run through mid-April. Night of play is listed below; however game days could change depending on the schools schedule. Make-up games are at the discretion of the department. Playoff champions receive tee shirts. Entry fee must be paid in full at time of registration. Final rosters are due by the first game. Shirt sizes must be turned in at time of registration for jersey/shirt orders.

COED VOLLEYBALL
The winter coed volleyball season will start early January and run through beginning of March. Games will be played on both Monday and Wednesday nights. Make-up games are at the discretion of the department and can be played on any night. Teams must begin each match with equal or more females on the court. Space is limited to the first 8 teams.

INTRO TO HIKING
Join Rockingham County Parks and Recreation and Walkabout Outfitters for this free introduction to hiking class. This event will take place at the Downtown Harrisonburg Walkabout Outfitters location, 90 N Main Street. This class will cover the basics needed to start hiking including the gear you need, how to fit footwear and packs and much more.

BACK COUNTRY NAVIGATION CLINIC
Join us for an afternoon of learning and practicing map and compass skills out in the George Washington Ntl. Forest; for dayhikers, backpackers, mountain bikers, hunters, scout leaders, and anyone else who likes to wander off the beaten path. Ages 14 and older (teens may attend unaccompanied, but their transportation must be provided by parent or guardian). A personal clothing list, Medical Form/Participant Agreement, and driving directions to the activity meetup will be provided by WILD GUYde Adventures after registration.

AARP SMART DRIVER
Participants will learn defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws and rules of the road to safely adjust driving to compensate for age-related changes. Persons who complete the course will be issued a Certificate of Completion to be provided to your insurance company for a discount. Please feel free to bring a brown bag lunch to class. All course materials are provided to participants and no tests are involved. Class will be led by certified AARP instructor, Kati Mole.

WASHINGTON, DC Join us as we travel to the nation’s capital for an evening of baseball at Nationals Park. Enjoy a ride with fellow fans on our minibus, you will be dropped off at the stadium, with no need to stress about traffic or parking. Fee includes mini bus transportation and ticket.

FALL FOLIAGE TOUR
SKYLINE DRIVE, VA Join Rockingham County Parks and Recreation on a scenic drive through the Shenandoah National Park’s Skyline Drive. You will have the opportunity to see beautiful scenic views, changing fall colors and a delicious meal at the Big Meadows Lodge. Fee includes mini bus transportation and admittance into Shenandoah National Park, meal not included.

NATIONAL ZOO
WASHINGTON, DC Join us as we travel to the National Zoo in Washington, DC. Our minibus will drop you off at the entrance and you will have hours to explore the zoo on your own or with other members of our group. You can choose your own adventure, but we highly recommend visiting the Pandas on the Asian Trail and grabbing lunch at Elevation Burger near Lion and Tiger Hill. Fee includes mini bus transportation, meal not included.

HIGHBRIDGE TRAIL STATE PARK
FARMVILLE, VA Join Rockingham County Parks and Recreation on a scenic trip to Farmville, VA where you will have the opportunity to explore the spectacular Highbridge Trail State Park as well as partaking in a delicious meal at a Farmville favorite BBQ joint the Fish and Pig. Fee includes mini bus transportation, the cost of your meal is not included.
